Fog Vial
So, reading the patch, while the buffs to Knight, Pig, Clown and Pyramid Head are distinctly not needed, I will say this item actually sounds useful.
Now, if you're playing the PTB, please let me know if my inference is wrong, but it sounds like an item that, while it won't outright fix tunneling, should at least make it harder.
Of course, it's very likely to get heavily nerfed, outright removed, or be negated by a future Killer Perk, but for now, it actually sounds like something that could reduce the headache of tunneling.

You should see the feedback forums, items not even been in the PTB for a day and killer only players are crying blood over it. Wild.

I figured that would happen. Unfortunately, while I doubt actual high MMR Killer Mains care that much, the Killer Mains who do employ the three toxic strategies hate when the Survivors get anything that can help counter them. Unfortunately, this usually results in said item getting heavily nerfed or the next Killer receiving a perk that negates it. Hopefully, BHVR doesn't cave to the toxic players again.

There needs to be more useful tools on survivor side, things to freshen up the gameplay. I welcome new tools added in chase as it makes chase more exciting for both sides.

I 100% agree. The gameplay loop for Survivors has been far too stale since the game started. New tools or systems to either give Survivors more to do, or to make chases more diverse would go a long way in making the role more fun for everyone in the match.

And they're being quickly assured their feedback is heard and passed on lol the vials will be changed, barely used, and the same folks will be back to complaining about toolboxes and medkits the next day

Funny thing is, none of the gen rushing, beefy med-kit / syringe enjoying super squads they supposedly go up against every game will be bringing this silly little item into trials.
They'll be sticking with their usual med-kits and tool boxes like always because they're still the better items to take. There's no way anyone would take a fog vial over anything else if they're playing this game super seriously. I already know this item is going to get me killed (and probably a few of my teammates, too) at least as often as it'll save me. But I'm still going to bring one, because they look like fun.
I do think misgivings about the fog vials being potentially irritating to go up against are fair. But I want to see what the wider population of players on the live servers think before BHVR heavily nerfs them.

>while the buffs to Pig
>are distinctly not needed
I'm curious. What, if any killers, do you think need a buff right now?
5 -
Honestly? Hag. She's not really weak, but she does need some milk. Pig, on the other hand, is not even remotely weak. Being bad with a Killer doesn't mean that Killer is weak. She's pretty strong, especially if you know what you're doing.

This is a serious comment? You think pig is in a great state at the moment?
You realize the majority of the changes are just trade offs from what addons used to give right? So they arent even noticable by any metric.
And you still do the same thing versus her if she crouches on a tile.
Run away and laugh.
Hag needs buffs? Not over pig by several miles she doesnt.3 -
In my experience - and I'm aware everyone's experience is different - Pig doesn't need any buffs right now. Now, I will admit I never use add-ons (I don't need them), but even without them, you can easily get decent use out of her. Now, in higher MMR range, you need to try a lot harder with her, but that should never be a measure of when a Killer needs buffs. It's when the Killer is struggling even in lower MMRs that a Killer needs buffs, and Pig does not struggle outside of pro-circles.
Her kit is built on stealth (which is pretty easy cause, from my experience, most Survivors don't pay that much attention, even at high MMR). Her reverse bear traps, and the mechanic to remove them, rely on the Survivor having good RNG - so you're either going to see Survivors go the whole match with it on, or have it on for only a minute, depending on how lucky the Survivor is (which I am not, usually).
Now, sure, maybe some of her add-ons could use some buffs, but her base kit is fine. If you're playing how she is intended to be played - stealthy and using her dash attack smartly - then Pig is pretty strong.
And yes, Hag needs a buff more than Pig, cause Hag is one of the few Killers who struggle even in low MMR. Now, I may lean towards Survivor when I play (though I prefer playing Killer, but you can't play Killer with friends, so I play Survivor more often), and while I think the Survivor experience sucks, one thing I can agree on is that Killers should be powerful to balance out the game. It's one of the issues BHVR has - they've yet to find the sweet spot for both sides. Hag falls into that small category of Killers who aren't really that good unless you go for specific builds, which often require you to pay money for licensed Killers.

Yeah man it's time to stop having opinions online

I'm sorry but no. Pig isn't a strong killer. She badly needs help with her chase potential. I'm not saying she's super weak but she's definitely not strong.

facts. The pig buffs were needed.

I dont know why you are talking about MMR I didnt ask you anything about that.
I also did not ask you if you used addons or not or if you need them.
Her current "buffs" are dressed up as buffs as a portion of them were removed from her addons and given to her basekit.
Ie her addons lost strength and her basekit gained small buffs.
And workshop grease just straight up lost one of its conditions that barely had anything, but at least it was a benefit. So grease was even NERFED of all things.
Only revolving around ambush and crouching too.
Her slowdown. Pig is in need of help to get to that point of the game. Her ambush is simply not good enough to play around tiles, you just run away the moment you see her crouch. So you are a powerless m1 killer with a stealth gimmick that has nothing extra too it.
Every other stealth killer has something extra to their stealth whether its expose, fast vaulting, fast pallet break, loop denial through speed (Ghostface/Meyers/Wraith) something.
Pig doesnt have that. And whats worse with her, is you lose line of sight, have to crouch, make an obnoxiously loud tell if you do ambush, culminating in it not hitting anyone as they just held W away from the tile while you crouched there.
All her same issues shes had for YEARS with her ambush power, are STILL the same today. That includes the recent PTB.
Your thing about surprising survivors with stealth can only go so far in your match, and its not enough in pigs case. You quickly lose that strategy the moment the survivors recognize what killer it is.1 -
I'm really happy she is getting help, I love the mindgames she can do at loops and it being easier to do means we'll see her more.
2 -
I doubt they'll be very effective tbh but every little bit helps.

I do like the fact survivors get a new tool into their arsenal. Some may love it, and others may choose what works for them already, but variety is important Glad they included it.
The star for me was Pyramid Head's add-on revamp. It's now more varied and interesting - good job.

They are just buffing Pig so they can nerf her later. Sometimes you need to inspire hope before you can crush it.
