How long do maps stay? (licensed)

I am just curious how long licensed maps normally stay before they are removed. I ask because of the stranger things situation where the map was removed after licensing issues.

Will all licensed maps going forward be permanent or do they have to be removed after a license expires?

    I don’t believe that any license is permanent, but I would assume that all maps will remain in the game until indicated otherwise by the devs. The ST map was removed, but when the license was reacquired the map was re-added.

    Yeah, I know no license will be permanent because no one would ever agree to that. But I wasn't sure if the maps will stay in game from now on as part of a deal or something.

    Just something I was curious about for sure. For example FNAF the new map, will it disappear at some point or will it be a permanent addition to the game?

    Yeah if they lose a license then the content can't be available anymore. For free stuff, like the map, it has to be taken out of rotation. For paid stuff, like characters, you can keep them after it goes unavailable, but the content is removed from the shops so no one can buy it going forward. That's how it works. Theoretically speaking, if bhvr never loses the license, then yeah a license could be considered "permanent." However, every licensed map runs the risk of being removed just like all licensed survivors, killers, and cosmetics.

    Thanks for all the feedback. Makes sense. I know BHVR said they were going to start including things in future contracts after ST but I don't remember what that was.
