Killer Bans
This is just a bit of fun, but a lot of games have character bans these days so if you could choose a killer to ban from being matched with you in your next match, who would you pick? To make it fair let's say you can't pick the same one multiple matches in a row, and don't just pick something obvious like The Ghoul. I could see Legion might be a popular pick, perhaps Plague or Freddy too, although Twins or Nurse I don't see enough to justify a ban despite them being strong but I could understand if someone picked them.

Only reason why It works in other games is because it puts you in a lobby first then bans are selected. DBD you pick your Killer then it searches for a lobby and you can't change. If this became a thing certain Killer players just wouldn't be able to play the game and you will just have dominant SwF banning the stronger Killers so they get easier matches against M1's.

other games are different in terms of bans. The way queues and matchmaking works atm makes killer bans impossible to implement

That's why I said it is something you would select before you start searching for your next match. There would also be restrictions on SWFs; like a pre-group could only choose and ban 1 killer between them to avoid it getting out of hand, and again they could not do this multiple matches in a row.
You missed the point where I said this was just a bit of fun though. We all have a killer sometimes we'd like to avoid, share it.

At this stage I have major Legion fatigue, like serious fatigue.
I already felt like if I never saw Legion again in regular matches I would be happy, now having them almost back to back in combination with Oni is beyond irritating. I am starting to develop a deep and passionate hate for Legion, when previously I could tolerate them once in a while even if I always find mending simulator irritating

That’s why it wouldn’t work.
As they mentioned, other games you all load in together and then ban the characters. Then you select who to play as.
In this case it would be that survivors select bans then load into a game against someone who isn’t banned. But the issue is that the killer players looking for a game are locked into whoever they chose to play. They can’t load in to a game, see the bans, and then pick a killer. They just get stuck with longer queue times.
Given the way the game is designed, this change would be pretty unhealthy overall.

Wouldn't work they would have to completely change how lobby's and killers are selected and it would just wildly inflate queue times

Exactly, I was going to mention how these would heavily affect queue times. I wouldn't warrant character bans at all, as most would opt to ban killers with high mobility or Legion (2v8 and people do not like mending) -- I don't mind Legion.
On the topic, I don't mind any of the killer roster. If you asked me a month or two ago (whenever Kaneki came out), I'd have said Kaneki but now that they have gotten nerfs - I do not mind them. I think killers all have their pros and cons, along with counterplay, so I wouldn't ban any of them even though Wesker, Billy, Blight, and Kaneki are probably ones I don't care for versing but still find enjoyment in playing against them in some ways as I know how to counter them. 😊
I know some survivors hate Singularity, but again I don't mind Singu.

I was humouring the person who question the entire idea to begin with. It's not a suggestion, never was, just some fun. Guess I expect too much from some of the DBD community…

I would love to have banning killers system. Probably one that let us ban up to 3 killers.
I would most definitely ban ghoul, blight and singularity. Gameplay against them feels uninteractive and boring.

Bigger issue is you have people who actually thinks it would be good idea. That's why it's better to point out those major flaws anyway, just to be sure.
