Why do survivors say "GG" or "EZ" when they win, but say nothing when they lose?
I always say GG after every match even when the survivors insult me.

A lot of the time when survivors lose they don't wait for the match to end they just insta leave
That's if they aren't the last to die anyway.

Survivors tend to do this more than killers, seeing this from year 2017 when Ochido was very popular dbd content creator.

This is standard. Team 4 outs you? GGs WP!!!! all around. You beat a SWF and they're all still in the lobby? Crickets

I find that the game is currently in a state where losses feel a lot worse than they used to for both sides, I wouldn't say that this is a survivor only thing.
11 -
I'd say this isn't unique to survivors, or even DbD for that matter.
10 -
They leave when they die, they don't tend to hang around.

i saw gg even if i'm the first out the only times i don't is when i'm killer

Surviors die and leave the game one at a time. The killer will always be the last to reach the score board if they win, where dead survivors have left, and they will be last when they lose where all survivors have escaped. When all the survivors escape, they are likely to all be on the score screen and will have a superior group mentality against the killer, hence the gg ez prevalence and lack of ggs when they lose.
Not an us vs them issue, just human nature being disappointing again.

Is it really bad sportsmanship if you just quietly move on to the next match after dying? Especially if you die extremely early?
7 -
Mostly the reason will be that they didn't win and therefore they are just salty they lost. I personally always write ggs, interessting enough I found some people that think saying "ggs" after a win is to provoke and mock them - the discussions are pretty fun if they want to tell ME that I shouldn't say that because it's not nice even tho I always write that lol. (Interessting enough this doesn't seem to count if they win btw xD)
General rule for is: First comes the "ggs" then the beef, even if I lose brutally and got bullied contantly I do that.

Yeah I was about to say, it ain’t just survivors that do this.

Why do killers say "GG" or "EZ" when they win, but say nothing when they lose?
2 -
- it's just logic, if i die 5 minutes before the game ends, i have to wait for everyone to finish to say "gg" to the killer? it's normal that when a victory is the killer, there are only 2 or 3 people left to interact and possibly say "gg". it's not being rude, it's just that most people want to play.
4 -
I've not seen a lot of Killers do this when I am Survivor, though it certainly does happen.
-4 -
That's my point, it's pretty even for survivors and killers. You're a little more likely to have an opponent interact with you with you in general when playing killer simply because there's 4 different people to possibly interact with you but generally speaking the quality of the interaction you have is roughly the same whether you're playing killer or survivor in my experience, and therefore you could say the same exact thing about killers that OP has generalized about survivors
6 -
This is also certainly true, not helped by this being an asymm game and thus the average Killer possibly getting this four times in one round, but the average Survivor getting this possibly four rounds in a row. The feeling is the same. Bad. The feeling is bad. This feels bad.
Hence why there needs to be some kind of chatbox filtering of "ggez", stuff that removes hardcore griefing by tunnel/slug/camp at 5 gens (which is coming), and stuff that does something about wasting Killer time by hiding or sitting in the exit gate to rub it in (not Just Leaving).
1 -
That is only because every match of DBD has 4 survivors and 1 killer, so you're more likely to encounter a toxic survivor instead of a toxic killer.
If the game was 4v4, you'd see both in equal measure.

Us Vs Them post

If survivors die, they're generally not gonna stick around til the match is over. Killers on the other hand obviously are ALWAYS gonna be present til the match is over. It's not that deep.
7 -
are the survivors in both scenarios the exact same players or are you just generalizing by pretending as if survivor players all act as one collective monolith?
9 -
Killers do it ALL the time, especially in higher elo when they crush players. This forums loves to slide stuff one way. I'm noticing a trend :/
1 -
100% this question works both ways. Killers are guilty of it too .

Survivors could say "BG" for bad game!
Honestly i hate gg and the spam it hás. I hope it dies out One day.
It Lost its meaning ages ago. With how bad its usage is.
-1 -
Yes. Thats why i hate gg. Its RARELY used for 50/50 matches. Ppl ONLY say it when they win
And when its a stomp its Toxic af. You're just saying destroying 4 players was a good game for you. Might hás well had ez to it.
Its just cringe Overall.
Back in my day people spammed the world noob, but when games where won at least Theres was effort in the chat with people telling eaxh others they did great and game was fun etc.

Gg killer you got a 4k on a game that is killer sided with a 60/40 match maker! At highest mmr mind you. At average mmr its probably 70/30
Or gg survivor Squad that break the game by being on all comms.
-1 -
Just cause you got 4 outed doesn't mean you played bad!!! GG WP killer!!
-1 -
because survs as a demographic tend to be insanely salty
-4 -
The original argument was "the majority of survivors already left before they could say gg"
But now with the new endgame chat change where earlier chats are saved, I still never see ggs (other than from people who escape through Hatch, they usually gg)
-3 -
This argument no longer works. As with the new endgame chat change, earlier chats are saved. So they could say gg and go next?
-1 -
Wait… I'm reading the other replies and no one seems to know that endgame chat got updated where earlier chats are saved. Guys, if you die you can type "gg" and everyone gets to see it later. Am I missing something?
-3 -
But why don't they type gg before leaving? Your argument no longer works because of the endgame chat change where old chats are saved.
-2 -
No one cares. I don't type gg as survivor or as killer unless there was some special interaction that made the match unique
6 -
It's not an "argument" its literally what happens for most people.
Survivor queues are instant so as soon as they die they just click continue and re queue.
5 -
Another "us vs them" post. :/
2 -
If we're just going next, we're not going to see anyone else say GG or anything else, so what's the point?
5 -
There's also the very real possibility people only say gg if they had a fun match. That doesn't mean they say anything horrible/toxic either, just a simple "eh, I didn't enjoy that one. Onto the next one"
6 -
Habits don't change that quick. The way it used to work for almost nine years was that it wasn't safed and the killer couldn't see it. Give people time and you will see that it becomes more common for people to comment before they move on.

Whilist I generally believe we can engage in this post without resorting to incivility or sweeping generalizations meant to antagonize, this does not appear to have gone that way. Rather than spending a lot of time coming and cleaning up the comments, we will close this thread with the reminder to keep posts on topic, constructive, and civil. Thank you!
