So can we expect Vigil to be getting fixed in The Walking Dead chapter?
For those who don't know vigil is currently bugged to be 66% faster recovery of the slew of status effects instead of 40%. I would unironically go as far as to kill switch it because if every survivor is running it… The average status effect duration would be cut more than in half.

Oh I didn't notice this, do you have any clips of it?

The Real Reason Why Vigil Took Over Dead by Daylight
You can time it. The exposed duration for dramaturgy is 12 seconds and you can see Hens recovers from the exposed in just barely after 7 seconds. If Vigil was TRULY 40% it would be around the eight and a half second mark.
The match backs it up
12/1.4 = 8.57 seconds
12/1.66 = 7.23 seconds
Just imagine 2 people abusing this making exhaustion or any anti heal go down at the rate of 2.32 a second instead of the 1.8 it should be while running around a strong main building.-5 -
it's not bugged, it's just worded in a misleading way - unlike a lot of other things the perk talks about overall timer and subtracts %s from it rather from charge/second rates.
as a result, we have roughly 66% charge/second rate increase with 40% timer decrease.
40 / 1.66 = 24
40 - 40x0.4 = 24

So where is it stated by the devs that the perk description is worded wrong? Because that would be the accurate statement. Increasing recovery rate is not the same as reducing a timer and BHVR should know that.
Since I know BHVR loves their charge system I highly doubt its the other way around.
Ah so just a shadow change randomly. We love no patch notes.-10 -
I just assumed everyone was running it because of the Event queue having modifiers that give you exposed, I knew after the buff it was much better but damn
They should remove stacking at very least imo.

It does seem like Vigil may be either unintentionally bugged, or a bit overtuned. Surely it's not supposed to counter EVERY possible status effect… just make them a bit less powerful. I've seen some very very very nasty builds with Vigil lately to counter intended perk downsides, and even some Killer powers. Some of these perks are very strong without these downsides and some Killers can be totally gutted if this perk is in play (perks should never totally invalidate a Killer's power this way).

The wording on the perk was changed a few patches after the buff from 30% to 40% to not increase recovery rate but rather decrease the status effect duration. Still, the perk basically got its value doubled in a shadow buff and went under the radar for a while and now it's in full force. Undoubtedly deserves a nerf because of the possibility of the effect stacking with itself.

it's not worded "wrong", it's worded in a "misleading" way because it's not consistent with other perk descriptions in the game.
it's like saying that resilience, instead of making you do generators 9% faster, reduces the amount of time it takes to complete a generator by 7.55% and whichever amount to do heals, totems, etc
they need to correct the description to be in line with other perks - increases the rate of recovery by 66% and nerf it because, frankly, current effect is ludicrously good because it's both massive and stackable.

The dbd fandom wiki doesnt have the newest version written down there.
It still stays increases recovery rate by 30%, 8m radius around you and linger for 15s.
Nightlight has the upto-date one which says decreases the duration of (negative) effects by 40%, 16m radius and linger for 15s.
Still stackable with other Vigil abusers.

Can we killswitch Ghoul and Blight, considering that one is pay-to-win and the other is overpowered?

It's not bugged, they changed the wording on the perk a few patches after the buff. In the patch notes they said it was a buff from 30% to 40%, but it was actually 66% all along and it tricked me into thinking the buff was okay thinking 10% extra wasn't a big deal. But no, Vigil is absolutely too strong right now.

The wiki was moved to wiki.gg instead. The Fandom wiki is not updated anymore and shouldn't be relied upon

I think most of us can agree at least that it shouldn't be stackable.
3 -
not learning to counter a killer 5 years after release is a skill issue tbh
-7 -
Assuming every killer necessarily has reasonable counterplay just because they've been around for a long time is unreasonable
4 -
its a blight….litterally just loop him like any other killer…its not a nurse or kaneki with kindap tech, im sorry but yall have some serious skill issue if u think there is no counter for a killer after 5 damn years lmao
i would understand if it was nurse, but blight lol
dw if u complain enough they will skull merchant him since this community loves that clueless
and then u will see even more nurses.
and the fact a lot of his strong addons got reworked/nerfed and we still see complains is just amazing.

You know the forums are cooked when bro post a fact and get ratioed for saying the truth, also vigil should not stack + not work on killer powers like freddy
3 -
Except it's not a fact. Vigil is not bugged. It no longer increases recovery rate of status effects, it just removes a flat 40% of the duration.

insane how it was a balanced perk and pretty well used, then we nerfed sloppy to increase healing perks strenght, then we buffed vigil to break the balance again + buffing heal again.
This one perk hard counters freddy snares, clown pink bottles and you dont even know its in play + it works for everyone near the user, also it absolutely destroys weak perks like haunted grounds

I'm convinced there would be far fewer complaints related to this game, if people would read descriptions properly for a change.
TL;DR Vigil is in fact not bugged
https://deadbydaylight.wiki.gg/wiki/Vigil#Description_Discrepancy
The wiki page for Vigil explains the issue in detail, it's a good read for anyone convinced something's bugged about that perk.

"It's a blight." Exactly. The killer is S-tier after all these years and can achieve win streaks in the thousands. That's not balanced in an actual PvP game, and the counterplay is nonexistent after a certain point, given the small maps and the lack of resources in them. Do you play survivor in solo queue? If you did, you would be able to count the wins against blight on a single hand.

literally been playing soloQ none stop since all my main killers are bugged
i don't face many blights but i don't have trouble against them if anything i got more trouble against trickster or alien
but again i been playing killer for 5 years i learnt playing survivor from facing survivors lol, so i tend to know some tricks here and there
and yea the map does play a role, but you telling me u are not gonna win against a blight in meat plant or hawkins ?
and counterplay is nonexistent after a certain point…isn't that just all killers in general?, if u exhausted all pallets in a map, every killer becomes stronger
