Springtrap got nerfed
So apparently many of Springtraps add-ons have gotten Nerfed and added downsides to his addons with the nerfs.
The heaviest of add-ons hit was the haste add-ons and second alot of add-ons now include a downside of -50% undetectable when leaving the doors.
So far only 2 add-ons were buffed which were browns

That's kind of the point of the PTB. It's not supposed to be the finalised product. They put it out to testing and make changes based on their own data as well as the feedback from the community testers.

I might be mistaken but I think his base-kit got slightly nerfed too, from the videos I have seen, his cooldown seems to be longer when he axes a Survivor by around 2 seconds.
1 -
Oof. I am really worried about the Patch Notes.

Still sucks when even mid add-ons get destroyed for no reason though
4 -
If there would be no reason to nerf them, then they would be nerfed. It should be obvious that the Devs thought those Add Ons were too good, even if you might disagree.
5 -
bc the devs listen to much to data instead of player feedback and then i dont mean little timmy who cant loop the killers for 5 gens and then proceeds to cry about every little detail
4 -
Right .... That's why they proposed the changes to artist?
5 -
I mean… Yes? The Devs dont just do things because one side complains or not. Otherwise we would have had a lot of Survivor-Perks nerfed into the Ground and a lot of Killer Perks nerfed into the Ground as well (plus a lot of Killers). The Devs act if they think they need to act. This might align with what people are asking for or not.
But for some reason on this Forum, people act as if it is enough to have three Survivors complain about something to get it nerfed.

To be fair. The alien rework originally as well. To have everyone say "aliens too weak currently" to then try to nerf them again to the point like they had no power. To then realize how bad their mistake was a buff tf out of them for live release. I wouldnt say all changes are the best.

Nothing special, just dont you know how is it with artist addons change, are they valid or not (they gutted all her addons just to get more addon variety for her old bhvr fassion).

Eh if it's too much nerfs hey'll make him do stuff 0.2 seconds faster a year from now
1 -
It would seem the devs are looking into killer item and chest spawns, which should be a buff to ST and also fix Plague, Sadako and Xenomorph pain points.
So that's something to factor in.
2 -
Never said that all changes are the best. The person I initially replied to said that things get nerfed to no reasons, which is just wrong, since the Devs apparently have reasons.
2 -
Would be great for the devs to tell us these reasons instead of blindly nerfing things out of nowhere so we can correct them on their mindset/approaches to changing characters.
We still dont know why Artist, Merchant, Billy, Twins got their nerfs.
4 -
It is incredible entitled to think that you have the knowledge to correct something the Devs do.
EDIT: Not saying that all their changes are a hit, but they are also not all misses either.

I too would like transparency behind the balancing philosophy, but unfortunately I don't see that being the case from the devs. In my opinion, they have spreadsheets generated for every addon/perk combo, and ones that deviate too much from their target win ratio gets nerfed.
This is why it often seems like there's no rhyme or reason, because there isn’t most of the time. It's like twisting a bunch of knobs on a machine that you have no idea on how it works, and trying to achieve a specific result. Most of their data is correlation not causation, so they take their best educated guess on more obscure nerfs or buffs to compensate, while also cross referencing projected changes to other combinations. At this point, there is too much to balance. In my opinion, killers shouldn't have addons but 3 or 4 loadouts that mimic specific addon combos.
Other changes are way more apparent. Kaneki for example was completely broken and it doesn't take a spreadsheet to figure that out. This unfortunately isn't very common, so most changes end up being weird number tweaks that do nothing, or complete reworks because the thing in question became too problematic to balance among everything else.

Those 2 haste add-ons were busted. Poster giving %20 haste to the killer and one survivor was way too much and made it way too easy for the killer to chase and hit someone else that didn't had the haste. The Foxy hook and the others didn't get hit so hard with the nerfs that's what the PTB is for final testing before release.

Celebration Poster and Foxy Hook were not mid Foxy Hook was half of Clown's power in an addon

the haste change to foxys hook was fine the duration isnt now you basically cannot use it on longer loops… also the "chase" someone else during celeb poster is a straight up lie as the person who got axed can either run 32m away from them remove the axe manually or just do both at the same time. oh wait thats too much thinking nvm
-1 -
Except you could also chase the person with the axe and haste benefits killers more so it cut down chases incredibly fast
-1 -
To be fair, sometimes you can have a better understanding of something in DBD that no one else has, not even the balance team.
I can think of one perfect example, my dear friend. Just look at my pfp.
0 -
so the celebration poster and foxy's hook the fun add-ons got nerfed. unfortunate
1 -
yeah so??? if you chase the original person they get hast aswel sure the killer benefits from it but remember its both a purple and a killer addon not a survivor addon…
0 -
Okay so there's also this thing called balance and just because it's an addon for a killer power doesn't stop it from being overtuned
-1 -
but it wasnt overtuned thats the thing.. sure even if they altered the haste abit (celeb to 15%) (hook haste is fine) but the fact that they all get the haste is just dumb… its like saying the killer gets haste when a survivor uses sprint burst. And for foxy's hook all they have to do is increase the duration to like 5 seconds and it wil be perfect for both sides (since both get the speed boost aswel so if its misplaced it can be easily used against you)
-1 -
Considering the dumpster fire that was 8.3.0, I can confidently say that yes I can correct the developers on balance changes while accounting for all player experience levels.
1 -
Sure, but the way it was worded it sounds like the Devs are doing most of the things wrong and need to be corrected. While the reality is that most changes are good, but people focus only on the bad things.
I also dont think that Freddy is a good example to be honest. Since the Rework was appreciated by the majority of the community and only in hindsight it was seen how bad the Rework was. Sure, there were some people who did not like the Rework (e.g. you), but those were really in the minority back then.

And devs can be wrong especially in alot of decisions they made nobody complained about these add-ons we just got a give feedback and get them fixed
0 -
Those was his best add-ons I'm talking about his undetectable addons or office phone addon
0 -
only in hindsight it was seen how bad the Rework was.
But I did it from the start, friend.
Can I, alone, tell you that I can easily fix the entire game? No, not even close.
But Freddy? I can.

Ofdice Phone got a large buff to it's radius tho.
It's a trade now.

His speed add-on get nerfed into the ground.
