So, after the Ash's drop...
Will we get a killer with similar perks to Ash? You know, second chances, cancerous as hell, not healthy for the game? Or only survivors can receive such perks? Because, you know, you have made DS a little better, so you give them another crutch.
DS, MoM, BT/DH and SC will be such a fun build, can't wait to become a survivor main.

I have to wonder what the reaction would be like if it was the other way around and the Killer got an Insta Down after 3 basic attacks... Who's bright idea was it to create this perk? 🤔

Oh do you mean like the powers and addons that give killers instadowns the entire game? Also I believe devour hope gives you an insta down ability after 5 stacks? Or noed that’s free instadowns unless they get the totems? Or haunted ground thats 60 seconds of insta ability, or rancor where you can mori the last obsession at the end even if you haven’t seen, or hooked the person the entire game.

No what I mean is a Perk that has 0 counters, A Prerequisite that occurs naturally during the game and an incredible pay off.
Devour Hope, NOED and Haunted grounds are all Totem perks and are only strong because of how easily countered they can be.
Rancor gives your location away to the survivor and let's them know you have rancor from the first generator popping, Evidently It's easily avoidable by simply leaving.
Michael, Hillbilly and Cannibal's insta downs are all parts of their powers and have drawbacks. Hillbilly not so much as the others I'll give you that.
The only thing I can agree with is add ons, Iri Heads are something I wish would be taken from the game. But even then those are a one time use unlike this perk where you can use it every trial.

Almost every trial I’m in the killer has some sort of instadown ability,addons ,perk, mori(which is infinitely worse than any insta down ability)
The drawback to mom is your aura is shown, and you become the obsession(sure sure you can work around that but it is still risky to not heal). Which means if the killer has rancor you can be moried(assuming you live that long). Not to mention it’s a one time use. You have a problem with a one time sponge that gives an aura away?dead hard, lithe , sb have been creating distance so a killer can’t get that hit and are exhaustion perks. But you have a problem with a one time sponge that doesn’t even give distance?this perk isn’t that op. It’s nothing like ds was. It doesn’t waste the killers time like ds did with juggling, then if they hit it taking the stun, then having to regain distance. It’s nothing like ds was. It’s really not op at all.

@RSB If Mettle of Man has you worried I feel bad for you man. Could it be annoying? Probably, but it's just 1 use that they can't control when it goes off and doesn't it just negate a hit? Big whoop, you hit them again. Sure it wastes a little time, but compared to the old DS this perks is a lot weaker unless there's some stun mechanic I am forgetting about.

it’s a decent perk at best. It’s going to mess more players up, than be powerful. Only super strong loopers are going to get good use out of it then they have to walk around injured or go into perma aura for the rest of the match. Personally not a fan.

Adrenaline + MoM will be super fun to play against.
Hit them, chase them down, hit them again, MoM activates, chase them down again, Adrenline activates, hit them again, chase them down again, watch them run out of the exit gate.

That takes a perfect set of circumstances to work.
I can't see that being an issue especially since it doesn't gain tokens when using powers or m2 hits so you can blink hit them with Nurse or use hatchets as Huntress and no Mom.

To the people saying "yOuR aUrA iS sHoWn", who TF cares. Why do you think people run Object and teabag? Being revealed, if you're good, doesn't mean #########.
The one thing that MIGHT make MoM balanced is that, according to someone who experimented with the leaked PS4 perks, it only applies to M1 hits, so Billy, LF, Huntress, and sometimes Plague can bypass it. As for every other killer? Get #########.

Yeah I tested it out as killer against friends it’s not op. I’m on ps4. If you think knowing where a survivor is at all times isn’t a good trade off, or then being injured the rest of the match to avoid aura also isn’t a good trade off you’re wild. That’s a heap of information, and a pretty significant advantage against them if they don’t heal. Like I said not op

It’s shown after they heal. So you know the bt aura that’s what happens so you know they sponged the hit. Then once they heal they get the perma aura.

For how long? If it's permanent, then that's a bit understandable, but still avoided by just not healing.

That's the wrong perk, but Flip-Flop also hard-counters slugging, which killers actually need to do to slow the game down in any way. That's the other perk I have a problem with, the third one I just remember reading its effect and thinking it was trash.
EDIT: just saw it was an album of pics, I'm on mobile lol. Yeah, for MoM, just don't heal, who cares. Though it does make it not as useful when you use Adrenaline

It's just a varient of borrowed time that can only be used once and doesnt give you a timer. All it will do is help with tunneling

Once they heal it’s permanent for the rest of the match. If they don’t heal they stay injured the rest of the match. Either way that’s a pretty significant draw back if you ask me. I just don’t like what it can do to some killer obsession perks since the obsessions can change. It does need some tweaking in those regards either with the perk itself or those killer perks Bc of the new obsession game mechanics. Which I stated before in another thread should be addressed and released at the same time of the perk. Like save the best for last as an example

@peasant there’s no stun mechanic with mom. They don’t even get a speed boost from the sponged hit. It’s like “whiffing” on them basically. Then they get the bt aura so you know their perk(mom) just activated and was used.

Being a solo survivor vulnerable to unhook farming, I'm looking forward to trying out Mettle of Man with Defensive Strike.
- Hit, downed, hooked, as normal. (2/3 hits)
- Farmed off the hook in front of killer, downed, and picked up; Defensive Strike. (3/3 hits)
- Killer continues to tunnel me; their hit does not down me.
Hmm, I have choices with the other 2 slots:
- Iron Will + Resilience (stay injured to avoid my aura being shown while getting an action speed boost)
- Boil Over + Flip-Flop (improve chances at wiggling free; especially if slugged after being farmed from hook (assuming the killer hooks another survivor on the hook next to me before trying to hook me))
- Self Care + Sole Survivor (wait until other survivors have died before healing myself to better hide my aura)
- Dead Hard + Adrenaline (more second chances to buy time for that last gen to pop for yet another second chance)

When my friends and I tested it it was just sponged with no burst they ran as usual. It acted like a whiff. If they are still on there I’ll test it again tomorrow

Yep because you dont get a burst of speed when you normally get hit right? And yeah, TOTALLY free. Get hit 3 times, then once you heal you're revealed. Its COMPLETELY free with ABSOLUTLEY no downside....

a) It's not even out yet, no one has played against it in its full potential.
b) It's about damn time survivors get some normal perks. DLC teachables have been complete garbage for survivors, some even for killers, but there are some good ones for killers.

The perk isn’t even OP. It is countered by hatchets, corrupt/vile purge, trapper, bloody coil, insta down, etc.
I’ve used it in kyf and payed against it. It didn’t even get used up against me because I was a billy.
As for the aura reveal, people will 99% the heal and finish when you find them or they’ll do the no heal strat anyway.
