Is anyone else taking a break until things get ironed out?
The new AFK-prevention is pretty god-awful, and honestly the go-next prevention feels really ambiguous and inconsistent. Not to mention the crows I got just for trying to stealth. Does anybody else share the sentiment that they'd rather not play until things get ironed out? I've never really felt, as killer or survivor, that the game has been THAT unfair/unfun in the past, but these recent changes just kindof suck.

I have been losing pips and getting matchmaking bans consistently since the update and I have done nothing wrong. The game thinks I am afk the whole match if I get any crows - doesn't matter that I escape with iridescent, gold and silver emblems. I'm sure the pip loss thing was only supposed to be for the 'go next' issue and they kill switched that, but I haven't even done that and I am still losing pips. No idea how this is so broken. Never had any problems before this update but I can't play until it gets fixed - if it ever does.

I'm taking a break until the next hotfix honestly, too many bugs as per usual. I can't help but feel they rush everything out, nothing ever feels polished.

Yes, after 3 1/2 years and nearly 4,000 hours of DBD, I'm seriously considering quitting because of the loss of map offerings. I lost 5 straight map offerings in a row as Killer and Survivor for RPD and Midwich. These took me weeks to obtain and they were all rejected due to the 20% garbage feature that BHVR added to ruin the game. I ended up getting sent to the awful corn maps and its just not fun playing without my beloved maps!

Played till i hit the 5 mill bp cap. Will try again when the anniversary cakes come in to spend it (without the bulk spending cuz thatl avoid them completely)

Eh, I just see it as new Chapter jank. Stuff like this happens everytime a new killer comes out. It's 9 year old code, and they're altering stuff that hasn't been touched in a while, so there's going to be some bumps and bruises for a bit. If you're taking a break, I'd say come back when the Masquerade starts.

Map offerings have always been a problem. The only legitimate use I've ever seen has been Scratched Mirror. Unfortunately too many people abused map offerings to give themselves the advantage.

I'll take a break until the anniversary event at least. And depending on what happens with the go-next prevention, I may end up quitting entirely. I can't see any conceivable way for this system to work without flagging innocent players who are trying their best despite having such a horrible match. The system isn't even needed beyond the removal of the "throwing on hook," so I'm seriously hoping it stays killswitched.

The point of map offerings is to allow players to play on maps they enjoy. There are no maps in the game that guarantee a win for Killers or Survivors and I played hours of RPD and Midwich with my best Killer main and Survivor main, yet still lost many matches. But I had much more fun playing the maps that I like rather than being randomly sent to maps I hate playing on, such as Autohaven and the dreaded corn maps. There was simply no reason to remove this great feature from the game other than to make the overall experience worse for players. Shame on BHVR for such an awful decision.

From survivor, yes. Still playing killer when queue times allow

im taking a break bc of the matchmaking i legit have to play dirty (tunneling/slugging) to get a 2k now this shits not fun anymore…

I'm close to getting all the ascended skins in the rift, after that I'm leaving until the anni, this patch has been a mess

I am but I also started to take breaks when any new DLC gets released, as I hate versing the same killer over and over so I wait until the novelty wears off and most people have their achievements done.
I am holding off playing until the anniversary event

I‘m taking a break until I either can play killer without waiting ages or until Springtrap is not insanely bugged when playing against him.

I'm not playing much Survivor until the anniversary because the AFK and go next prevention systems need to go back in the oven (or maybe just not come back at all) and every game is against a Springtrap. Bugs and power creep aside, he's not unenjoyable to go up against. I'm just tired of facing him already.
I'm still playing Killer though, despite the almost 2 V 8 waiting times.

I've been losing pips as well and I've just been thinking I ain't playing good enough ;-; good to know it's a bug lol

The go next prevention is pretty annoying when you can't get out of an unwinnable match.
I really don't see what all the fuss is about with the AFK system. I haven't encountered crows once, even in games where I had to stealth for a period. It seems like many players might be *much* less efficient than they realize. There's a common complaint that players in solo queue don't do gens. Not saying the system is perfect, but I think players who aren't efficient on gens are encountering these crows.

We didn't need any of this, I never had issue finding survivors in 2500 hours, I don't get it devs are not playing the same game. Add bad systems and create problems for no reason, just disabling self unhook was more than enough

Just to provide my own perspective on afk crows let me tell you a story. I recently was working on a gen with a teammate on hook a little bit away but directly in front of me. I get pushed off because killer comes to check my gen since it's closest to hook and I hide behind a wall for ~7-10 seconds while he is still patrolling the area with increasing interest since gen is pretty far along. I decide to be stealthy and crouch walk in an attempt to circle around behind cover and go for the unhook after about 10 seconds of him staying around my gen. Before I make it even halfway around to the hooked person I have afk crow. Remind you, this is my first experience getting crows, and now I am shaking my head in agreeance with the rest at how silly this system really is.
In less than 25 seconds I was flagged for checks notes hiding from killer patrolling the area around my progressed generator and simply walking.

I've been on a break since the Halloween event. I was going to come back for the anniversary since I haven't missed one yet but between the go next and AFK penalties I don't think I'll bother. I saw a killer comment in another thread they were hit with an AFK penalty when they played a relax match where they goofed off a little but got a 2k and let 2 escape. With the way I play killer, especially during the anniversary event where I focus more on getting BP from messing around and will let survivors go because everyone's bringing BP offerings, there's no way I don't get hit with that penalty as killer.

That's a silly reason tbh. If many people had their way, Map Offerings would be removed entirely as all it does is attempt to set the match in one sides favor. Maps should always be random.

The new systems are a nightmare, so I'm waiting until the Anniversary event as well. The Tome doesn't have anything I'm interested in, so there's no pressure to get through it.

I don't know how any maps in the game give an advantage to one side or the other. There are so-called "Killer-sided" and "Survivor-sided" maps but that doesn't mean you can't escape from a "Killer-sided" map or get a 4K on a "Survivor-sided" map. In fact, I love playing RPD and Midwich as both Survivor and Killer and thats what I spent my Bloodpoints on trying to obtain. All map offerings do is allow players to play in environments that they enjoy. Theres absolutely no reason to remove them from the game.

Tbh those maps are more fan-sided than anything. It was fun being able to navigate RPD flawlessly on day one. 😌

Of course it doesn't mean that, but the chances are significantly skewed towards one side. Thankfully the devs have somewhat listened to the outcry over the years of having to deal with them, and Map Offerings will never go back to being guaranteed.

thr audio bugs are hurting my head. I can't tell where anything is.
but I also refuse to not engage with the killers counterplay mechanics.
if bhvr doesn't think console players are worth spending an update for the most popular chapter of the game, then I'll go where I'm a bit more valued in the mean time.

You will be waiting a long time.
