Pallet Respawn
I'm new here so I wasn't sure where to post this
With anti tunneling, slugging and camping mechanics coming starting in July, another pain point for survivor is resource management. Resources are difficult to manage in solo queue, leading many players to use Windows of Opportunity. It is yet another advantage for SWFs to be able to call out which resources are used
The solo queue experience has improved but is still not great, and I think one great change to go along with these other amazing changes is a Pallet Respawn mechanic. I'm unsure of the specific time, maybe each pallet is on a 60 second timer after being broken, after which it respawns
The reasoning being another advantage of SWF over solo queue, the game is quite killer sided right now, and it would address unfun playstyles on the killer side. It goes hand in hand with 3 genning. While anti 3 gen exists, it is still possible to 3 gen, due to the creation of deadzones. A killer player can employ hit and run tactics, which are boring and not easy to counter in solo queue. They can do this until the resources are exhausted, especially around a 3 gen, and from there the game is unwinnable for survivor since every chase is instantly lost with no resources.
It is especially punishing for new/solo queue and casual players. BHVR's average chase stats from a few months ago have showed that the average chase time is 25 seconds at high mmr. With a pallet respawn after 60s seconds, it would likely not make individual chases unwinnable for the killer, but rather prevent the killer from dragging out a game to a guaranteed win. Additionally, it would help counter many of the "Free hit" killers that are only countered by predropping, and it would increase average chase time.
tl;dr pallets should respawn 60s after being broken to make resource management/lack of comms less punishing for new, solo queue and casual players, make average chase times higher for these players, make certain killers more counterable, and encourage more fun, fast paced games that are enjoyable for a majority of people

Then all killers should have insane anti loop and basekit noed+brutal strength basekit since its meant to start surrvivor sided bc of the amount of pallets wich should be depleted near endgame. Hence why rebuilding pallets in 2v8 is so strong so respectfully this isnt the way. Dont forget the game is 1v4 and bhvr simply CANNOT balance around soloQ bc if they did killer would be unplayable

Genuinely asking, how much hand holding do survivor players need?
Do you not see what you're typing and even have the slightest thought that "Hmmm, maybe this is ridiculous"? You're getting anti-tunneling, anti-slugging, anti-camping, 3 genning has already been patched out, anti-this, and anti-that…
Dawg. Like???

Hahahaha 😂
...No.

Lol 90 sec respawn time for pallets?
80% of killer base would play nurse what think?
2 -
Nurse is broken anyway so I don’t see how this is a valid response

Did you even read the post? Other issues exist

killer ignores loops and forces macro related counters, that doesn't imply that killer is broken at all.
Anyways, i think i've just read the worst suggestion ever
3 -
Nice nurse argument however how is the pig player gonna have to deal with 2 god pallets that spawn on rpd and then respawn...
4 -
This HAS to be a joke. I don't think even the most survivor sided person on these forums would suggest having pallets respawn by themselves 60 seconds after being broken would be a fair change.
5 -
Would be like saying a suvivor automatically gains a hook state after 3 mins
3 -
Ever had a killer DC because you went around with Any Means Necessary and picked up every pallet they didn't break?
I have. Gens weren't popping or anything, but damn did those pallets returning make those killers miserable.

Because respawning pallets are same idea as nurse.

You dont, you will have to eat them 2-3 times instead one maybe more if he suggest 60 seconds respawn.

Of all the issues with maps, tiles, and loops, this isn't solving anything.
I don't even think there should be a perk to physically rebuild pallets. Maybe, a new item type that was extremely limited, like one pallet maximum, but even then I don't think this has a place in the game.

If shack pallet could respawn everyone would run there everytime they got chased and the killer would lose 2-3 generators everytime someone goes there. Lack of resources on the map is what eventualy helps the killer to catch up in the late stages of a roundand there is alredy a perk that allows even 1 survivor to freely run around the map picking up all the pallets that havent been kicked which is why allot of killers will break a pallet every chance they get instead of chasing the survivor to the next one immediately

I wouldn't be surprised if it turns into a Perk at this point
2 -
It would stick around for 2 weeks to a month before it gets gutted to become unusable. That's enough time to get as many people as possible to buy a character.
2 -
But still it'll be a perk until BHVR decides to nerf it (might be longer then a month though)

That sounds like a wild overreaction. The game would still start off survivor sided and shift toward killer sided. As the game progresses, survivors are injured they have to heal, they have hook states, etc.

Survivors are the majority of the playerbase. While the killer experience matters, there are 4 survivors to 1 killer. Additionally, those were added because they were necessary, and this is another qol feature. Basic qol so new and casual players aren't dying at 5 gens or being held hostage in an unwinnable game isn't "hand holding." I suggest you have more sympathy

Pig was a killer that needed a buff anyway. I don't think survivor should lose out on beneficial changes for new and inexperienced players just because weak killers exist. That's a separate issue that can be addressed separately. I don't think they're mutually exclusive

A perk is a compromise but ideally it'd be a base feature

Maybe 60s is too short, 120s. Point is it hurts boring and unfun playstyles and helps new and casual players

Brother it being 4:1 is the exact reason WHY survivors don't need so much hand holding. You're at an automatic advantage.
Stop hand holding players and let them learn to play.

But that's the point… anything that we think should be in the base game has been turned into Perks… and yes the other way around

Against killers like Nurse or ghoul this idea is actually quite balanced and would take horribly broken killers to somewhat balanced.

Had to go back and check the mettle of man dates. That's probably the best example of a perk that was released OP, then got nerfed shortly after. It lasted about 2 and a half months. A perk that passively respawns pallets after 60 seconds of being broken would probably affect things WAY more though. I usually eye-roll when ppl say a change will cause everyone to swap to nurse/kill the game but... No one is playing a killer who has to deal with pallets if the pallets become unlimited.

I'm thinking of it working like AMN… Survivors have to grab parts from destroyed pallets then spend about 10-15 seconds to rebuild

New and casual SURVIVOR player because this change alone would wreck and turn away nooby killers.
Have you even thought about this from any other angle than the survivor perspective?
Against semi decent survivor 1-3 gens pop until the fist hook, where they have all their resources to drag ouz the chase.
Now imagine 60/120 seconds into the match with 2-3 gens left, the survivor suddenly have all their resources AGAIN and the killer will need another lengthy chase to get someone on the hook. Which gives the survivor another opportunity for 1-3 gens to pop.
An average match lasts how long? 5-10 minutes? That would mean survivor get ALL their map resources back either 5-10 or 2-4 times PER MATCH.
I really wish they would implement this change, no questions asked, only to show you how the game would implode in days.

It would be fine if you had a perk like that that involved player interaction. Then you wouldn't have some mapwide auto entity rebuilding effect for the whole team. I'd say slap a decently long cooldown and have rebuilt pallets return as downed pallets and it should be fine.

Agreed

This change would destroy all m1 and above only ones that can deal with this are nurse, very skilled blight/billy maybe singularity and dracula and all other killers would need antiloop tool on xeno/nemesis level.
