The concerns to the future of this game. What's your fantasy balance change for this game?
The FNAF chapter is coming next month, so exciting. I wonder does the mid-chapters provides huge changes like in 6.1.0. Chapter patches has some updates for current content, but very little. I'll never forget the excitment when the 6.1.0 was announced. Enormous numbers of balance changes. But there aren't updates as big as 6.1.0 since then. I really want to have an updates like that. Wonder why they only made that kind of huge update once.
Both sides going up against the 20-ish perk every game and the other 90% of the perks aren't given love makes the game stale. The grind to play this game at its full potential for new players are rising. There are flaws left in the game for both sides and in general. This game will have more attention like never before starting from the FNAF chapter, to keep but better yet to rise that number will be the question.
What kind of balance will be if it happpens? Just imagining balance changes are fun for me at least.

I hope for a giant overhaul of things you can get from the Bloodweb (perks aside, so Offerings, Items, Add-ons).

Matchmaking that actually functions

Good question.
I think most of the issues I have with DBD have more to due with overall design rather than how strong or weak they are. It has been this way since July of 2019, I'd say.
When it comes to balance, I'd like to see a few improvements for the survivor side, maybe revert some of their perks and resources back to what they used to be.
5 -
I really just hope the anti-tunneling and anti-camping changes are at least somewhat impactful, making those strategies less favorable.
10 -
I want to see a huge list of sweeping buffs to perks across the board like we saw long ago. So many are fixable through simple number changes, not developer time. We should be seeing at least 10 perks on each side getting buffed every patch.

I just want BHVR to do themselves a favor and update the damn core/coding of the game…. That way they don't have to watch everything break each patch.. That has to be tiring… :/
6 -
My dream balance change for this game is for BHVR to realize that maybe pig doesn't need to be nerfed and in fact maybe even needs to be buffed.
-8 -
They've been buffing Pig for like five years straight at this point, I think they figured it out.
If you don't count removing the aura of boxes, the last time Pig was nerfed was in 2019.
13 -
Huh I didn't even know that, I just assumed because people kept pushing the joke it was something that BHVR was still somewhat doing.

I would love for the game to fully move to servers, eliminate handling hits on The Killer's end, and implement Server-Side Hit Authority.
7 -
Actually functional anti-cheat would be nice.
15 -
Oh yeah, console-only cross-play would also be a dream!
1 -
A win condition not based on kills and escapes but performance during a trial.
6 -
Out of curiosity, how would you imagine that kind of change would be implemented?
Changing the win condition seems like a massive deal to me.
8 -
It is. It's probably the biggest change that could happen in dbd because it would involve changing up core mechanics.
A first would be to look at why killers tunnel and camp. Then start with those issues. Not particularly fixing them (if that is even possible) but to craft ideas on how to change the core gameplay up.
It definitely involves:
- gens
- Perks
- Stronger killers
- Weaker killers
I'm certain that something like this will not happen. We are 9 years into the game and this change would be too big despite feeling necessary.
In regard to mmr, I think it's rather simple? In addition to kills and escapes, count chase times, gens done effective usage of killer power,...
Something like that.
1 -
get rid of perk tiers nerf survivor meta perks across the board add swf action speed nerf buff m1 killers
-10 -
All killers sit at a healthy A-tier, and the average killrate sits at 50%
-1 -
She actually did just get buffed a little over a month ago. Her Terror Radius is only 24 meters again, just like her on release kit
1 -
wrong. Nerf her cause she got a head trap kill.
-3 -
- 50% killrate means average match is <2k.
- If all killers are "A-tier" in pubs as you say, that just means matchmaking needs to be tightened up severely so that people can truly understand how bad half of the killer roster is.
-1 -
No I mean killers are buffed/nerfed into the A tier strength level. These killers are insanely balanced with counterplay and no busted abilities. Ontop of these changes though, survivors would need some meaningful and interesting nerf/rework to gen speeds.
A tiers are mainly killers who move slower than 5m/s basekit with power, all S tiers are super fast, mobility being in all S tier kits and the problem for killers who are A tier or less. Wesker and Oni I'll exclude since their power actually has to be earned through attacks or through longer, balanced cooldowns. Someone like Nurse and Kaneki get their powers back really quickly and they give far too much distance too fast, which leads to the generational hate they get by survivors. If they were regulated however to be not so fast and not so often fast, then the game would be alot more balanced
As for your statements, how would any of this make the killers bad or weaker? Why would their killrates be 50% or less? Its more like minamum 50% should die and the other 2 would be situational. They would all be close in line in strength, essentially playing a certain killer would come down to playstyle and preference, nothing more (Oni and Wraith hit and run, Clown and Bubba resource forcers)
-2 -
Yeah currently this. The amount of bugs in the game and the new ones you encounter continuously in addition to poor quality of games due to matchmaking/ping abusing is just frustrating to the players aswell. Also and alternative game modes and introducing new objectives would breath life to it. (the current ones, chaos and 2v8 I really havent enjoyed)
2 -
Rectify the gap between solo and swfs. There's just certain perks and/or play styles that killers can employ that are completely uncompetitive against solo survivors. Similarly, a swfs lobby is much more likely to body the killer if they're actually focused on escaping not bullying.

I want big buffs for boons and that circle of healing gets self care with 50% self healing speed.
1 -
Nerf gen speed perks and buff regression.
Buff weaker killers
Improve ping connection
Improve Matchmaking
A big perk shakeup again
Map balancing
In game communication for survivors (either comm wheel or more emotes or local vc)
More voiced characters
FUNCTIONAL ANTI CHEAT
a way to earn auric cells in game.

I'd buff boons back to the way they were, BUT ONLY IF the Killer perk "Shattered Hope" was a base kit mechanic. So if Killer finds the Totem its gone. No perk required.
-2 -
For killers: A 5 second delay, beginning at a hit/injury, from M1 to M2 and vice versa. As an example, there is no situation where a Blight should be able to M1 and immediately down with M2, or a Huntress should be able to M2 at point blank and immediately follow up with M1. A 5 second delay helps to limit the frustration of oppressive powers by allowing survivors to actually gain meaningful distance from the intended injury speed boost mechanic.
For survivors: Endurance as a mechanic needs to be looked into. I don't believe it should ever be active while healthy. Additionally, the overwhelming amount of Endurance perks leave you gaslighting yourself and guessing if or when or what might be active. I think it should have a visual indicator on the HUD at least displaying that the status is active, similar to how Broken is displayed.
There's a myriad of perks or powers that could use adjusting, but I believe these blanket changes would be easiest to implement for immediate results.
-2 -
I‘m fine with that if boons get buffed accordingly.
That‘s what I suggested a while back.

5 seconds is HUGE in a match of dbd 1-2 seconds already is allot usually
2 -
Making tunneling and camping not possible from a gameplay perspective and dealing with how fast gens can go without gen defense perks (I.E. nerfing the perks, buffing the basekit). Nerfing certain structures like killer shack to be less strong.
1 -
For me… it'll be when they realize that the base game is crumbling and decide to re design it from the ground up
-2 -
Console only cross-platform is my DbD dream

Give the lowest tiers something to help with mobility, antiloop, or both if the focus is now gonna be on Dashslop Killer type powers anyway with stronger perks to handle them; this should have been done ages ago.
Balance and standardize items and addons for both sides to be more fair.
Eliminate stacking too much regression OR progression for generators - cap it at 25% faster or slower max, no more than that.
New items for Survivors to unlock and use in the Bloodweb PLEASE.
Bring Lights Out back every so often, but only the more balanced 2.0 version of it.
No more offerings, items, or add-ons allowed in Chaos Shuffle. Those are randomized now and only points offerings are allowed, others are banned.
New modes. LESS Chaos Shuffle when you don't know what else to throw at us to entertain us until the next chapter or event.
DO NOT design new events around testing a prototypical element like the Blood Gens were, that's not fun for everyone - do that in a PTB and just do something that is more equal for everyone.
Parity in the Abandon feature - either add Abandon options for Killers if the round is clearly not winnable anymore and Survivors will not take their win with grace and leave (or worse hide at the end), or make it so that any Abandon for both sides counts as either a loss or a draw for that side period end of. No more saying Killers lose if they Abandon but Survivors draw, that isn't fair.

That's the point. 5 seconds for a Pig is not equal to 5 seconds for a Blight. And in the case of a hit its an average of 2.3 seconds no power, since 2.7 is default hit recovery. This is way more reasonable than you realize.

yeah but this just strips every killer of their unique chase its oh i hit you… guess you make it to that safe loop without any danger…
