Why doesn't DBD have killers that live in water or sea creatures?

Considering how badly the water in RCPD’s bathroom was optimised when the first RE chapter came out, I imagine a full water-themed map would brick more then a few PCs and consoles

Umm, its creative but definitely not realistic. Not "realistic" in being plausible in the real world, but "realistic" in terms of the scope of BHVR being able to adapt a water creature to the actual gameplay. I mean, would you be satisfied with a shark floating through the air all the time? Would it be realistic for BHVR to make every map appear as if it were under water every time Jaws is the killer? I guess it could be an effect similar to freddys dream world or dredges nightfall.

The best you can currently get are cosmetic options. Hag has a "Creature From the Black Lagoon" inspired Halloween-event skin from a few years ago, Dredge has the crab monster skin, and Billy has the Toad-man skin.

I think Jaws could very well function if instead of water you have him traveling around under the ground as if it was water. So survivors seeing his fin moving through the ground. He would basically just come up at attacks.

Yeah! I call it 'lobster dredge', but I think the thing sticking out the front looks more like a crab. Not necessarily a sea creature, but maybe the closest thing we have to it.

lol lobster dredge. agreed it is the closest thing we have, hope a sea type creature from the deep is on that mood board. Like some grotesque merman hybrid type thing from the trench.

We have the Creature from the Black Lagoon skin for Hag, and Lobster Dredge, as others have pointed out. Without any sort of body of water mechanics (would I'm certain would fry the game) the only thing I can think of is that a water based killer would be using puddles to get to and fro, a la Courage the Cowardly Dog style.

I've put a bit of thought into that idea. It would be really cool to have a Atlantean/fish man creature, like so:

But I really like the idea of a killer in one of those old diver suits, like so:
Especially with the diver suits in mind, he could have a Nightfall-esq power (Dredge's power), where the map is underwater for a time (instead of in darkness), which would slow survivors down, or if we're going with the fish man idea, speed the killer up. And then there would be these drain plugs that survivors could pull up to drain the water. That's about as far as I've gotten with the concept though.

I would personally love a Shark Killer, make it float over the ground and behave like it is experiencing the Fog as water.
and then get the Jaw's licence and make some skins for it.
