Camping best strategy to depip survivors
This is literally the message I got from the killer. Is this a thing now? People used to complain about campers but to me it was like "yeah whatever" but now that there are changes to how survivors pip is this the new "toxic"?
Just wondering if any killers out there know about or can verify and if survivors have gotten any msgs like this...? Thoughts?

Haven't seen or done it, but it stands to reason. Can't do gens, unhook allies, or escape on the hook.

If you can believe the survivors on the forums, then DCing is the best strategy to make a survivor depip. Cant verify though because killers never DC in my games.
But other than that, yeah camping might be the best strategy if you wanna make a survivor depip (gotta use leatherface though).

Face/ close proximity camping has drastically increased in my games as Survivor. I onxe had it happen 3 games in a row. And then I get unhooked with them within lunging range and they just whack me down because NOBODY seems to want to run Borrowed Time anymore 😐 and Killers rehook and return to their camping spot. No matter if I looped them really well, decently or when I potato run...no teabagging or flashlight clicking....they jua camp and don't care.
Either it purely to ruin a Survivor's game, to depip people or for themselves to depip/safety pip...its getting as bad as the DCing fiascos going on

I didn't say camping was new. My question was @MegsAreEvil the msg saying that they, the killer, are doing to purposely depip the survivors and asked if anyone's come across this.
It appeared from the msg anyway that was the goal and not really game play. Have you come across this?

I've noticed camping is waaaaay up. This is why I asked the killer why they ran gen tracking perks if they were gonna face camp and that's the message I got. I get it if you run a something like insidious... @Nikkiwhat

Camping is always meant to ######### up the surviver. The depip is just a bonus to them.

Yes some killers are doing it now because they can't pip as easily so they want to grief everyone else along the way. But then some will cause depips but also pip by camping because they can rehook constantly.

@powerbats Yeah stinks that killers are now griefing survivors who want to play. This is what leads to survivors just dcing to get the L and game over quicker.
To be clear I don't condone dcing, never have, but with griefing like this I don't blame people who would.... I just like my BP 😂

Yeah it sucks, I've even told some killers they lose points and won't pip and they should move away from the hook, patrol etc and get more bp. They don't care, they can earn 5k or even as low as 2-4k and don't care.

@Nikkiwhat so basically reinforcing the dc epidemic killers cry about. I mean now we are def depipping so I get why some folks dc when a killer refuses to play and face camps.
The worst is those that face camp and hit repeatedly on the hook 🙄

That's funny you mention that. I literally had a Wraith face camp and smack me multiple times, including after chasing off a rescuer they'd run by and smack me again.
I still consider myself a Killer main, though I play Survivor a lot and....for this to becoming more rampant and standard practice for Killers is just asinine. And before people leap for joy to go "Well it is a strategy and the game allows them to do thiiiiis" it kills off the game's ability to be fun and slowly...will leak players playing if they wait to get into a game and then be face camped within the first few minutes, get jack ######### for Bloodpoints and what....queue up for a high chance to do it again?
If I play 10 games...Id be hard pressed to get 5 or more games without such lame plays...and yes...it is lame to face camp and tunnel one person to death...it doesn't matter if 2-3 other Survivors get out because of it...being unable to do much and be penalized out of our control,,in addition to thr DCing (which I do not support, I'll tough it out for some points & try to waste the Killer's time too ) it just puts a bigger hole into a boat that risks sinking...slowly...but surely

Actually no. The best strategy to depip survivors is as follows.
- Pick Freddy.
- Make sure you have no totems.
- Go AFK.
It is now IMPOSSIBLE for survivors to safety pip against you at purple/red ranks, unless someone is greedy. Let's look at the numbers...
Survivors start with bronze Benevolence. Since you never hit or hook anyone, this emblem just stays the same. 1 pip point.
Survivors can only get Evader emblem points if they are asleep. They could literally stand inside your hitbox awake and get NOTHING for this emblem. 0 pip points.
Unbroken is an automatic iridescent because they never go down. 4 pip points.
That leaves Lightbringer. Now in order to get silver you need to do 1 gen solo (100 emblem points). Very likely every survivor will do this. So minimum 2 pip points now. That puts us at 7 pip points. To safety pip, purple ranks need 8 pip points (gold Lightbringer) while red rank need 9 pip points (iridescent Lightbringer).
HOWEVER, if everyone shares Lightbringer, then it is IMPOSSIBLE for anyone to get a gold emblem. There is a total of 500 emblem points to be earned from doing gens, 25 emblem points for gens being completed, and 30 emblem points for the Exit Gates. That is a total of 555 emblem points. Divided by 4 survivors means if they all share perfectly then they each get 138.75 emblem points. But for gold you need 190 emblem points, and for iridescent you need 270 emblem points. Even if they let 1 person do BOTH gates, that's still not enough because it's only 180 emblem points. So it is mathematically impossible for you to even safety pip at purple/red ranks against an AFK Freddy if you share. YOU MUST BE GREEDY. And if survivors realize this at most only 2 can safety pip, because 555/3 is still only 185 emblem points. But considering that survivors are very eager to gen rush it is very likely each will do a gen solo before they even realize what's happening, and at this point they all just depipped themselves. Now only 1 person at purple rank can get enough point to safety pip while the other 3 depip (assuming those 3 just let the guy do the last gen AND both gates, very unlikely). Red ranks cannot safety pip at all if everyone already did 1 gen solo.
Best part is that since you are Freddy they can't bully you either. GG EZ survivors.

I know survivors have gone around lately making sure they kill themselves on the hook and/or DC so the killer can't possibly get Iri Devout. I guess this is the same concept.
Part of why I uninstalled. Despite how ######### the devs are, the community is just as bad, and is willing to take advantage of anything to make the other side have a bad time.

Camping is a good way to depip now. You’re almost guaranteed a depip. But you get some points too. And a 4k so you feel some accomplishment.

I've actually seen a boosted red rank Nurse wayback that would float around and chase at normal movement speed on loops. It was the funniest thing and she actually had the entire team not working on gens we were all watching her float chase.

Yeah the ones that can pull it off are the best and I've faced a few, there's also 1 Billy that can do it even while carrying someone. But he does it while farming during events and it's funny.

You have to look at the root cause of camping, toxic survivors specifically swf flashlight clickers. It's more entertaining to take one down then watch them suffer over getting looped, tbagged, blinded at pallets, bodyblocked, sabo, swarmed at hook then insulted post game for doing your job.

Exactly and myself and many others also warned all the people on both sides complaining about how easy it was for survivors to level this was going to happen. If anything this should've waited for rank reset and after secondary objectives came out.

When I camp it is because I play against over altruistic survivors that waste time hidding (poorly) around the hook. Now that I know the camped survivor will depip because of it, I will make fun of them if they stay for the post game chat :-) Thanks for the information.

You can spook them off the gens but if you kick it they can get more Lightbringer points. I just put on Whispers and Unrelenting and swung at survivors and made them run around and stuff to be silly. Mind you I've only done this ONCE just to see if it would work like I thought and it does. I doubt the survivors cared because it was after rank reset anyway and they got free escape with free BP. But this was on the OLD system and none of them pipped (I think some got a safety but again green ranks that can happen).
