What's happened to solo?

I play a good mix of solo queue and killer. Today I figured I'd have a game of solo.

4 out of 6 games ended up with 4 bots. 2-3 survivors just heading to the killer to go next. Now I get it, the latest killers have felt a little oppressive and survivors seem to have been forgotten about by BHVR, but what's caused this new "let's all get killed straight away" thing?

In two out of the four games, one survivor was tunneled from the start. Is it that? Is it the new lack of unhooking yourself? The game can't go on in this state. It's terrible for us who just wanna have fun in solo and really ######### for the killers.

I've had to go play something else, but I'd love to know what's happening?

Possibly they assumed you were camping the hook since you didn't bother to contest the gens in any way. This is literally what killers tell survivors to do to counter camping.

Exactly, soloQ became the real 1vs4. Except that you are not the killer, and one of that 4 has powers... 🤣

Camping, tunneling, or insert killer name here? Doesn't matter. The culture of leaving because you don't like something has taken root in this community. You can be the fair nice killer and still get survivors that give up after the first down.

If anyone had checked on her at all, they would've seen I was nowhere near. She never unhooked herself using the AFC mechanic, and she was still alive after they popped the last gen. They should've at least checked on her as she was nearing second state, to see if they could get her off before she went into it. Or check on her after the gens were done, there were three healthy survivors who could've worked to get her out. They didn't check on her. They didn't try.

Yup. And as I always say, teammates in solo queue are often more deadly than the killer.

Actually, it's your fault for not chasing survivors off gens to go save her. /s

A charitable reading is they thought the survivor was being camped as you weren't showing up to chase them. But a realistic reading is this is the state of solo q.

People being left to rot on hook is likely to become more common since the utterly overkill "Anti-AFK" system essentially forces Survivors to stick on gens or get crows.

Since you weren't contesting gens, they likely assumed that you were proxy-camping the hook (as camping just outside the range is still very easy and will still almost guarantee at least a trade) and, as such, sneaking to the hook and then waiting for an opportunity to unhook (if the Killer is camping, which they likely thought you were doing) would be too long and crows would give them away anyway.

This happened to me recently days ago. I was just working on a challenge for the chaos gamemode (so this was BEFORE the anti-afk was implemented). I hooked someone, then I went off to find the other survivors. The other 3 were just meming around, doing crouch pointing at me, or just trying to heal someone on the ground who I just downed where I could just…you know…easily just attack the person doing the healing. Absolutely no attempt at actually playing. I wasn't intending on eliminating survivors, so I just let them heal up, so the other guy gets up and they just crouch around in circles WHILE THE FIRST SURVIVOR WAS STILL ON HOOK. I had to teleport (Unknown) over to the hooked survivor and facecamp them so they could unhook themselves for free.
