Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

in all fairness, the "upgrade" bundle to the switch 2 version at least includes other features, like kirby getting a new story (and zelda getting… an app), and while we can argue if they're worth the fee at least that can be justified.

i'd be very shocked if bhvr charged for what would essentially amount to a slight graphical upgrade to bring it up to par with dbd on ps4/xbox 1. and if all else fails, surely you can just play switch 1 dbd on the switch 2 without upgrading to specifically the switch 2 version, like you could do on ps5 by not upgrading the ps4 version to the ps5 version

There was no fee from Sony to grade from ps4 dbd to ps5 so maybe Nintendo do will do the same I think its more on the console designers and not bvhr themselves

It also depends on if Nintendo is giving the Switch 2 much better hardware than its predecessor. As I recall, the Switch was very underpowered, even when it was new, so no wonder why DBD ran poorly on it, considering how heavy Unreal Engine is to run properly.

yeah hopefully there won't be an additional fee to upgrade but even if they decide to charge an upgrade fee i wouldn't mind paying for it as long as they enhance it on switch 2

Yeah I'm going to need some more info because I wouldn't mind waiting closer to Christmas when there's more games out but I'm wondering if the crossplay will stay with 1 or if it would just be impossible to find matches.

Be nice to see DBD for Switch 2 perform at least as well as it does on the Steam deck. I think I read somewhere that Switch 2 will have similar specs, so hopefully performance will be equivalent to DBD on low settings with at least 60 fps.

That said, I don't actually think DBD runs too badly in handheld mode on a Switch Lite. I tend to view Switch DBD as the portable version of the game. The version I play mostly when I'm visiting my family and away from home. So I'm not in any hurry to upgrade to Switch 2 just yet.

Performance when playing docked is a rough experience and ping is consistently higher on Switch. It also looks pretty terrible on a big screen. If they can address those issues for the Switch 2 version, I'll be happy. I wouldn't even mind if we just got a flawless, slightly improved version of the current DBD Switch experience for Switch 2, though I'm sure it will eventually be upgraded specifically for the platform in time.

There's got to be limit to the number of system BHVR can realistically support though, so I guess we'll see.

If I were the devs I wouldn't waste my time. Switch 2 is goinna bomb hard. 90 dollar games. Basically no one should buy the switch 2 ever, especially when we have handheld PCs that do more for so, so much less.

Nintendo often change course if things don’t work out at first.

Looks like DBD has compatibility issues with the Switch 2. Hope they just make Switch 2 version, even though I play on PC and PS5, would be nice to play when I'm on the go. Please devs, just make it playable, because I've seen how trash it plays on Switch 1 in general, hence why I never bought the game on my Switch.

Honestly I don’t understand why Behavior wouldn’t have of announced a Switch 2 version.

At Eva of part 1 or 2 of the 9th anniversary streams.

Least announce it for NS2 so we know fans won’t be forgotten on Nintendo.

Unlike they did we cross save/progression not being fully compatible.

Which was an low blow by Behaviour after everyone else got it.

    Don't even think PS5 is getting 120fps.

Looks like they can't get DbD to work on Switch 2 at all. There goes my hopes.

I don't know. They released a list of games that are compatible from Switch 1 to Switch 2 and DbD is on the list of games that don't work.

Behaviour just need to make a nicely optimised Switch 2 version and at least announce they’re working on it!

I would happily buy and upgrade pack or a game key card version for Switch 2 if your listening Behaviour.

it doesn't say it doesn't work, it says starts up but has issues and is currently being investigated. Hopefully we hear something soon… I have a physical copy of the game and I already have a switch 2 preordered paid off. I will try it day one to see what's up. My hope was that they would make a switch 2 upgrade.

If they can't get the upgrade to work, I would gladly pay for a new Switch 2 version as long as my characters and data can transfer over.

Yep as long all my data and purchases crossover to switch 2 version from Switch 1 etc.

I wouldn’t mind buying a Switch 2 New DBD physical version.

    Behaviour hope you’re listening.

Considering how greedy they are and their lawsuit team bigger than their game development team they take 3 steps back then 2 steps forward after they stepped in crap.
