Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

First Off i want to say that it is located on reddit. I am not sure if I can post links for other places so I didn't post it. I also want to note for my pinhead lovers like me, he stated if he can come back they will get him back! So that's great news. I don't know if this is old or not so I just wanted to share! I didn't see it talked about yet

Main points however,

Mathieu reaffirms that working with Scott for the FNAF chapter was very different, but also very nice. He was very present and involved throughout the creative process and development of the chapter.

-Mathieu said that since the beginning they wanted to do the darkest and most evil possible version of Springtrap since up to that point the FNAF franchise maintained a PG13 rating.

-Mathieu is asked about why they didn’t include a survivor in the FNAF chapter. He says a lot of factors play into these decisions and one that stood out was that FNAF protagonists are always played from 1st POV, which didn’t highlight any immediate recognizable candidates.

-Mathieu admits they could’ve done a survivor, but they chose to focus on the map and Springtrap.

-Mathieu says Springtrap’s power was difficult to create, and they needed all the time available to do it. He also says the survivor experienced was really important when playing against him, promoting an innovative gameplay experience.

-Interviewer asks Mathieu if working with Matthew Lillard led to other projects with him in DBD (for example GF or Scooby Doo). Mathieu tries to dodge the question, commenting that licensing deals are very delicate and secret. Also adds that actors, most of the time, don’t have the rights to their own characters.

-Mathieu confirms that when doing a likeness for DBD, the actors have the final say to approve or deny their work (they can say whether the face look like theirs or not, so that the devs may capture their likeness better or greenlit it).

-Mathieu is asked about FNAF skins for OG characters, responds that the problem with that is the gameplay loop would have to match with the FNAF characters otherwise it wouldn’t make sense.

-Nonetheless, Mathieu confirms that it is possible that it could happen but dismisses Vanny as a legendary skin for Legion.

-Mathieu says that the massive reception FNAF had motivated them, saying that it helps them to pursue future content for the FNAF ip in DBD.

-Mathieu confirms the axe Springtrap has was brought up in conversations with Scott he can’t talk about due to confidentiality, but says it was all approved by Scott himself. Also jokes about the axe being part of the FNAF canon now.

-Mathieu says that during development they had other versions instead of the axe, but it was agreed that the axe was the better one.

-Mathieu says that the Japanese community was very passionate about DBD since its release and DBD loves the Japanese community. This passion was also what led them to do The Spirit and Oni’s chapters, as well as introduce Japanese ips such as Tokyo Ghoul and Junji Ito.

-Mathieu confirms they’ll keep doing collabs with Japanese licenses.

-Mathieu says adding Robert Englund’s Freddy as a skin is very difficult and a nightmare due to the licensing it has to be done. He also says getting 2 companies to work together is very difficult.

    And a 'nightmare'.

    I see what happened there.
