What's going on with the new disconnect penalty System ?
So I heard that they changed how this system worked at some point and I don't understand it at all. My internet was a bit bad for a day so I collected some pentaly. The last ban I had was 30 Minutes long. Then I came home and got a better connection and could play some rounds without Internet issues. I played at least 10 rounds without a problem in between the last two days but now I disconnected again and instantly got a 1 Hour ban. Why is the penalty time not reducing even tho I played rounds without any problems?

EACH 20 MATCHES??? For just one reduction??? They do know that there a lot of hackers that keep you hostage or make your game crash right???

Not exactly. You play 1 singular match out of 20, the last match of that 20 falls off. So forth and so on. When those matches that fall off where you dced for whatever given reason at the time. Your penalty will be less and less.
If your internet boots you frequently you should look into that before playing an online game though.Post edited by MechWarrior3 on1 -
What i dont understand from a dev pov is why would you choose to make longer and longer penalties, why no put a cap of 15 min, something more human, something that doesnt make the player wanting to stop playing the game, you know having more players means more people willing to spend money at some point, as the OP mentioned not everyone has a decent internet, not even not every country has it, why would you punish people so bad? Even if they ragequit, why would you punish someone with hours of dcpenalty? I dont understand a lot of ideas and changes devs are implementing, in the willingness of "fixing" stuff they are breaking it even more.

While I agree that a good internet connection should be expected, in my opinion the devs have demonstrated that this does not matter to them. Why can a killer load up with 250+ ms ping? The "red ping" bar shows up at 200+ ms. Anyone who has played any online video game will tell you that ping 200+ ms is practically unplayable, yet the game is more than willing to start a match where only the killer has red ping. Shouldn't this be considered "bad internet" just as much as having random disconnects due to things outside of your control?
I would much rather play with someone who has way lower ping but a higher chance to disconnect versus someone who has a lower chance to disconnect but astronomically higher ping.

You only see the penalty time the match after the disconnect. You are not waiting the penalty time for 20 matches.
Put simply, the old penalty tracking aged out over time. The new penalty tracking ages out over 20 matches. The tracking is only there to determine how much time you have to wait the very next match after a disconnect.

They seemingly do not care, you're only there for the killers enjoyment.

I would rather be paired with a killer with equal or lower ping for sure.
However a killer with bad ping isn’t getting booted from the game hence why they are still in the match. The survivor gets booted because there internet is beyond unstable. To be fair this goes both ways. I go against survivors frequently who have awful pings, I’ll hit the survivor and just as I think they are going down or I got a hit, nope. Sure didn’t. Now they’re somehow already at the next tile.
If your internet sucks, and you have bad ping, that’s on you. BHVR lets you play. If you’re constantly getting booted to crap internet, you should be punished for it. You’re ruining the match for 4 other players.
