Is it safe to my account to play on SteamOS?
Hey just a shout out to the devs, i know that easy anti cheat is the weakest one we have on the market RN but i just wanna make sure that i can play DBD outside the Windows OS without a fear for my account. Since the windows 11 release there is so much bloat on this os that playing on linux OS already can give 20+ fps more.
Steam OS is the official valve operating system and is on a beta trial, but its already proven to drastically increase battery life on laptops and Portables like the steamdeck or the asus rog. Cyberpunk for example had 70+ fps difference for me.
Basically im planning to migrate my gaming space to this new system to get better performance, but there is still a small chance that the anticheat decides to go crazy, so im oficially asking for a green signal here.
Thanks

Yes, Dead by Daylight even has the Steamdeck verified logo on steam and once mentioned the Steamdeck in their patchnotes. Since the steamdeck runs steamOS I'd assume it is completely safe.

EAC won't flag Linux as a hack. It would simply not work if not supported.

I've been playing on Arch (what SteamOS is based on) for a very long time.
Sometimes you may get a EAC issue but you only have to restart the game, maybe after verifying the files, and you are back on.
