What are your thoughts about the new COB buff?
title
and here’s the buff incase you haven’t seen it

Not enough of a buff to be worth using. This is a difference of about 2 seconds iirc.

Just like the people said above me…
It's not good enough…

Regression is 0.25 c/s. Hitting a gen with say, pop at half, would regress it by 13.5 seconds.
To get 13.5 seconds of value out of cob you would need:
Old CoB: 216 seconds
New CoB: 108 seconds.
At that point, you may as well run literally any other perk. Base regression is just too slow for this to matter. They really should buff it back up to 200, and even then its probably still not worth it, but at least its decent at that point. They nerfed it a time they were worried about the gen kick meta. But that was more eruption doing the work rather than any of the other perks. They hit that meta too hard by nerfing all of the perks to uselessness and ALSO adding in the 8 gen regression limit.

It's a useless buff. That extra 25% regression is literally 1/16 of the normal survivor repair speed.

Just revert it back to its og version. 60 seconds and 200% regression.
1 -
glad people are seeing through this.
cannot be fooled by the "150%" looks like a big number, but it's +50% of barely anything.
6 -
Honestly 200% regression was only strong because there was no regression limit and also stacked with overcharge, in current dbd we can even buff it to 400% and still won't be that strong
4 -
It's usable now, and no longer among the bottom 10 worst perks in the game, so I call it a W.
-2 -
It's better and usable but needs to be more. Period. End of. It shouldn't have been nerfed to begin with, and certainly not to unusability.
BHVR has GOT to make kicking gens worth it and provide perks for it, especially for M1s. There is no reason a Trapper should ever be dry-kicking gens, he can't afford to. There is also no reason an Artist, a Ghostface, a Myers, a Pig, or anyone else with low or limited mobility should ever be dry-kicking gens. This perk just is not quite enough incentive to. And arguably, I shouldn't need to bring a perk to do this at all.
Just buff some more of the weaker gen perks, what is it going to hurt? Stacked Commodious toolbox players? Should we not have counterplay to that?

so we’ll just pretend like high mobility killers who stack slowdowns don’t exist?
-3 -
As if those things are related in slightest, there is no reason high mobility killers choose something like CoB over any other instant reliable slowdown perks, unless those perks are completely gutted
6 -
400% is just 1 charge per second.
I could see devs implementing the 400% but include a downside that the percentage lowers to 150% after 10 seconds have passed.
Or "CoB does 400% if the gen repair is above 80%"
Long story short, killers won't use CoB over instant regression perks

I ask chatgpt to construct a graph and i think the perk is still useless considering you need to wait whole 70 seconds, without any survivors to touch the gen, in order to have extra 8.75% regression…
It is not better either if you pair it with Overcharge for the first 20 seconds…. and I highly doubt survivors will not touch the gen within a short period of time, At this point, why not just bring pop and call it a day…

too low

pop has been garbage since they changed it from total to current there might be an argument that cob is better than pop
-5 -
I want it to work on multiple generators and make generators on which it is activated regress again when they are left alone (like ruin). The regression could be increased but I think this is the more boring way and maybe not the best idea.

Insignificant.

Not much fuor buff, should make it 200% and maybe it will be little usable b/tier perk nowadays.

I'm not so sure this is really that much better, but I also don't think this perk should lean into its regression side. Honestly, I think it's time to do away with it being a hybrid at all and lean into it being an information perk first and foremost.
That would still probably require a full rework, but it'd be healthier than trying to bring back passive regression for no effort. Even with the 8-kick limit stopping it from being broken, it's still not great for the game.

To be honest, it is how BHVR phrases it. If Ruin was phrased like "25% of a survivor's progression as regression" instead of "100% regression" very few people would actually bother using it.
4 -
i think pop is still way better than CoB considering it still makes a instant 5% total + 20% current. At least for high progress gen it is more significant. I dun think CoB can even compete with pop if the regression rate is too meh…
Will it be too op if CoB lose its side of being a info perk, but make the regression caused by anything 150% faster? I think even in this case it will not be to powerful but at least it opens more possibilities and synergy like ruin+CoB(which can be cleansed), oppression+CoB (quite RNG based) or something that encourages you to enter a chase to be rewarded like Surge/pain res+CoB (that requires you to down a survivor first).Post edited by boon_david_s_d on-1 -
Yeah, gen regression totally ruins SWFs with 4 toolboxes more than Solo Q, you're right

For those who thinks CoB is stronger, here’s the graph:
From the first look CoB might seem more powerful, but note that it requires time to do to and the graph assumes that no one touches it within a certain period of time, whereas pop takes the regression instantly. With gen in higher progress, pop still wins by a lot.

and if you take in mind that even Pop is simply not a good perk nowadays due to CURRENT progress regression and the fact it has been nerfed to 20% of current progression , this makes CoB even worse.
The thing is, passive regression needs to be much higher to actually get use of passive regression perks like CoB in shorter timespan, meaning 25% buff to CoB is literally a...nothing burger.

Gens regress 4x slower than survivor's repair them, with Call Of Brine it will be 3 times slower.

Isn't this a reversion? I liked COB on launch but DBD was a different game then so idk. COB was initially introduced to entice people to kick gens since at that point kicking gens was never worth the effort. Personally IMO the perk could be tweaked/buffed to have added "whenever a gen is regressing it regresses at 130/140/150% for x amount of time"

I mean, there are still better picks than this, I don't see this Perk being used much even with the buff…
If the Perk just passively increased regression of all Generators no matter from what they are regressing, I can see it having a lot of decent synergies with other Perks, but otherwise not really.
