Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

So, Developers… Do You Not Consider Infinite Items Game Breaking?

Vast majority of people are aware of this. The perk Streetwise currently has a bug that allows survivors to gain infinite item charges by following specific steps and methods, especially when combined with offerings like Shiny Coin to make it even easier, but hey, you can't see when people are abusing this apparently.

If the dev team doesn’t see this as something that completely breaks game balance, particularly when paired with strong medkits, toolboxes, or keys, then what exactly qualifies as "game-breaking" anymore?
We used to have leadership that actually took bug abuse seriously. You were banning people for exploiting bugs they didn't even know they were using. Now? Survivors are knowingly abusing this exploit in real matches and nothing happens. We've seen smaller, barely-noticed bugs get kill-switched within hours, often without clear reasoning or communication. So what’s the excuse here?

So the question is:
Do the devs seriously not view this as game-breaking? Or is it just being ignored because it benefits survivors?

The bare minimum should be a temporary kill switch on Streetwise until this is fixed. And before anyone rushes in with “the devs don’t work on weekends”, this bug has been public for almost a full week. It was even reported during the PTB, along with other perk-related bugs… still nothing.

Congratulations, devs. Survivors now have infinite item charges, all thanks to a perk that should have been disabled days ago.

I report people all the time for using exploits in this very case and I hope these people get banned, they very much should be. How they have not killswitched this one week later is criminal and makes BHVR look really bad.

maybe they've intentionally not killswitched it so they can track the data and see just how much someone spending time to get infinite charges on their item affects the outcome of a match.

Congrats you got to keep wesker’s hug techs as well. Unlike hug techs this bug is recent and not survivor players fault it exist. Nobody told them to rework streetwise. This bug would have also had to exist on ptb so the fact nothing was said before live now y’all wanna try to take action against a bug that ptb players knew about first and didn’t report it. Atp they should stop opening ptb because it’s not being used as intended.

You’re kind of missing the point here. No one is asking for bans, we’re asking for a kill switch, just like the devs have done with other broken perks and characters in the past.

Bringing up Merciless Storm or killer UI bugs is irrelevant, those weren’t infinite value exploits and most killers didn’t even know they were bugged. Streetwise abuse, on the other hand, requires deliberate loadout choices and specific steps to make it work and people are doing it on purpose.

Just because BHVR was slow to act on past bugs doesn’t mean they shouldn’t act now. Two wrongs don’t make a right. If anything, it proves that bugs like this should always be handled fast and clearly, regardless of who benefits — killer or survivor.

Let’s stop deflecting and just agree:
If a perk gives infinite value with no downside, it should be kill-switched, period.

No one’s blaming survivors for creating the bug, we’re calling out the fact that it’s being abused, and the devs haven’t taken action. Wesker’s hug tech isn’t remotely comparable, it’s a movement trick, not a bug that gives infinite healing, gen repair, or hook-breaking power. Streetwise is causing a balance-breaking exploit that affects every killer match right now.

    The core issue is:

A perk is allowing infinite item charges.
It’s been reported for a week.
    People are exploiting it.
    There’s still no kill switch.

Whether the rework was intentional or not doesn’t change that this needs to be dealt with, just like they did with Nemesis. Let’s stop deflecting and just ask:
If this were a killer bug giving infinite power, would it still be ignored?

Pulling an infinite commodious/engineers or even a green medkit already saves a lot of time. The commodious alone makes solo gens 60 seconds. Forget engineers 45 seconds. Pulling a rangers medkit is just free botany on top of what healing perks you already have. You get that time back real quick.

And no the "you could get a useless item" is not an excuse.

Sure, weskers hug tech much easier to accomplish that switching items in games, and that give killer autowin

Honestly the only item where infinite charges is game breaking is toolboxes. After testing it medkits don‘t become much better through it. Normally you only need 2 heals and not more, but it’s nice to have more. Flashlights is the last item affected by it and I don‘t see it being a problem either.

Well, there we go. They don’t consider it game-breaking.

This forum reaches hilarious limits with topics like this one, where the use of bugs is defended with the existence of other bugs... Us vs. Them taken to the extreme.
