Every killer's story in a nutshell:
Trapper: Forced by his father to blow up hundreds of people in a tunnel then tortured by the entity when he got captured by her
Hillbilly: Abused by his parents
Wraith: Unknowingly worked for a crime lord, crushing people inside cars.
Nurse: Went ape-######### in a asylum and killed everyone there
Hag: Kidnapped by a cannibal village and tortured
Doctor: He's just mentally #########, that's all.
Huntress: Her mother died in her hands singing her favorite lullaby. She's basically a wild animal now.
Pig: All i know is that she's controlled by Jigsaw.
Clown: He's addicted to fingers.
Spirit: Butchered by her father.
Legion: A bunch of edgy teens that wanted to become criminals but ended up being the most hated killers in dbd.
Freddy: He's a dream demon. He kills people in their dreams. I don't think i need to explain his lore to you.
Leatherface: A kid in a adult's body that has been abused by his family snd now gets abused by the entity
Myers: A demon inside a human body that has nothing inside of him. No emotion and not a single bit of sense for the concepts of life and death, good or evil.
Plague: A priestess that tried to prevent a plague bud ended up contrapting it herself.

"Captured by her"?
"HER"?
Did you just assume the Entity's gender?

yes :(

Ungh. I'd rather keep the with 2018 soft reboot concept. No Thorn, no demon, nothing like that. The original sequels just went off the rails with that idiocy.

well... I meant that he's just pure evil. That's what Loomis said from what i remember. The only Halloween movies that i haven't watched were resurrection and 2018. I will look at 2018 soon tho

DO NOT WATCH RESSURECTION. 2018 was ######### amazing though and the quote for Myers is, (why do I know this) I met him fifteen years ago. I was told there was nothing left. No reason, no, uh, conscience, no understanding and even the most rudimentary sense of life or death, of good or evil, right or wrong. I met this six year old child with this blank, pale, emotionless face, and the blackest eyes, the devil's eyes. I spent eight years trying to reach him and then another seven trying to keep him locked up, because I realized that what was living behind that boy's eyes was purely and simply...evil.
Also poor wraith:(

A lot of them come from some kind of abused backgrounds. Not that it excuses what they became. Just that it gives some idea of why they are what they are.
But I would say in terms of being the most evil it goes to Myers, Clown and Doctor are the most sinister in that regard. Nothing about their background suggests anything that could have led to what they became. They are just inherently bad seeds.

Again with this discussion. Myers isnt evil. One who doesnt know the difference between good and bad cant be evil, because that is just nature, just like Huntress.

Far as I can tell, Doctor was just a dude who became more and more obsessed with torturing people until he went crazy and started going to town on the entire facility.
As for Pig, if my research is accurate (since I have zero interest in watching any Saw movies), she was an apprentice of Jigsaw who eventually decided that she knew better than Jigsaw and started using the games as just executions than as ways to teach victims a lesson, which prompted Jigsaw to test her once more and resulted in her death (obviously retconned to have her be taken in by the Entity).

nope, i didn't

Pig was a Jigsaw victim that survived her "game", and in doing so learned the value of life and became an apprentice of Jigsaw, only to "cheat" at games so she could ensure people that hurt her died. Jigsaw would always give you a way to survive the game. Amanda (and Jigsaw's other apprentice Hoffman) perverted the games so that there was no way to escape because they wanted vengeance, where Jigsaw wanted the victim to repent and appreciate the gift of life they have been given. Amanda also killed someone that failed a game out of mercy; Adam was left in the bathroom chained to a wall with no escape at the end of the first movie so she came back like a week later to strangle him to death to spare him the suffering of starvation. However Jigsaw knew she was cheating at the games, and set up a NEW game where she failed and died at the end.

Herman was always a little crazy, IMO.

To me, Doctor is the sickest Killer. Imagine having your brain roasted on a regular base until you go insane.
And that's a realistic scenario, probably still happens to "patients" at this moment since electroconvulsive therapy is still a thing in some countries.

ECT nowadays is not the barbaric practice that it once was. It's only used as a last resort and we understand how to do it properly. It has its benefits.

"We" do?
I'm sure all clinics in well-educated countries know how and when to use it but there are also other parts on earth with lower standards and no one to control their doings.

"We" as in humans. I'm not a doctor, but I have looked into the subject myself out of curiosity.
Well, yeah, third-world countries are obviously different, but that's like extrapolating from the Sahara that the Earth is devoid of water.

I wasn't aware that I have to specificly mention 3rd world countries to point out that it's a realistic scenario that probably still is happening as we speak. Thought it was kinda obvious that it's not happening in a country like switzerland, although we can't know that for sure.

Actually Jigsaw was the one trying to teach a lesson; that you should cherish your life and appreciate being alive. Amanda diverged from that by NOT teaching lessons and just using it as a way to kill people that hurt her in the past.
Jigsaw is a teacher. Amanda is a murderer.

Go back and watch the Dev streams. They refer to the Entity as "her" lol. I just don't remember which stream it was or if it was in fact an accident.

They're both killers. Just because Jigsaw didn't pull the triggers himself or whatever doesn't exonerate him.

Well that's debatable and a major point of the movie. Characters ask themselves "is he really a killer?" through at least the first film. You can make points either way, and that's the point. What constitutes murder? Jigsaw gave people a way to escape his games albeit after paying some price. This is what the third film kinda emphasizes too. Jigsaw is portrayed as a teacher or a savoir almost. Contrasted against Amanda, who is objectively definitely a murderer. It's meant to make you question these things.
Like even if you say Jigsaw is a murderer because he set up the situations that led to a person's death, then you can apply that to other characters in the film. Like Tapp from the first film, you could argue the same point that he was responsible for his partner's death and his own by breaking protocol and then going rogue to find Jigsaw himself. Had he followed the correct procedures when they learned of Jigsaw's hideout, or had he just given up looking for Jigsaw after his partner died, then those deaths would have been avoided. Same with Detective Matthews, had he just played Jigsaw's game and waited he would have found his son and not be put in a situation that led to his eventual death. Same with Officer Rigg. He had just went home he wouldn't have died AND he wouldn't have caused Matthews death or Art Blank.

@thesuicidefox Jigsaw also slashed Tapps throat if I remember right.

People died as a direct result of his traps. That's murder in any civilized country.

Again that's a point made in the movie that you as the viewer have to decide on. Arguments can be made either way, read the second paragraph I wrote more clearly (I edited it a bit just before you replied BTW). If you make the argument you are making, then there are a LOT of characters in the films that are also murderers because people died as a direct result of their actions. Tapp, Matthews, Rigg. All 3 of them would be murderers by your conclusions. If you believe this to not be a case, that means somewhere between their actions and Jigsaw's actions is "the line" where it goes from not murder to murder. Now you have to ask yourself "where is this line" and for every instance you come up with someone could present a situation where things become fuzzy again.
And again, Jigsaw's actions (and the actions of other characters in the films) are directly contrasted with Amanda's, who is CLEARLY without any doubt a murderer. She cheated on her games so there was no escape, and she even straight up killed Adam herself (out of mercy but still). That's why she is the killer in DBD and not John, because John isn't exactly a murderer. He wouldn't kill even if for the Entity because he DOES NOT KILL. He teaches. Amanda kills.
Also the law is not an infallible thing either. It is created by man, and we are imperfect beings. You can't expect an imperfect being to create a perfect system. The definition of "murder" is malleable when you get situations like Jigsaw. This is why lesser degrees of murder like man slaughter are a thing, to distinguish intent to do the crime. If I get hammered and drive a car, then kill someone it's not murder because it wasn't premeditated but it is my fault, so I get man slaughter instead. Jigsaw put people into his games not with the intent to kill but with the intent to teach. If they die as a result of this, it's not because Jigsaw killed them it's because they failed to develop the drive to live. A lawyer could easily argue that what Jigsaw did was man slaughter and not murder purely because of intent.
