The gaslighting people are doing around the grimore and the possibility of a werewolf is crazy
Let me start by saying if you don't want a werewolf killer then I 100% respect your opinion, you're totally entitled to your tastes.
What I can't respect however is the bizarre mental gymnastics and gaslighting I see people doing on various social media platforms to try and get people to vote against the werewolf option. This is coming in two main forms that I'm seeing.
- " You don't actually know it will be a werewolf, it's just an example"
Is this why one of the examples for chimeric was werewolf and one of the options for chimeric is beastly? Like come on don't tell us something isn't a duck when the description I'm reading is "a bird that goes quack" that's just insulting people's intelligence. - "Well a werewolf is so obvious that BHVR will do it eventually anyway"
DBD just celebrated it's 9th anniversary and we're going into yet another year where a werewolf is obviously not coming. Why should we wait who knows how long for it if we ever get it when the option for it is staring at us right in the face?
Again plenty of people don't want a werewolf and that's fine but there seems to be so many people scared of that being a popular option and that being what we're getting (which tbh I've accepted it's not happening from the grimore considering chimeric didn't get 1st place to begin with) and it's so gross seeing people trying to be manipulative about trying to stop that.

well, i want a spider. Thats why i vote ( just in my opinion ) for Cosmic. Unfortunately, my first survivor choice didn't work out, but I'm also happy with the dark side. I'm curious to see what happens next. Definitely exciting 🙂

And you're totally entitled to that and should vote for the things most likely to make that happen.
I just wish we could let people vote for the things they want without other people trying to sabotage the other options is the main point I'm trying to make.

now they're all saying to vote divine because biblically accurate angel, omg

I voted for a Divine killer.

I chose the option because we have a massive amount of humanoid killers already and I want more creepy monsters.
Werewolf or otherwise.5 -
I think that the "Otherworldly" voters are very split between what they want, while the "Chimeric" voters pretty much all want a werewolf. I'd be pretty stunned if Beastly didn't win this time or didn't at least place second. Cosmic or Divine will be the other top choice.

You may be right but I feel like divine has a lot of motion rn.
I'd be pleasantly surprised and through the roof happy if beastly won but my guess it comes in second to divine with cosmic in third.
If I'm right hopefully at least BHVR sees how much people want a werewolf killer and we maybe get one in like year 12 lmao.

a divine killer would be cool. I want that one to be a popular vote for sure because I want to see how that branches out.

People express their opinions. It must be gaslighting 🙄

I mean, there is anatideaphobia - they very well could add a duck stealth killer that stalks.

I’ll be so disappointed if they chose duck over goose as a concept. Because while “don’t duck with me” is funny, imagine a “that’s not a silly goose”

The Ultimate collab with the Untitled Goose.
It kills survivors purely by mildly inconviniencing them over and over.
HONK

Neither of the examples you used are “gaslighting”.

If we wanna pretend telling people what they're reading isn't what they're reading or that telling people "nah you'll get what you want later just vote for this other thing instead for now" isn't psychological manipulation then sure.

I would guess after Beastly they would still narrow it down a bit more, and then a werewolf would absolutely be one of the options. I don't think they will have these character's whole thematic concept wrapped with two votes.
I wish you werewolf guys luck, I'm all aboard the cosmic horror train personally.

Agreed, and I am getting a bit flustered by this word being thrown around so liberally. "Gaslighting" is emotional abuse, especially in relationships. Making an observation that it "may not be a werewolf" is nothing like gaslighting, whilst the secondary comment is just an assumption by that person. There is no altering of reality, perception or history in any of those comments.
I remember the Skull Merchant chapter and how many thought it was going to be a robotic killer. I saw the trailer and noted it looked like a drvice was being made, as others did. However, once she was announced it was about how BHVR misled them. They didn't - it was assumptions proved wrong. Does that mean those many were "gaslighting"? No.
Gaslighting is a form of abuse, not an assumption or opinion. There's enough information online to prove the difference.

never heard of it or about it. Sounds like something that probably doesnt need more attention given to it if its so bad.

I’m just glad besides visiting here now and then I never look at DBD socials.

Yes, I completely agree with you

Maybe we'll get a werewolf down the line with them seeing interest

I think they should just merge the two. A devil's beast. A werewolf with a flaming sword or something.
