Is Haddonfield not a priority?
I know there's like several parts of the game on fire right now but why is no one talking about this map being unplayable?

In what way is it unplayable?
-23 -
The entire main building side of the map is useless.
Why is it acceptable for 50% of a map to be unsafe?
41 -
It's the size of a shoe box and 90% of the loops are very unsafe.
52 -
With so many survivor sided maps I think a few killer sided should be left as they are
-41 -
While I agree to some extent from a killer's POV, I would much rather have a more balanced approach to all maps.
But in the case of Haddonfield, I will agree with the majority of survivor players and say that it is probably the most unsafe map out of all. It really needs a size increase at least, and the return of a few safe spots for survivors. It is 75% dead-zone, 20% unsafe pallets/loops, and 5% decent.
Not to mention the highly imbalanced 3-gen that sometimes spawns in and outside of the Myers house.Haddonfield definitely needs to be bigger again, with more houses, especially on the Myers side, and the street needs to be narrower, like it used to be in the past.
27 -
It's not just killer sided though.
Rotten Fields is a killer-sided map yet nobody complains about it because while a good killer will most likely win it doesn't feel as useless as Haddonfield does currently.
17 -
Your forgetting autohaven, by far the most survivor sided map. Some would argue it's not survivor sided but there is a reason why 90% of my matches people are bringing azarovs offering and even DC in loading screen if I bring sac ward. So many wouldn't go through that effort to play on 1 map for no reason
-19 -
Not more houses, though. Those are terrible to get any sort of balance on.
2 -
I would love just normal jungle gyms near the mid or either side of the main house, as soon as the pallets gone that's usually gg, it's over
1 -
Ever since they fixed the 3gen its not as bad.
Bigger maps that need fixing right now are probably badham and the game.

There’s so much content in this game to fix/update now that the devs just can’t keep up. I wouldn’t hold your breath waiting for any map updates. Even just basic bug fixes take weeks or months now.

You tell them Wolfy!!!

All I really want is the park area to be more prominent and have like actual slides and stuff. Make it feel real.

It lost its Halloween vibe. One single house on one side and then the state highway running through the middle.... Hopefully they will improve the layout soon
26 -
So is it a Survivor compliant or a Killer compliant???
-9 -
To me, it’s less about balance and more that the map sucks to play on for both roles. It could be a perfectly balanced map, but if you don’t want to play on it …
3 -
What you mean? I love the massive two dead zones on either side of the map.
You get a nice little pallet with a wall the size of a killer to play around. Theres even cute little lockers there for you. Dont like it? Too bad!!22 -
If they're gonna do a Haddonfield rebalance, they should do one for Badham at the same time to try to make both sides happier, or at least less mad.
-3 -
I gave up on haddonfield and came to the realization, that behavior only changes maps if killers are crying about them.
13 -
It was just as "unplayable" for killer (if not worse) for years and they left it that way, so I'm guessing it's not a huge priority.
Hell, at this point I wonder if it's not intentional after it being absurdly broken in favor of survs for so long.
Of course something at least approximating balance would be nice, but that's not how BHVR rolls.
-1 -
Hot take:
BHVR should give up on this version of Haddonfield entirely, go back to the first versions of the map, and start over.
That map was not only much better aesthetic wise with the old lighting and the much smaller road, but layout wise, it would be more workable than the current variant.
Go back, remove the ludicrously long fences and infinites, make it so there aren't too many OP tiles, keep the old lighting but add the new textures, and you're golden.
24 -
EXACTLY!!
The original map looked so much better, the lighting and the smaller road, the houses close together, it FELT like a suburban area.
Now? Now it looks like someone built a highway through a ghost town.
11 -
That is a searing hot take, imo. In addition to being unbalanced, the old version was hideous and graphically dated. It looked like it was rendered for a 2007 game.
I'll agree that the road is way too wide, and there are now dead spaces where there were houses (but the latter happened after the big overhaul), but it looks so much better than OG version.
The layout needs adjustment, but the aesthetic is a dramatic improvement over the old version. I cringe whenever I see old clips. If one takes off their nostalgia glasses, it's really hard to look at.
Frankly, I thought it was in decent shape right after the overhaul (the wide ass road not withstanding). It was the last update that really broke the map's balance, and I have no idea why they did it.
Put houses back in the dead zones, narrow the road, close some of the walls, and open up some of the windows and we're good, imo.

Yeah…There is absolutely no excuse for this spawn…easiest three-gen to patrol in my life, and I wasn't even patrolling.
If this had been a live match, I wouldn't blame survivors for DC-ing the moment they realised they were screwed over by the absolute awful spawns on this map. I am by no means a *good* Dracula player either, hence why I was in a custom game. But the bots basically three-gened themselves so hard they fell apart, because they couldn't pressure the gens any harder, due to how quickly I was able to chase them away and force them to reset.
18 -
a good idea would be to make the street more narrow wich would make the street less of a deadzone
1 -
I don't get Haddonfield to often but unless team mates are bad usually not to bad
-12 -
Really? So the killer doesn't have to walk across a big map if the gens get split? And the pallets aren't playable, including the park loops and car loops, and so every chase is no more than 20 seconds?
-20 -
It's not useless. But I tell you what: take that type of short pallet loop that spawns right next to the gates on Hawkins, and put one on the left and right side of the main, so that when they're pre-dropped, they create near- god loops, because of the time the killer wastes going around.
-23 -
If only we saw half the outrage over Badham as we did Haddonfield. But I think we know why that's not the case.
-22 -
1st of all, they 3-gen'd themselves. 2nd, that no longer matters because of the gen kick limit. The killer has to have some favorable position at some point, right?
-22 -
It's not about faverable posistion for the killer, this map is absolute dogwater for survivors right now. This type of Spawn shouldn't be a thing full stop.
14 -
This map and burgo need a complete overhaul again their is legit not enough resources for 4 gens to get done let alone 5 and most loops on borgo are easily 30% 70% in the killer favour
14 -
Haddonfield is easily the most or second most killer sided map in the game right now. Small map AND Dead Zones AND horrible loops AND a nasty 3 gen.
How can you defend such a blatantly unbalanced map?
It takes a fair bit of time for the gen kick limit to kick in. Even in a real match a half decent killer should win easily in this map before any gens reach the limit.
15 -
Haddonfield NEEDS to be a priority for sure. Loading into the map as survivor means instant loss if the killer has over 5 braincells.
19 -
Translation: It's an easy win map for any competent killer so it's perfectly fine. We don't have to deal with decent loops and every single gen is in easy reach.
I've seen some hardcore biased opinions on here but that's next level. Tier 1 Myers could patrol the current Haddonfield easily.
21 -
fix both
12 -
What's worse than Whataboutism? Whataboutism that isn't even based in reality.
20 -
Something needs to be added to the left side of the main building to make up for the fact that the porch vault is useless now.
4 -
I’m pretty sure today I had a house spawn with nothing but two vaults and I was just in awe about it
12 -
This level is terrible. I'm a rare breed who is "enjoying" going against Ghoul, but man Haddonfield blooooooows. This level is atrocious to see Ghoul, Huntress and Knight.
Don't get me wrong, I hated old haddonfield. I hated it so much I mained Agitation on Demo so in the off chance I got sent there, I'd use that perk to cheese the level as punishment. But those days are long gone. Why do we need to continue suffering here?
17 -
They seem to be hell bent on having Haddonfield cause suffering for one side or the other.
12 -
It's weird to say this but its my least favorite map now and previously it was midwich.
7 -
I wonder if the devs might have to figure out some license stuff before changing anything in this map. Like, they need to get the license holders approval and whatnot. Maybe that's the reason why it remained giga survivor-sided for so many years and now it's remaining giga killer-sided for years too. (Copium)

Oh, so you found circumstantial evidence.
I didn't want to play this game, but I think we can all tell, based on the upvotes/downvotes in this thread, which way the crowd leans. Look at the first 5 replies, for crying out loud. You would NEVER see that much pushback against Badham on average, if you actually went thread by thread and looked at what's being said. Those criticizing Badham simply don't get any traction. There's a few "Here, here!"s in response, 1-2 upvotes on each comment, and no dev, mod, or community leader input. That's it.
I like how you curated the search results with the date filters to get better results for your narrative. I just put Badham in the search bar and pressed search, which displayed to me the types of discussions I described above.^ Y'all really have a way of distorting reality yourselves, citing the devs' ever-skewed kill rates to say why killers need nerfing, and using the win streaks of the greatest upper echelon of killer players which I can count on 1-2 hands to justify the same. If you want to say I'M the one with logical fallacies, I'll match you tit for tat every time.
I guess none of this matters, and all we can do is wait. See if Haddonfield gets omega buffed instead of the devs simply adding a loop or moving a gen, so that the map's not so polarizing. Or see if Badham ever becomes fair, like via the nerf/removal of house of pain, main, or 2-story, because any one of those buildings can lead to a game-losing chase for killer currently. The stuff I say isn't always tied to statistics, but it is tied to experience, and my experience says the devs either won't do anything, or they'll give survivors the better deal. Just you watch.
-24 -
I feel like it doesn't matter considering the map barely resembles Haddonfield at all anymore.
6 -
There is also a nasty 3-gen setup at main building
5 -
Haddonfield needs something for sure. I actually had a match this morning where a teammate brought the Haddonfield map offering, and I'm like, "Why...?"
3 -
Me and @HeroLives had a teammate who brought that offering as well, and we were both questioning it.
Fortunately, we got 3 out, as the killer was a Doctor trying the impossible skillchecks build, which backfired badly.4 -
skill check isn’t that impossible 😏 also yeah who brings haddonfield🤨
3 -
Bush tech!
