Why do people even play Chaos Shuffle?
I used to love chaos mode but it’s back for the first day and already it’s the same stuff.
Killers come in, get perks they don’t like so they just tunnel camp slug everyone out because they’re so reliant on their perks they don’t know how to play without them. So it’s tunnel for the 4K.
Survivors come in, don’t get their favorite exhaustion perks so the minute they go down in chase they give up on hook or DC.
If people are so reliant on their perks that you can’t play without them go play the regular mode. Why are you in chaos mode? I don’t get it.

Less annyoing perk builds. Some may be lucky, but at least you dont see ghoulds runing their annyoing hex setup or full slowdown. And killers always played like this no matter the mode. history prooved this.

That’s valid

It's weird indeed, thought the whole point was to play with randomized perks and mess around with them,
If you want to decide which perks you get then the normal mode still very much exists.
Although I gotta admit that I wasn't overjoyed when I got No Mither, Self Care and Inner Strength once… 😪

Chaos shuffle would be cool as a loadout option. A game mode? Naaah.

Is there a tome? If not as usual I will just ignore it.

To be fair survivors DC and go next in regular mode pretty often anyway so I don't think the event would have much impact on that.
I don't like chaos mode and won't play it but I can see the appeal for killers and survivors. the only way killers can win without the right perks is indeed tunnel and with survivors having random perks there is less anti tunnel perks the killer needs to worry about.
I suppose survivors can gen rush without worry of regress perks because the chances of a killer getting them is pretty slim and survivors can still bring toolboxes.

I never really got the appeal of Chaos Shuffle. The only interesting thing about playing survivor is running different builds, but this mode gives you perks with either no synergy, or sometimes anti-synergy. So you're often just stuck with basekit survivor, which is kind of dull. The creative synergy is where the spice is.
You might get some new, interesting build when playing survivor. But more often than not, you end up with mediocre perks that don't do anything interesting when combined.

Its not the perks that mekes me tryhard. Real problem for me is lobby stuck with meta addons especialy on survivor side. This forces me to tunnel becouse after 2 syrenges and one bnp 3 gens are done in no time and i with 3-4 hooks cant do anything else to gain preasure.
-3 -
Which combination of red and purple add-ons are you bringing as killer? Because every killer is bringing in their best add-ons as well.
3 -
What i hate the most abt it is that add ons, items, and offerings aren't also random. So in some ways the meta can be abused still, defeating the purpose of the mode's existence. They should either make those also random, or not allow them in Chaos Shuffle anymore

It's definitely lost the casualness that made it fun originally. I played a few games today and they were okay so I might give it another shot. I pretty much gave up on the modifier last time it was out.

It's supposed to be a fun twist. The killers and survivors get randomized perks. That has no bearing on their playstyle. If they choose to tunnel or camp, so be it.
It doesn't help the sometimes you get No Mither/Self-Care as survivor, which I think the devs do on purpose to be funny. Hopefully they've patched that out this time. It's just annoying having random junk and then your opponent randomly gets godlike perks. The competitiveness in us coming out, I guess.

John's Medical File and Workshop Grease Pig! ^🐽^
Chase Pig FTW!

Wait, you play pig, and with add-ons? Nope, instant dc, I don't play with toxic killers. XD

There is no tome again so likewise I will ignore it completely, it has its fans & thats fine but the majority of games see killers hard tunnel & proxy camp, over & over & I don't bother playing killer because at least for me the queues are always much longer as unsurprisingly a few games in less survivors want to play against proxy camping & tunneling!
& yes Survivors can bring bnp or med kit add ons that supposedly make life hell, my personal experience from past games suggest they don't offset killers who sweat a 4k remotely!
Unfortunately its the killers who do play for hooks that always get the rough end of games just like solos on survivor side

Yeah, it’s op I know. Pig is a sleeper killer. The secret S+ tier killer. oink 🐷

Maybe it will shock you but im playing killer most of times addonless. Explenation i think killer shouldnt be addon dependent(trapper, wraith, mayers, ghoustface, doctor) , addons should only boost your kit like 20% or make it different but not bad, or add same new effects that arent busted like billys iri beast mark( gives you speed in exange for charge time) or the one iri thath makes you 110 killer but gives you faster charge time. Only killer thats comes to ballance changes that make him capable without addons is leather face before that he was super addon dependent, now its much better and you can use his basekit to do some stuf.

Not me. I'm running pretty chill addons as Dredge, Ghostie, and Nemesis… none of my pinks or purples at all. In fact my Ghostface setup specifically is Leather Sheath (green) and Matchbook (brown), and my Dredge setup is Doll/Malthinker's Skull. Then I just run the zombie speed addons for Nemesis no other addons.
So maybe you are seeing Draculas and Kankeis with purples and pinks. But I assure you it's not "every Killer".2 -
This is why I like Lights Out as a mode: Nobody can bring anything that can sway the game in anyone's favor, and everyone has to deal with the same difficulties finding things/Survivors. It's just the more balanced, better mode of the two, always was especially after Lights Out 2.0.
Bring it back, less Chaos Shuffle until they randomize everything or remove the ability to bring items/addons/map offerings.4 -
I don't really get why everyone is sweating so much either. Chaos shuffle genuinely has the capability of being one of the most entertaining modes, but people playing it are trying way to hard to maximize their competitive advantage from any other avenue that they can.
I've been trying to counter this mindset a little bit by running what I call The Chillbilly, icy cosmetics along with cracked primer bulb and I just see what kinds of crazy chainsaw hits I can get. But truthfully, I shouldn't have to purposefully hamstring myself just so that people get the hint that I'm not going to extremely hard tunnel 3 hooks on the same survivor at 5 gens. (Which happened in several of my survivor matches today).

I genuinely enjoyed Light's Out more. My only complaint is that bhvr should have just let Doc and Legion be useless as they were supposed to be
-4 -
I'd play it if they actually randomized Items and Offerings… Really stupid that they don't.. Kind of makes it pointless to take part in when one side can choose the map… Might as well be talking to a brick wall asking for these types of simple single click changes to happen…

Yes, the novelty has worn off a little bit but it's still my favourite DBD variant overall.
I just like trying to get value from whatever build the entity gives me and I guess the slot machine aspect of whether I will get good or bad perks is kinda addictive too. Even the camping and tunelling bothers me less than it might otherwise because it's hard to take the mode all that seriously. It also stays fresher for longer compared to 2V8. Mostly because of the infinte perk variations compared to the 4 classes of 2V8 and the limited Killer roster / crazy queue times.
Of course it has some shortcomings. Perks that need urgent reworks can pop up (Like Hex: Third Seal and No Mither), with the potential to make some trials a terrible time. I also wish BHVR would fully embrace the random spirit of the mode and make all items, offerings and add-ons totally random. The temptation to bring the strongest things to trial is too strong for some players (Guilty as charged. I always bring my favourite Killer add-on combos and a juicy Med-Kit).

It's practically this answer, I used to love the game mode at first but it's basically a situation where as survivor — you are in a situation where you might get good perks, you might not get good perks, you'll have tunneling and slugging. - I had this where I had a Bubba tunneling with (Pain Resonance, Trail of Torment, Thana, and a fourth perk that I can't remember) on Dead Dawg Saloon. - he tunneled my friend, even after two For The People plays from myself. I don't care to play the game and usually opt for regular games due to this ^.
On the killer side, you have times where you have no gen slowdown or nothing to pressure the survivors — you don't need to worry about second chance perks, so you can tunnel to your heart's content if needed.
It's such a shame because it's probably the closest we have to a casual game mode as you don't have to see meta perks, but it doesn't change with player behavior obviously -- I'd rather go against meta with my perks that I know synergize vs. go against a killer who has the ability to make a 1v3 easily and have no way to take back the game, especially if I don't have good perks to combat it.
Edit: @buggybug - no tome, which is strange. Just pushes me to go play regular if I'm being honest. ☠️

Haha, I'll always remember one time I loaded in with No Mither and looped a Clown while playing SWF a year or so ago with it.

^ moments like this doesn't exist in the game, a killer sees you have No Mither and you're done - you might have a merciful killer from time to time, but it's such a shame.
I used to love the game mode because I love making new builds and finding new synergies, but obviously it's so inconsistent. The only game mode I truly liked was Lights Out! which I think is unpopular, but it was nice being jumpscared in all honesty and gave DBD the horror vibe that it desperately needs.

For me the appeal of Chaos Shuffle (aside from the rapidly diminishing returns of the novelty factor) lies in the fact that it's much less likely I'm going to run into the standard meta perks and instead maybe play around some more unusual ones for both sides. It's so refreshing to play a round of Killer where not every Survivor is running Finesse, Lithe, Windows and Resilience, and on Survivor it's a bit of a relief not to have to worry so much about Pain Res and Pop. Granted, this doesn't affect everyone equally: it's a lot easier to ignore bad perks as an oppressive Killer, while a low-tier Killer with bad perks can feel completely useless.
