Later this year we will be able to see other survivors perks in Lobby
Bomb dropped
Comments

yay, never again playing with No Mither teammates or other obstacles (as if I would pay enough attention in the lobby to notice)
Seriously, i hope this will lead to perk adjustments down the line as some perks are mostly used for trolling or are just detrimental for your team and will get dodged more often8 -
Lol, they dropped that as if it were just a throw away line, something we already knew. Im so happy about it
7 -
Exactly. I'm also looking forward to never play with no mither users again. This perk is trash and drags down the whole team.
-1 -
They know they'll have to change perks like No Mither now, or else the lobby shopping and dodging will become insane.
6 -
Your lobby is either going to be the sweatiest team you've ever gone against or complete noobs with this change. I personally like it since I think you should be able to play with who you want to. Solo queue is even worse when you have teammates who run meme perks.
2 -
They probably will just remove the feature and call the testing a failure.
But while it lasts I will be happy to never play with totem builds/chest builds/screaming builds/key builds again.
-2 -
I just don't see how showing this in the lobby couldn't lead to anything but their matchmaking being destroyed by all the backfills. Anyone going for any adept, not just David's, will be dodged into oblivion, as will those attempting challenges etc.
It's like passing along what we think is a problem onto other players while not caring about the consequences to others, and actively wreaking the matchmaking system too.
9 -
I can't wait to be lobby dodged to hell and back because I run a meme build. Yay.
11 -
The meta will be enforced. Get ready to never get a good team because anyone with over 100+ hours dodges you for the sin of running Red Herring. No fun allowed.
5 -
I run Pebble, Lute, Plot Twist, and a variable fourth perk that's often Mirrored Illusion. I'll never get another match again if this goes live.
4 -
killers are about to never get a full lobby unless it’s full of sweat. How the turn tables turn. I remember when killers used to lobby dodge out the wahzoo. Wild call bhvr, I’ll get the popcorn ready.
-1 -
lol me running bond for the show 🙃 I won’t dodge you.
1 -
Yeah, this seems like a bad idea. As others have mentioned, this will likely lead to people shopping for and dodging lobbies. That will also lead to an issue with backfilling of lobbies, potentially with players of skill levels that don't match.
There will also be a byproduct that some fraction of players will feel forced to not explore perks they worry are too weak. I sometimes mix up my builds to try interesting things. I don't put on perks that are bad for my team (e.g. No Mither), but I think the ability to explore perks will decrease dramatically. BHVR should just fix bad perks instead of this.
4 -
Unless there is some 'you can't leave the lobby' mechanic, this is a potential disaster. Really surprised this is the way they are handling it.
4 -
BHVR should just fix bad perks instead of this.
People have different ideas of what constitutes a bad perk. As I said above, I love my meme build and the perks I run, but other survivors would probably dodge it because it's not meta. The reason for showing perks is to help survivors coordinate better. What survivors need are more hints that certain perks are in play. Knowing a teammate has Deliverance, knowing the person who got in a locker has Head On. Things like that would be useful to to know.
4 -
Incoming patch where backing out of lobbies will be bannable.
0 -
The main point of being able to dodge lobbies was to avoid high pings, and they removed the ping indicator (which sucks), so I really wouldn't be surprised.
0 -
Exactly, so now we're stuck dealing with a high ping killer that has a perpetual advantage over us, such as The Huntress and The Deathslinger, with hits through walls, around corners, and getting snapped into the projectile's path. So fun!!
-4 -
Sole survivor survivors will have people lobby dodge until four Sole survivor players are in the same lobby. All waiting for the others to die in game later.
2 -
They're definitely going to have to fix lobby dodging, in this case.
I'm all for people having info, but if the info's in the lobby they need to either bolster backfill tremendously or make it impossible to leave lobbies without a penalty. I know which one would be better, but I also know which one is more feasible.
Honestly, maybe that wouldn't be the worst thing. You should generally be expected to play out the match you queue for unless something genuine comes up, and "I don't like those perks" isn't something genuine.
2 -
Every once in a while the queue seems to take too long and I'll get put on a different server, and the game is unplayable when it does that. I'd rather wait longer than be in a match I can't participate in. It doesn't happen too often, but it's incredibly frustrating when it does happen. The lack of a ping indicator is extremely player unfriendly.

We already had this feature in DbD Mobile and there was no issue with it, so stop doom posting.
4 -
I can't wait, if I see any urban, sprint burst, bond, trashovations, no mither, and boons out I go.
Edit= Scene partner because as soon as I see a Steve am also bouncing. That perk is atrocious and not funny to me period.
-8 -
…Sprint Burst? Bond?
Those are some odd ones. Why dodge those?
4 -
So they are fixing backfill right?
3 -
Thank god. Been asking for this for several years at this point
-1 -
And I don't need to worry about people killing themselves like a crybaby because they didn't like my perks.
Win win, my friend.

Sole Survivor. Urban Evasion. Left Behind. Self-Care without Botany. Those are always my worst teammates (besides Megs) and really, it will take some willpower not to dodge them.

Bond= people sandbag when your on a gen by purposely running killer to you or other teammates on gens. They also sandbag by running killer to you injured who is injured, yet they are healthy or other injured teammates who just got unhooked. Finally big shocker, they use it to hide and let everyone die for hatch. They are 100x worst than distortion users.
Sprint burst= getting put in stage 2 hook from 1 exists still because people trying to save their sprint burst.
-4 -
I sometimes take Bond to counter Bond sandbaggers. It's crazy the things you see
1 -
That's a massive stretch on both counts, in my opinion.
I hope not many people dodge for perks this common and strong, or we'll have huge issues whenever this system drops.
4 -
What? I run bond for protection hits. And getting giga value out of it now with duty of care.
Bond also lets me know a lot of information on where to take chase away from teammates on gens and what not.4 -
Bond users love to sandbag at gens, and my god I've had so many Claudettes with Empathy run across the map (in chase) to me after I get unhooked and am at a pallet healing… in those situations, I decide I like the killer more than my "teammate": those Claudettes get a pallet to the face.
Edit: This is what I've personally experienced. Not a generalization of all players ever. I've had Bond users who used it to avoid people at gens, it's just less common in my matches.

Most folks use bond for sandbagging, myself included. This is the art of being chased and using teammates for "taking a hit" without prior authorization or volunteering. It's just what we do for each other.
-2 -
Well I agree with you like distortion swfs use them properly like my 4 man cept me since I dont use exhaust perks, they use those perks correctly.
Solo q however use them wrong just like how they cause distortion to be garbage now. See even solo can affect swfs.
We shall see how this goes.

That's very reasonable. Probably a notification in-game would be useful to know what perks are active in certain situations, in the same way that we get icons for things like open-handed.
In terms of perks ro fix, I was thinking mainly of No Mither, but a small number of other perks might fit that category too. For example, I ran Red Herring for a short time when I was trying to craft a meme-esque locker build. My opinion is that Red-Herring also needs a slight buff to be useful.
But you're right, some people will just dodge a lobby if they see a perk they don't like, which is definitely subjective.
Honestly, I find Pebble and Bardic Inspiration to be unusually strong in the sense that sometimes they can turn killers friendly, and at a higher rate than giving items. Also, I kind of like Pebble in the same way that I like Deception. Perks that can be used to trick the opponent seem fun to me :)
BTW, did you ever try to run Bardic + Mirrored Illusion? I've been thinking of sticking both on and bringing a Halloween flashlight, then try to get the killer to look at the illusion as I project a ghost onto the wall in front of them. Then when they turn around, pop out a lute. I might try it later today :)

The ol' "I'm death hook and yall haven't taken chase yet" maneuver
2 -
hate to be the one to tell you, but those folks will just use other excuses then.
1 -
😐
yeaaah. Sure.0 -
True, but at that point we tried everything. If people still load in and run killers into my invocations on purpose then they have nothing to fall back on at that point.

You're right, it does. I tried running it and found it way too limiting to be consistently fun.

Absolutely. There have been many times I made a friend by amusing the killer with the Lute and/or Pebble.

They are fun. I'm sooo amused when Pebble works. If I run a different build to help with a challenge, usually at least once during the match I'll search my pocket for a pebble and be like, "What? Nooooo." I miss it so much when I don't have it, now.
BTW, did you ever try to run Bardic + Mirrored Illusion?
My fourth perk is usually Mirrored Illusion. It's great fun. Killers don't see it often.
One of my most cherished memories with this build so far:
Not too long ago, I actually got a Basement Bubba. He made a big show of being a chest-guarding Basement Bubba (made sure I saw him entering the basement, then kept swinging at the chest and shaking his head no). My friend and I played our lutes for him, which he loved. We brought him items from other chests as offerings. And as the icing on the cake I put my Mirrored Illusion on the basement chest. He seemed very amused.
Man, ever since the addition of AFK penalties, I don't see enough Basement Bubbas. The really meme-y ones are good fun.

Well that's the crux of the issue isn't it? Survivors are balanced as if they are a team yet any individual can take builds that are actively detrimental to the goal of escaping, and BHVR continues to put perks like this in the game.
Let's take two Survivors who both queue for a solo queue match:
Survivor A - Runs meta perks, brings a strong item, plays efficiently, is altruistic, puts in effort to make a team escape possible.
Survivor B - Runs meme builds with no synergy, tries to annoy the killer the entire game (not in a useful way,) dies instantly every chase, spends minimal time on gens.
Nobody trying to win would ever want Survivor B on their team, there are a lot of factors that go into performance and obviously perks don't fully equate to skill or intent, but being able to see perks would allow people to consent to having someone like that on their team or not.
This would objectively lead to more lobby dodging, but let me ask you this:
Survivor B's choices are fully legal within the game itself, but are they respectful to the strangers on their team? Should people be able to queue in a PVP game while not caring about winning? Should you be forced to play with people who don't want to win?
It ultimately is BHVR's fault, there's no ranked mode in this game, the solution lies on BHVR as well to figure out, but I think people should try and grasp why someone would not want to play with a meme build.

Tbh I'd want a perk that hides my aura from teammates but the killer is still able to see me, as you said sometimes your teammates are the real killers lmao.
Even playing killer here and there I see this and like you seriously lead me to your injured teammate? I wont hook them if I hit them since I dont tunnel and that is the rare circumstance I slug so someone else gets them up.and go for the sandbagger.
1 -
Yea there is so many situations I am in where I need a button that spams
"Please stop following me"1 -

Sometimes I'd really, really like survivors not to see my aura if I use Plot Twist. The killer having Deer Stalker? Fine; I reserve the right to complain loudly to myself, but yeah, they countered my perk. My teammates bringing the killer to me, however, is beyond frustrating.
The day my teammates stop killing me will probably be the day DbD hangs up its hat and shuts off its servers.

Yeah, I try not to let sandbaggers get away with it: maybe I'll slug the victim, but I let them get back up. I am very, very grateful to every killer who does the same for me.

It is good that it is finally happening. This is just another step to bridge the gap between SWFs and Solos a bit. It wont bridge it by much, but it will help if you have somewhat competent teammates who can digest the information they are given. If I see that someone else has We Will Make It and/or Deliverance, I let them get the Unhook. Or I hope people see that I have Resurgence and heal me immediatly at the Hook before Hemorrhage removes all the Healing Process gained by Resurgence in three seconds. Overall it is a big plus since those are information people get for free.
There wont be any constant Lobbydodging because of No Mither or Sole Survivor. Those Perks are rare anyway, but it will not happen that suddenly Lobbydodging will be a thing. (That being said, I would not mind a penalty on Lobbydodging, both for Killers and Survivors. I dislike the fact that you can cherrypick your games, so having some measurements that people dont dodge too often would be fine)

I've said this before, but I'm not a fan of this upcoming change.
Not looking forward to the entire lobby emptying out just because I've got Self Care or a silly locker Dweet build equipped.
3 -
Yes lol!!!
1 -
not sure how to feel about this, feel like it may lead to a lot of lobby dodging.
4 -
I love running Scene Partner on Lisa Garland or Claire Redfield. Really funny to hear them squeking away
