Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

I don’t get it? I’m trying to play the way I saw online but I’m making so many stupid mistakes and then I can’t even down one person without losing 3 gens and there claiming he’s A tier?

    am I missing something here?

He is hard thats all you need to know. Just run addon that shows you how your axe works.

    Yeah it feels rough.

Granted we are still learning but every game has been cocky teams clicking at me non stop body blocks an tea bags galore don't know how i'm supposed to learn this new killer.

Must be awful if new players are getting picked on by teams us long term players are use to it by now lol

The tip is to simply play huntress... good now that we got this joke (well not really because he feels like a huntress with broken arms, and I believe her to be stronger simply because of better handling and bigger range xD) out our way we can talk about what I found out:

The undetectable is really insane especially with the addon Increasing it by 50%, so teleport as often as possible - you don't have any cooldown, so searching normally is a waste.

I don't really do that but I guess only pick your axe up if you really need it, otherwise the speedboost is better to search and follow people.

Use the drop of the axe to your advantage, you can throw much better over stones and other objects than huntress.

Sometimes you can make survivors panic by holding your axe, the cooldown isn't too heavy so use it.

And for the last one even if you already know that probably: go for shots as often as possible over objects - the more you try it the better you get at guessing how far and in which angle it comes down.

Only wished I could help, but so far my experience with him has been one painful reminder of why I don't play ranged killers.

Played 10 games tonight, 8 against springtrap, escaped through gate in all 8 games.

That's not trying to rub it in, for the most part i'd say its just a learning curb, when blight released I didn't lose to one for weeks! (Now very much closer to the 40% escape rate!)

I have barely seen any killer use the doors, & I haven't seen any survivor use one at all! I'm 100% solo so I'm just going to do gens, unhook if nobody else does, run away from gens people are fixing & get out (yes I realise a lot of solo players do the exact opposite of all of those)

Me going through a door, personally seems way more risk than reward, his axe feels harder to dodge than hunteress but he's usually really close, & it probably helps most are learning & running adept perks.

The only real close games have been the usual meta builds against killers that definitely know what they're doing.

So again all i'd say is if its a character you want to play a lot with keep at it, test a few add ons see what works best for you, & hopefully your results will improve

Use his long timed stealth to your advantage, he can move around the map through doors and get undetectable for 20 seconds easily giving you free hits, and save ur axe throws for when someone vaults or drops a pallet - if you arent able to aim it well while they are running. The movement speed increase while not holding the axe can also be used if someone is looping you around something small

He is slow killer. His axe shot is also very tricky to use.

You pretty much depend on addons that increase your speed. He has 2 of such. A perk that can help you increase your speed also helps.

There are two ways to play him right now - stealth ambush which involves going through doors and catching survivors off-guard. This is 50-50 because it won't work against vigilant survivors, but against gen-huggers it can give quite good results. Still you depend on how well survivors can loop and where things did spawn.

Another way is going for an aggressive chase. You can use Axe as haste boost by throwing it before yourself and with certain addon you will be able to catch up with survivor in a loop. The downside is that survivor too may gain the bonus from the axe ( stupid idea to let this happen ) but if you do it right, it can be that extra help that you need mid chase. However, quite often you may need to land some hits on survivor or else you will get looped forever.

To sum him up - he is B- tier killer who has to rely on very poor survivor performance and who's power and addon's can be used against him. His teleportation ability can be used against him as well. He was selected to be added into roster of killers for very obvious reason, unfortunately there's nothing original about him and he is currently extremely gimped for M1 killer with unreliable global mobility and almost no anti-loop presence.

A classic buyer bait mate where some people make killer look easy or fun by either playing chill games with friends or against clueless opponents. In reality such killers quickly get put down by opponents who know how to loop or use the power against killer himself.

Hit & run with doors (use info perks, Face the Darkness is probably his #1), (mostly) only go for safe hits/zone on controller since missing is so punishing and we're still stuck in the stone age when it comes to controller implementation.

I do wonder how much the survivor audio bug is affecting the strength of this playstyle. Not being able to use doors to rotate/reveal his aura without ruining your directional audio is tough.

Ppl have mostly said everything, but one biggy imo... he moves fairly fast still while holding the axe out so take your time. You move at 96% survivor speed while having the axe cocked back, and survivors are likely gonna try weaving left and right to try to dodge. Feel free to just hold itfor afew seconds.
