hatch opening before one survivor?
I just had a game where hatch had opened with one survivor on hook and the other running around, is this a potential bug due to the 2v8 and the spaghetti code broke or did dbd push out a new feature?

it's either a bug or a hacker but i would go bug. if this was a feature you would have heard about it everywhere. also, there's nothing in the latest couple patch notes about it either

Welcome back 4 man hatch escapes

was the hatch actually there and open, or was it a visual bug, maybe?

Goodness, that would be a worrisome change, if that was truly implemented.
Wait, it used to be a thing? 4 man hatch escapes? #########?

i think how it used to work
3 gens done if 2 surviors are alive 2 dead. hatch spawns they can both escape
4 gens done 3 can escape 1 dead hatch spawns
and all 5 i believe all them can escape with hatch

it didnt happen that much since nobody really brought keys. but the chance when a survivor got one from a chest was absolutely ######### annoying

It's kind of hard to believe this was ever a thing in this game eh?
Man it felt so bad when that happened as killer, was fun times for survivor though but woefully unfair

Yup, the hatch would spawn closed once there was more than one gen completed compared to how many survivors were alive (so for hatch to spawn while all 4 were alive they needed to complete all gens). With that in mind it was possible for 3 people to leave thanks to a key even if there was still one gen remaining.
In the early days before the endgame collapse was introduced, if there werent at least 2 gens done the hatch wouldnt even spawn, which could drag matches for way longer than they should be.
You also had what were called "hatch standoffs" where both a killer and survivor would stand on the hatch because who ever made the first move would lose the interaction. This was because closing the hatch wasnt a thing yet, and yoinking some one out of the hatch was a thing.

Rightfully so; keys were the "tunnel me" item. Randomly taking a broken key with no addons was a quick way to get buried as killers would make sure your team couldn't bypass the Generators
After that they'd have to check on your corpse since if you were swf your corpse was the most valuable thing in the trial
