π£ Go Next is Killswitched

Hopefully it stays off for the duration of the anniversary event. It would be bad for new players to get hit with false positives and then be stuck with extremely difficult to remove penalties during the biggest bloodpoint event of the year.

I've already read about 4 different players coming for the FNAF chapter and uninstalling after the game locked them out of queuing because they got tunneled since the first minute of the match.
All the junk this game has is getting exposed by the FNAF chapter and the anti Go Next mechanic. It's beautiful.

Geeβ¦it's almost like they should've listened to people's complaints before pushing it to live and getting a mark on their reputation during the biggest license drop.

Good move, it is not a great experience for the new players coming into the game with FNAF and wonder ######### they were doing wrong lol.
I am so looking forward to the anniversary (on a break until then) but was dreading this from what I have seen streamers going through. Its a tad⦠aggressive lol

Good.
Better AFK Crows too.

Actually positively surprised, guess they do realize that having an automated system not only cause false positives but even do so when something that might've been frustrating already (getting tunneled) was then followed up with getting punished for it.
It's way way better to err on the side of caution. Will it mean people that "should" be hit by the system might get away with it here and there? Probably. Is that WAY better than false positives on innocent players? Without question.

Exactly. I would rather see some people being able to quit for free, even if they should have received penalties than seeing people getting penalties for not doing anything wrong.

They timed this pretty horribly honestly.
IDK why they decided to bring in a brand new banning/penalty system on TOP of the FNAF chapter when a ton of new players typically pick up the game (its heavily discounted as well right now).
How they even released it in this current state, is another question. They never bothered explaining how it works or what constitutes a penalty & that was a big big red flag.
11 -
Hopefully they also permanently kill switch AFK crows.
All of this could have been avoided with some very basic testing and actually listening to feedback from players before pushing it live into the biggest chapter release ever.
16 -
Well, better late than never I suppose.
6 -
They could've just enabled it in the PTB, but decided not to for whatever reason. It should've been tested first instead of being added straight away on the release day.
9 -
I'm convinced that when it comes back, they will somehow make it even more worse and broken... π«
I'm just hoping that it'll be properly tuned and fair, or will just be scrapped altogether.
7 -
I said yesterday that I'm really surprised they chose to roll all this out on this particular chapter release. Their biggest chapter release to date.
8 -
The issue is as well, is that a lot of new players joined DBD as soon the chapter got released, but most already dropped the game due to this crappy system.
7 -
Good riddance.
8 -
That doesn't surprise me. I'm trying to imagine buying a new game and then getting a warning after your first match because you apparently played so badly the game thinks you did it intentionally π’ lol
10 -
I don't understand why they thought adding this mechanic during one of the most anticipated chapter releases was a good idea. Unsurprisingly, it backfired, as anyone with at least one brain cell could see this was not a good decision.
11 -
Ikr? It'll just feel like a straight punch to the face lol

The system / feature wasn't removed; ONLY the penalty was disabled. And I think we can all agree that, sadly, this isn't going to fix anything...
4 -
Iβm normally dismissive of the claims but this situation with the go next features definitely shows they donβt play their own game
7 -
Once itβs fixed and the system is polished please turn it back on, thank you ππΌ

A guess on my part: their retention numbers of new players lately has been horrible / they've identified a couple of massive flaws in the games from their data on why people aren't sticking around.
With the influx of players coming in they knew they needed to address it. However, they seem to have been overconfident in their solution. BHVR frequently tries to 'Rube Goldberg' their fixes and avoid the straightforward solutions.
