Will Springtrap break this recent trend?
Dracula: As a wolf, can perform two dashes.
Houndmaster: Can make her dog perform two dashes to grab survivors.
Kaneki: Performs two dashes by default, becomes three when enraged.
I am starting to see a pattern here specially since they all came one after the other...

LOL I hadn't even thought of this, hopefully they do!

recent killer tend to have dash, projectile, recon and mobility all-in-one in their kit, it'd be interesting if springtrap decide to not have any

It'll go something like this:
If the new killer does not have map mobility and a good chase ability those in the PTB will pronounce them as non viable, and tell everyone so. That convo will start "Well against the survs I get every trial....."

It depends, if bhvr wants springtrap to be fun theyll probably give him a skillshot ability. It would be horrendous if they gave him a power the likes of skull merchant and the like. Genuinly a spit on the franchise if they do that. However recently they said the power has something for everyone, so my guess it will be some sort of vecna/dracula style power.

The recent trend for me is how many annoying killer powers can they release back to back to back.

Honestly, if he doesn’t have a versatile, low-skill, high-reward ability, he’s probably going to flop. But if he gets a high-skill, high-reward ability, which is the better option, most players likely won’t pick him up.

What's so annoying about Houndmaster, Dracula and Vecna?

Hound: The dogs vault speed is annoyingly quick leaving a very little window for counterplay. (Unless it recently was changed)
Dracula: Wolf form hitbox is insanely generous.
Vecna: He's fine now, but at release i hated him due to the mage hand thing. But his skeletons are currently kind of annoying i guess? mainly due to the hitboxes and how crouching doesn't ever seem to work for me.

Been saying this for almost a year. Every single killer added over the past several have some sort of dash or mobility built into their kit. They are effectively entirely abandoning the m1 no mobility design and making all modern killers have mobility, then balancing survivors around the assumption that all killers players will only play dashers (see recent haste buffs for survivors). It's BHVRs way to soft delete m1 no mobility killers from the game. Almost every feature added only hurts m1 no mobility killers. Anti 3 gen? Mobility killers can pressure all gens so don't get forced into 3 gens anyway. Anti facecamp? Only affects m1 killers as mobility killers can just dash back to the hook without meter progression. The new survivor perk that gives everyone area of effect sprintburst? Dashers can just catch back up easily.
So yes, springtrap will have aome sort of mobility, as BHVR wants people to entirely give up on killers like ghostie, myers, trapper, and so on.

unfortunately dbd players are like that, if the new character isn't easy to play and doesn't have an easy way to down survs they already assume that the character is bad, look at kaneki for example, when he launched he was very strong, now that the nerfs have come, and he is no longer so free, they already assume that he has become bad, but in fact it is the same for those who are good

Ah ok interesting. I enjoy going against Houndmaster and love going against Dracula and vecna which is why I asked. Your problem with Vecna is weird though, crouching in my experience always works. Maybe you just got very unlucky in your matches against him. Also never noticed the hitbox of Wolf being big myself.
And Houndmaster's dog's vault speed was indeed nerfed, it is now much more reasonable.

Vecna is pretty much fine now imo, i just dont view crouching as a consistent counter.
Dracula i still strongly dislike because wolf form hits seem really….. generous.
Hound is probably fine now then, if the vault speed was changed.

This is the sort of Killer design that Pixel Bush termed "dashslop", and it's genuinely ruining DBD - for lower tier Killer Mains, for Survivors, for anyone who likes variety, and for the fun of the game overall. It's not good. It's just not good design. It was fine when it was just Nurse and Blight, but it's gotta stop. It truly has to stop. The game cannot keep just adding more Killers with super strong kits that don't reward skillful play, something has to give. Either these Killers need an actual decent nerf, or the weaker Killer choices need strong buffs, but this can't stay this way.

killers having mobility is an 80s classic trope fact is, without some mobility killers are a laughingstock that arent respected due to comms unless they are incredibly dangerous that they probably arent fun to face. for me that would be Artist.
i prefer to judge by the full kit; Dracula is strong, but juking bat is fun and ill take that killer over the Houndmaster.

I fail to see how dash killers are immediately easy to use and overpowered, or how they are ruining the game and are unfun. Wesker is arguably one of the most balanced and fun killers in the game for example, according to the general communities opinion. Dracula has much more to his kit than just a dash ability, and that ability too is hardly op. If anything is too good on Dracula, it's his transformation from bat into wolf or vampire form. Though in my opinion Dracula is also pretty balanced.
Houndmaster I also don't really see a balance problem with now that they nerfed the vault speed, and Vecna was their last killer without a dash ability, which isn't that many killers ago. Kaneki is the killer that went too far with dash abilities, being broken especially on release. But he too can be properly balanced with the right number tweaks.
I do think it would be nice if Springtrap would not have another dash ability, that I would agree with.

Thematically it would make very little sense to give Springtrap a dash or projectile ability. It'd make much more sense for him to be focused on traps and stealth instead, plus we already have way too many of the former.

But... Huntress's hatchets, Dracula's fire, Nemesis's tentacle, and Pyramid's judgment of the damned all go through vaults basically instantly, hence why you should avoid getting stuck in an animation whenever these killers are readying their M2 attack.

Pinhead's chains, sometimes Slinger's gun, and Trickster's knives do this too. Some Killers it's better to hide against than loop.

I think he's just going to be a m1 style killer they don't want to make their biggest IP yet absurdly hard to pick up for the new players. He'll have some sort of demo portal like mobility with the doors if at all & the jumpscare like mechanic that might be some type of eventual mori. I could see a m2 power existing but most likely not.
