Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Do survivors actually use the security room doors to travel?

I've been using them a ton as Springtrap tonight for transit purposes but have only caught a survivor using them twice tonight, and once was where I was going to down them anyways so they just used one right in front of me to get grabbed for the lulz.

Yes, in fact game encourages you to do so.

Once you memorize which door to use, you can traverse entire map without any risk when you see anyone being chased by the killer.

Combine doors with map and have a fun time.

I have been playing Springtrap a lot since he came out yesterday and I still haven't caught a single survivor using the doors. He is not a much threatening killer, so although there are benefits for using his mechanics, it is entirely optional as you can pretty much always beat him just with survivor's base mechanics. RIP the achievement though.

I haven't used any nor do I see any real reason to do so, risk vs reward isn't particularly worth it, can't ne used in a chase, maps aren't nearly as big as they were so traversal time saved isn't huge, & I've been playing for over 8 years I know my way around maps just fine.

At this point i'd virtually guarantee if I went in one i'd get grabbed as thats my luck!

    • I only used the armored door once out of curiosity... I saw how it was, and then I never used it again. Too risky and also a waste of time, better to spend that time to repair a generator. As someone already wrote, maps are small, there is no real reason to use the armored doors. This mechanic is a tool for killer, not for survivors (my opinion)

If you are scared the killer will grab you then use them the same way as solving pinheads cube plus when someone is in chase, nothing is more funnier when at the start of the game meg use them and she gets insta grabbed.
