Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

How is 2v8 survivor going for everyone?

I played some matches after I got home from work today and hoo boy it has been a disaster. I’ve never in my entire DbD career experienced so many unbelievably terrible teammates. People getting downed no more than 5 seconds after chase begins, nobody working on gens, or sometimes just being AFK for the first couple of minutes. Just in my last match, I ran one of the killers for a good couple of minutes, figuring there would easily be a couple gens completed. After I finally got downed - NOTHING! What the hell were people doing? On top of that, every match has giga-buffed Oni downing 3 or 4 people at a time with a single use of his power.

Past 2v8s haven’t been even close to this bad on the survivor side. Is anyone else seeing this too? Maybe it’s just a big influx of brand new or very infrequent players at the very beginning of the event and they will fade away after the first day or two. I sure hope that’s the case, because this is 100x worse than normal 1v4 solo queue.

Anticamp was changed so if a survivor is near by the cage won't move. Survivors need to run away and leave the area. With ONLY the killer nearby the cage will move. Of course you have the killers who counted how many meters from the hook they could stand without giving you anticamp. So there's that.

Is herbs being removed intentional? There's no mention of this.

I think survivor is perfectly balanced, but we really need more classes. We could use a Boon class, a blast mine/chem trap class, a proper chase/distraction build etc.

I don't think we've seen any new classes since the first 2v8, only modifications such as giving Scouts Any Means Necessary. Now we have technically lost features with the removal of herbs

Most versions of 2v8 have been survivor sided. 8 Instead of 10 gens. Herbs that instantly heal and remove entire hook states, serious amounts of aura readings on the killer, notifications when your aura has been read even by stealth killers, gen speeds faster than lightning, survivors recreating pallets and god pallets. Both sides have to deal with their fair share of BS. 2v8 isnt meant to be perfect. They can fine tune the rest.

My wait time is 10 minutes to play killer on 2v8.

" You want a game that hands you victories because you don't care about balance or actual PvP gameplay, is all I'm seeing."

This is false. Just prejudgment/assumption of me. I never said any of that.

But you seem to have both sides of the story all figured out so I will just lay it here.

It's actually pretty good. I honestly prefer to play against Legion + Oni than Blight + Nurse

Anti camp doesn't work when a survivor comes within 16 meters of your cage. Your cage will no longer teleport after they come that close. Its been like that since the 3rd iteration

i've ben only playing killer because im playing with a buddy but yeah i think you're right in general it's the first day of 2v8 and i've seen the most baby players in on surv side currently like they barely know how to play the game might be a influx of ether new players or a return of verry casual players lol and five night at Freddy is the cusps of release so it might explain the new players if it's the case wanting to know the game

How do they have infinite power? If the answer is "Legion" then I'll simply respond with "medic class"

Quite disappointed. I thought the queing as a killer while playing as a survivor was going to be available for this patch, but with such a long wait, it is not worth playing as a killer for these short matches. They should at least aim for the regular mode match duration.

Yeah, against a good team survivors have a huge advantage. Way easier to split pressure, maps have a very large number of pallets, very loopable tiles, and significant buffs for each class. Unfortunately what typically happens is people load in and all sit in the corner until the killers show up and put insane pressure on everybody. Then when people get hooked they end up on the opposite side of the map. There's usually a least a couple survivors who lack the confidence to even do a gen, so they'll run from hook to hook and heal under the hook. Until the killers migrate back and everyone pops up on the other side, over and over until everyone is dead and nothing gets done. Its gotten to the point where I bring guide and the first thing I do is run to the other side of the map, just so that people know that it is possible to work on a generator outside of the killers terror radius.

dunno, my queue never pops as killer so I gave up and went back to normal mode

Yeah people need to split up when there's an Oni. He's constantly in power in my games.

Oni doesn't seem that bad, tbh. There are so many survivors knocking about that slugging really doesn't have the same impact as it does in 4v1.

    Legion, on the other hand…

I think I just played the most infuriating game of 2v8 to date. Everyone still alive at 1 gen left and I was the only person trying to get the last gen done. No exaggeration. I watched half my team die in that time while no one touched a gen. The Legion knew I was trying to get my gen done and he kept interrupting me. At one point I had a Vittorio finally show up and I tried to heal him but he was pointing at the gen (yeah I know mate, I've been battling a killer for it for the last 5 min while you did who knows what) and of course as soon as the killer shows up, I take a hit for him but he still goes down right away, and now I'm left injured. I ended up just letting the killer down and kill me just so I could get away from my team mates lmao

Can attest to this as I played Oni for the first match. Was 70-80% of the match, in power. Hell, there were 3 downs I got with my power, and I was almost immediately able to go back into Blood Fury..back-to-back-to-back.

As for survivor, not too bad so far..I faced an Oni/Legion & just decided to go next. My next 3-4 matches were all pretty fair in terms of match ups besides that. Only other gripe is people not doing gens and just snowballing the match early for the killers (just had a match where the killers got 5 hooks before a single gen completed).

    Only the first day though.

It's been fun. Not sure what the complaints are about.

i can tell you that Legion is actually not even a good combo with Oni because you are supposed to hard carry as Oni and basically play 1v8 due to Legion not being able to do anything other than injuring survs. Wraith can at least force rotations and melt pallets, Legion can't do any of that.

They may have realized the Survivor escape rate was a bit too high and tweaked it. They may have realized they over-estimated some things. Or it may just be an influx of super casual and chill players, new players, etc. I have seen some SHOCKINGLY bad new Ghostfaces in 2v8. I mean not even understanding how to stalk, it's not just Survivors.

Everyone's right that Oni/Legion is 100% problematic in this mode. Legion just isn't fun in this mode, and Oni on top of it makes it even worse.
