What counts as a protection hit anymore
How is it this hard to take a protection hit. Isn't the idea to take a hit for a teammate? So why am I not getting them...is it because their healthy? If so then aren't it taking a hit to protect them regardless of if their healthy or not? I'm just trying to get an achi which requires the endgame to happen and take a protection hit but fun fact everyone is already healthy as is so I have no idea what to do at this point.

As far as the game is concerned, if 2 or more survivors are in chase and one becomes injured that's just a chase. A protection hit has to be an injury that helps to prevent a teammate from reaching the next step of elimination from trial. E.g. you are healthy/injured but you take the hit for someone else who is also injured to prevent their down. Or if you are injured/healthy and take a hit for someone being carried to prevent their hook.
You can't protect someone healthy or downed. It also doesn't activate with all killer powers. Generally if the killer uses their body/an extension of it then it should count as a protection hit. If you take damage from range, that would generally not count as a protection hit.

It's because I use 2v8 to try grinding the achievements but jebus is this one just not wanting to at least give me one.

Just look at wiki theres requirements what counts as protection hit and which killer power trigers it

I got this achievement in 2v8. If there are teammates at gate tbagging etc and get hit, even if they run out, there's a short time that so long as youre behind them and get hit it counts. Take hits for injured ppl upon exit, like running behind them. If a killer comes to hook take a hit for anyone injured, especially the person unhooked. Those 3 are the easiest way imo.
