Twisted Masquerade Extension. Your thoughts?
Hey,
Just wondering how people feel about the extension of the Twisted Masquerade event, taking over Chaos Shuffle which was supposed to occur.
Personally, it ticks me off a bit. I have already earned all the cosmetics and whatnot from the event, except for the three banners and charm, which is hardly worth anything. I don't need more time in the event.
BHVR, stop messing with your calendar and making arbitrary changes like this; it's super annoying.

pretty boring and not enough cakes.
im also half suspicious they nerfed quiet mode cuz im very certain last time it hid your scratchmarks. i dont get why bhvr feel the need to nerf yet another thing dealing with which as a killer was a pure skill issue.
remote hooks are pretty fun and really help keeping the pace of the match, really looking forward to seeing them in base game as a perk or mechanic one day, remote pallet break is cheap and boring. window block is whatever, but it can be annoying sometimes.
also no good skins, vecna is kinda mid, rewards are also not exciting at all. the only surv i play that got new skin is taurie and the mask is just meh.

It was extended because XBOX network issues. Some players didn't even get a chance at the event.

It's fine if it means more BP. Personally, I'm a little fatigued with extra modes one after another. They don't feel like something to look forward to. Even if it's just for a couple of weeks, it would be nice for a palette cleanser.
Chaos Shuffle is my favourite, so it was sad to see that sidelined. However, I've had more than my fair share of event time and I'm finding no shortage of players in the normal mode.

I am fine with it. Gives me more time get more pies. I have over 900 on just one character. I would like to get more on my 2 survivors. I enjoy the event so thats just me. I also appreciate that they are creating more challenges for us to do during the extension which means more BP. So its a win for me.

It’s good you have had enough time to get everything and don’t need more time but not everyone has (notably XBOX players). I’m traveling right now and while I have my laptop it can only handle a couple of games so I’ve been playing sparingly so not to rack up DC penalties. It was a nice surprise to see due to the extension I can play a couple of days at home and not worry about that.

I'm happy with it.
The BP gains this event have been amazing so far. I've managed to finish my grind for P100 Mikaela, now I'm leveling up Skull Merchant (a long way to 100 still, but the event is helping), and personally I am having fun regardless of which role I play.

You a Mikaela main? Did you used to have a Bill pfp? I always saw you as a Bill main.

I would prefer anything else chaos shuffle or 2v8, event just isn't very good the remote hook and pallet break are better than survivor powers, killer queues are way too long

I'm afraid not, my friend. I never had a Bill pfp, nor have I ever been a Bill main.
I main Mikaela as survivor and, as of this moment, Skull Merchant as killer. Although, for a very long time I was a Claudette / Freddy main.

Yes, I did talk about Freddy a lot. Unfortunately I really don't find him enjoyable to play in his current state (EDIT: still above most of the others though, I should clarify that).

I'm fine with the extension because I stopped caring about Chaos Shuffle when it became more about "how do I bring the strongest things to tilt it all in my favor?" sim. I'm waiting for 2v8 again.
I really want something new though…

I’d rather have extended Twisted Masquerade, than have a Chaos Shuffle where the game double punishes me when survivors force me to slug.
As in, I just wouldn’t have played killer at all during Chaos Shuffle, out of protest.

Gave him a chance, dearest friend, but it didn't last very long.
As long as the design previews don't hit live, I'll continue with Skull Merchant as my main.

Freddy will always be among my favorites in DBD simply because I love the character, plus he will certainly remain my favorite killer to go against. But I really don't want to main a character whose power I am not having fun with.

Out of curiosity how many hours a day are you all playing? As mentioned in this thread, I can't play much this year but even during previous years when I was able to play a more I never got anywhere near that amount!

I am happy to be getting more pies. That's been the main reason I've been using that mode besides the extra bp. I get why some people wouldn't care as much about the pies. I imagine some people have leveled up all the characters they want to and bp doesn't hold the magic that it use to. I'm not at that point yet, though LOL.

Well, my friend, I am currently on vacation, so I do have time to grind a little bit more. But the reason why I already have a lot of cakes is because the bloodpoints I get as survivor also go to Skull Merchant.
I rarely ever use items and my Mikaela is already P100, meaning there is very little reason to keep leveling her up, at least until the new items releases.

Oh wow. That’s about my usual playtime. Maybe I do get more cakes than I remember. I spread the BP I earn around and always use them when playing after the events. I guess that might be why it see seems to me like I don’t get many cakes.

Yeah if you are spreading them out then that makes sense! Good stuff though! Just think too your BP streamers are building up during this time too.

Well this event for cakes is once per year, chaos shuffle seems like once a month lol im fine with it being extended to get as many cakes as possible for the year since my p100s got extremely nerfed for cake collecting. (Some characters alredy have a lifetime supply of over 1000 lol)

More cakes is good but the event game mode is bad. Killer queues are no exaggeration double the duration of normal, and it's just frustrating as survivor, so no good reason to play other than the quests.

Thoughts? Pretty negative ones, I'd say. This event has been awful since the 2023 iteration, gameplay-wise, and instead of taking into account criticisms from last year they doubled down by buffing the telekinetic hook and copy-pasting everything else. Wouldn't be surprised if they did it on purpose just so that we don't miss it.

This is true, they're so long you're only ever going to get either the babiest babies or sweatiest SWFs for Survivors. It's not very fun when that happens. :(

Couldnt care less about chaosa and most events.
At least Twister gets me cakes on bloodweb. Not playing the gamemode tho.

I am happy about the cakes, I don't care much for the event mode, good thing is I don't have to queue up for it to farm cakes if the mood isn't hitting.
