Can someone explain the "healing meta" we're in right now?

I don’t believe for one second that you are that good at killer but somehow that bad at survivor. Why don’t you post your stats from the BHVR stats page? At least I could believe you then.
“Bad survivors shouldn't automatically lose all their games because the game "gives" killer an automatic advantage” — I interpret this as you want the game to be balanced around the lowest end of the skill curve. Ok, you’re entitled to that opinion, but let’s play out what would happen. Balancing the game so that the worst survivors can consistently escape means that it would be literally impossible for killers to ever have a chance of winning at higher levels. Nobody would want to play killer and you would either have hour-long survivor queues or killer bots. I remember when kill rate were lower having extremely long survivor queue times during peak evening hours, and it the average kill rate wasn’t even that much lower than it is today’s. If that’s the way you want the game to be, ok, but I think a vast majority of players would disagree with you.

Thanks for sharing! It’s very interesting that you have such a different survivor experience than I do. I don’t consider myself to be particularly good at all, I play solo queue almost exclusively, yet my all-time escape rate is 43.2%.
Your comment about the game rewarding bad killers I can agree with, especially about NOED. I can usually predict when a killer has NOED just based on how the match goes. It’s super frustrating when you’ve run a killer for most of the match and then he just gets a free kill (sometimes more) at the end because he equipped a single perk. Survivors have hatch, but killer can easily negate it by slugging 2nd to last survivor and finding/downing the last one so that hatch doesn’t spawn.0 -
Honestly no idea - played huntress for hours and people didn't really heal that fast, sometimes I had them injured almost constantly xD

Huntress huh a man of culture I see.
I mean in some my matches healing is quicker than it was before but honestly I'd much rather combat healing then the gen perks/toolboxes that are brought in most of games. As a fairly new survivor (3k hours on killer) I run a dedicated heal build and you would think they are quicker until you play them. Most (not counting syringes as they've always been able to do what they do) require 2-3 perks to fully benefit a few of which require you to be hooked before they can even activate. I mean the buff to botany no matter how some down play it is great and makes healing via all health kits viable. While no it's not coh good and you can't heal in 5 secs multiple times with the right build you can heal in 6. That being said I wouldn't call for it to be nerfed, I fear some killer don't realize that every survivor interaction you nerf outside of gens leads them to just do gens and actually gen rush you.
As for my killer experience when I play Freddy (or any m1) the heals seem so fast but I think that's because I don't have a quick injuring ability, however when I play huntress/Springtrap/nurse/nemmy the heals don't even matter for the most part because the pressure I can apply just makes healing beneficial for me because instead of unhooking and hoping on that 80% gen they'll prioritize healing first which gives me just the time I need.
Last to completely nullify the this meta there does exist a killer above all others that no one seems to be aware of and her name is plague. If you're getting cooked by this just main thana plague there is no healing plain and simple.
@KatsuhxP Not all that was meant for you just the "man of culture part" lol

Ahh I see, yes I try to play her more again. I played her a lot for a while and she's my most played killer, but I got really bad with her for the most part sadly. That being said I probably have a 80% killrate or something today, but in the event where a lot of people with 400 hours against my 3k xD
I play her with bbq, floods of rage, iron maiden and leathal so she's probably my best showcase of skill (and tunneling and camping because I usually don't care from what I get the preassure lol) that I have xD

Lmao yeah she's my main. I don't use perks or aura on her so my KR is around 60% overall, she by far my most experienced killer next to nurse. I have really amazing days and really really bad days where I hit more rocks and trees than survivor. As far as the lower level survivors I am not graced by them often. After around 2k hours I usually let people go depending ony own honor system DC's, looped really well, just felt like it etc lol. As for the matches I want to win pressure is who ever is in front of my face at the time no matter if you've hooked recently, healed or not I don't care I'm chasing whoever I can see.

The stats have its ups and downs
Currently today I managed to get 8 escapes in a row somehow. Its lucky based on teammates and a bit of skill but my overall doesnt even have my correct hours either so im not sure how accurate overall will mean.
Like these dont match at all
#Syringegaming
Best I can do, really up to what you get for teammates.
Last night though jesus… I stepped away after it was just Kaneki camp after blight camp back to back it just wears on you.
Keep in mind escape rate =/= win rate
And people do all sorts of stuff to inflate their escape rate, like bringing a key, crouching in the corner, interacting never with the killer and being stealth… etc…0 -
Yep pretty much this, if I see the unhook I'll probably tunnel because it's the better target, does the tunnel out run into me I'll kill it if it doesn't bring me to ruin, if I can get smeone out by camping I do (not that that happens often after all the nerfs lol). I take pretty much everything I can but don't force it.
I just use auraperks because I'm a crossmap huntress, I'm relatively bad in chase but good (at least for what it's worth from someone with 3k overall and 160 hours of huntress) at crossmaps xD

I have the same experience with both roles. Playing killer feels boring cause it's so easy to 3-4k most of my matches, whereas playing survivor is a frustrating uphill battle most of the time but I play survivor more cause I'd rather a hardcore challenge than boredom.
I've played since 2016 with 3.5k+ hrs mostly as solo Q survivor and I'm way better at survivor than killer yet still get substantially better results playing killer. Even against skilled survivors I can take them down with relative ease aside from a strong swf squad that comes along once or twice every 10 matches and even then I still often get a 2k. I'm not mechanically very good at killer but I know how survivors think and can massacre skilled survivor teams with just some basic game sense and sloppy execution on any killer I pick.
Rewarding bad killers is exactly the issue. Low skill cheese tactics like tunneling and proxy camping are way too effective. I actually feel sorry and sometimes apologize when I play killer and massacre the survivors because I know how broken and OP killer role is and how solo Q players feel. I'll go up against a squad with thousands of hours per survivor and just steam roll them on auto pilot after making tons of mistakes that would get me killed as a survivor.

Are we the same person?? I too sometimes apologize or compliment teams I ruined, with some self-deprecating comments thrown in. I'll miss basic attacks and have them breaking my ankles yet I'll still win. And I do it with boring perks like Iron Grasp, Lightborn, and Awakened Awareness. I'm sometimes saying "God, I'm sorry" to myself as I'm hooking people. I play killer less and less because I just feel bad half the time.
What you say about knowing how they think is a big part of it for people who play both. It's like I know what move they'll try and I can't just unknow it. But that's also what makes me empathetic. A double-edge sword, for sure.
What I don't get it why they let a role that's only 20% of the game be the easiest. People who love these IP characters and this concept will play killer no matter what. If surv is miserable and no one wants to do it then there's no game. But I guess we all keep coming back for the challenge of getting stomped by people who are absolutely terrible, and then having them tell us killer is the harder role lol

All I want is 50/50 average escape and kill rates. That is not balancing around the "worst" survivors, it's finding a middle ground.
Currently BHVR balances around high MMR 4 man Swf which is a tiny minority of the overall player base. And even then, the most sweaty bracket only escapes 48%.
The game should not be balanced around the tiny percentage of top MMR 4 stack players using filters and comms, that are basically cheating using third party apps to get an advantage that was never part of the original vision of the game that became so successful. But that's the state we're in, the game is essentially being balanced around the sweatiest of the cheaters that can't be banned.
So what if these sweaty cheaters have the advantage at the highest level? Most killers hardly ever face this demographic. It makes no sense to ruin the gameplay experience of the majority of the survivor player base just so a tiny percentage of especially sweaty 4 stacks with cheats can be beaten more than half the time by S tier killers. A 50/50 kill/escape rate is the right balance. It's not the infinite loops of the old days, nor is it the pay to win broken killers that we have post 6.1 up til today. It's just a reasonable middle ground that acknowledges 4 stack SWF with cheats breaks the intended game design and their experience and the few high MMR killers they go against is objectively less important than the rest of the player base.

I realize that some people would like higher escape rates, but remember that nobody wanted to play kill back when escape rates were higher. I remember what that was like. 15-20 minute survivor queues (or longer) during peaks times. Now the survivors queue times are actually bearable. I will admit that it seems that killer queue times are just a bit longer than they used to be, so perhaps some slight adjustments need to be make to buff the survivor side, but going from 60% kill rate down to 50% seems like way overkill and I think would likely bring back extremely long survivor queues.
