A question that has been haunting me for the second week now...
- What is the purpose of this icon in the rewards?
- Why not at least 100?
- What was the main motive?
Let the theories begin…

Typical BHVR.

Theyre just extremely stingy with shards for no reason.

I will never understand bhvr's motivation for barely giving us shards.

They want you to spend money.

It's a joke at our expense.

10 Iridescent Shards per week.
To earn the 9,000 Shards needed to purchase a single unlicensed character, it would take 900 weeks (17 years, 3 months).
To earn the 21,600 Shards needed to purchase a single Very Rare outfit, it would take 2160 weeks (41 years, 5 months).
It's a joke reward.
See you guys in October 2066 when I can afford to buy the latest Feng Min skin.

It's a trick, I assume.
You think to yourself: Oh good, I get shards too!
And don't notice the small number, saying it's only 10.
Edit: It should be 50 at the VERY LEAST. Probably more.

I think that, given Rift Fragments being rebalanced around units of 100, whoever defined these rewards worked under the assumption Iri shards were roughly the same way and were about 10x less numerous than they actually are.

Yeah, giving such a low amounts of shards and BPs makes no sense for me too.
I wish they could give us more, 10 shards when a full skin costs 21600 seems weird.

That needs to be at least 250, to be in line with rewards from the Rift.

”no reason?” It’s a for-profit company. They need to make money somehow, or else we don’t have a game. Giving away shards like candy would dramatically hurt their revenue because nobody would need to spend real money on the game except for licensed DLCs for which shards usually can’t be used.

then don’t give us shards. Getting 10 feels like we’re being cheated when if they just gave 0 shards and more BP people wouldn’t care.
its the fact they are giving such a low number that’s the issue.2 -
Hows that even an argument? A full cosmetic costs 21.6k shards, from Rift quests you would get 120 in total. Than you have to take into account how many cosmetics there are already available for shards. Its literally impossible to get them by shards even if you played all day and night to gain Shards by XP, cause the gain there is also stingy small. There is no reason you arent even able to buy one full cosmetic from Rift shards per Tome.
But sure, giving out a perceptible amount of shards during a tome would make them go bankrupt.
