New Chaos Shuffle Changes
It has been confirmed that The next iteration of Chaos Shuffle will have base kit Tenacity and Unbreakable.
“In Chaos Shuffle, Survivors can now recover while crawling and fully recover from the dying state on their own!”
How do you feel about these changes?

That is interesting, do you know if it will work like unbreakable does currently where you can only use it once or will it have infinite uses? Not sure how balanced this is but I do know that chaos shuffle has been unfun because of strategies like slugging.

From how it reads, it will not work like Unbreakable. It does not increase the Speed and it does not seem to be limited to one use. In general, saying "Basekit-Unbreakable" is always a lazy way of saying it IMO.

I hate playing killer without Lightborn, so I don't play Chaos Shuffle as killer. If I did, this change would make my problem worse, since the regular counter to avoiding flashlight saves is to slug and go after the flashlight holder.
As survivor, I miss my Lute when I don't have it. Plus, I just have not enjoyed Chaos Shuffle. In general, playing survivor, I don't expect to escape, so I look for other goals. My goal in Chaos Shuffle is to try getting use out of my perks. The killer's goal is to kill me fast because they have no gen defense. The killer usually completes that goal without me ever touching on my own goal.
It doesn't help that, while playing a few matches of Chaos Shuffle to get challenges done, I inevitably get saddled with No Mither at least once. Oh, and one time I watched my friend play and he got Deadline and his teammates refused to heal him, they insisted on working on the gens with him, but he couldn't hit the skill checks. And he'd beg for heals and they'd refuse. So, whenever I think of Chaos Shuffle, I think of that match, and how much we can't count on our teammates plus we don't have perks we can count on, either.
How do you feel about these changes?
As killer, these changes would make my experience worse. As survivor, it's whatever. My problems with Chaos Shuffle weren't slugging.

Welp time to ignore it once more it already was near unwinnable for m1 killers and this wil just remove any pressure i can get....

Better not be the "Anti Slugging - Further Improvements", they're thinking about implementing into the main game.
0 -
Dont worry, struggling Killers will still be able to tunnel freely. :)
I mean - what else should they do which would be actual improvements? Killers dont need to slug as much as they are doing right now. And if they do something which slows down the Recovery-Timer when another Survivor is nearby (so that the Killer is not in a lose/lose-situation where they cannot slug due to the potential of the recovery and cannot pick up due to the fear of a pallet save), this should be totally fine.
I mean, we can also do completely meaningful things like the AFC, but I think this would probably be preferred by many here - a system which might not even exist and which improves nothing.

I do not know I'm just guessing it's gonna be like regular unbreakable one time use

Yet they done nothing fis the real bigger issue like tunneling they could added basekit Otr and Ds
1 -
That might be a bit much. But this forum mainly wants to have measurements which are inefficient. If diehard Killer Mains dont complain about something, you know that it is too weak. E.g. the AFC is a feature which fixes something which never really needed fixing (actual facecamping was almost nonexistent), but since Killers can still proxycamp very efficient, they dont complain.
So a change to slugging or tunneling will only be accepted on this forum if it barely does anything.

I'm looking forward to it. I already like Chaos Shuffle as survivor because killers can't lean on their perks, and it would be nice to kinda sorta maybe combat being slugged one minute into the game. I really wish there was a perk free mode, but I'll keep dreaming.

My problem with Chaos Shuffle was never the slugging, it was the free tunneling, because the odds of DS/OTR are so small. Feels like they focused on the wrong thing here.

Big agree I'd trade these changes for Otr and Ds basekit
1 -
Not that I'm complaining, but I'm genuinely curious why they apparently prioritize slugging when the real issue with chaos shuffle is the rampant tunnelling.
1 -
Wait really? Where did they say this?
1 -
I haven't really played any of the last few modifier events, they all felt really "try hard" on both sides. I'd have thought they'd have been more relaxed than the regular game tbh.

So if survivors have free second chanse perks I hope they add noed and corrupt for killer
Although I would prefer it to be a mode where luck and skill compete, and not just getting all the same meta perks as in the regular game0 -
Any change that might push the mode in a more casual direction is a good one to me. Maybe it will be impossible to fully pick yourself up within a certain range of another Survivor, to avoid the feature from being abused by SWF groups and to allow for tactical slugging to remain viable. We'll have to see how it works.
I doubt it will see much actual use in practice, though. It's more powerful as a way to communicate to the playerbase that Chaos Shuffle is meant to be a chill casual mode. It's not for slugging the entire team, gen rushing, bringing the best items / add-ons or going on win streaks. It's just meant to be a bit of silly fun and is not to be taken too seriously.

BHVR does this to field test ideas.

Im just curious how this'll work with flashlight squads and such. Slugging is THE counter to sabo/pallet/flashlight saves. Im curious how rampant that'll be here. I kinda wonder if the devs are doing this as a test of sorts.
3 -
They probably didnt think that far
1 -
It's 100% a test. It already has support from the content creators who have a direct line to the devs. I've recently heard several of them talk about their support for basekit unbreakable under certain conditions. This is definitely something that they are considering for the main game. At this point they're probably just trying to figure out exactly how strong to make it. I'm assuming they will take the data from chaos shuffle and use that to tweak the numbers before it goes live.

6 perks for survivor then? Interesting. However I can usually pick myself up anyway, as invariably I play Chaos Shuffle matches with No Mither.
1 -
Chaos shuffle used ti be my favorite mode...this might change that...I get lots of flashlight squads in the shuffle since no lightborn guarantee so if I gotta face squads with flashlight and unbreakable I might just play regular mode during the shuffle instead. Not really interested in this new version

Has this been confirmed officially?
Cause the only source I've found is Ruthless Leaks:

Thanks for the heads up.
If that's true I guess I'm done with that mode. (It used to be my favorite one.)

Meh. It's chaos shuffle. It's a alternate non sweaty game mode. I don't care what they do to it. Winning and losing doesn't matter much when you are completely submitted to rng for both sides. As long as it doesn't come to main mode without extensive testing then I'm fine with it.

That makes me wonder what will happen if you get Tenacity or Unbreakable in your actual builds...or will they remove those perks from the pool?
0 -
I'm geussing removed from pool
0 -
Will it make it more casual? All I'm seeing is slugging is off the table and now all bets are on hard tunneling
0 -
Ah yes lets just take all the chaos out of chaos shuffle by making perks basekit
1 -
I never said it would work on everyone. There will always be players that have no chill. Some people would try hard if they were playing tiddlywinks.
Who knows, maybe they've got future plans to address tunnelling as well, and if that affects Kill rates negatively, they'll add more regression to gen kicks and maybe basekit Corrupt. I'm just speculating of course, I don't know what their plans are. But I think Chaos Shuffle could become the basis for a permanent casual mode, if BHVR decided to develop it in that direction. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think most casual Survivors prefer Chaos Shuffle and 2 V 8 over the regular game because they even the playing field a little. These modes generally feel pretty low stakes for both sides anyway (or at least to me they do).
In any case, at least some Oni attempting to slug the entire Survivor team because they're unlikely to have an Unbreakable won't be able to do it so easily now.

In chaos shuffle it will be hard you can play m1 or weaker killer with bad random perks and you get punished when you down someone and go for someone else for preasure on 2 gens, survivors will be able to create hard 50/50 scenarios like going under palett now you have to risk will you leave him there and give him free escape or pick him up and risk stun, strong basekit that doesnt make sence it wont be that different against a or s-tier killers but weaker ones wont stand chance against genrush and this antislug combo classy bhvr change.

I usually hate being pessimistic, but if basekit Unbreakable makes it into the base game, then it'll just be unbearable with certain setups. Here's a video showcasing why basekit Unbreakable is a bad idea.
This was during the PTB when they tried it the first time. It didn't fix anything and people still bled out.
This isn't the way to fix slugging, at all, this is downright poison for the game.
In Chaos Shuffle, fine, it's time-limited and it'll make Killer queues a bit shorter. But it CANNOT be in base game.
