Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

What do you think BHVR will do for year 10 and onwards?

I mainly think they either would or could slow down with new killers. One day we'll have like 100 characters on each side and tht would be way too much.

Maybe they do keep going for a while but with 10 years I feel like a bigger change is inevitable

If they keep going the way they are they won't even get close to 100 characters each because the game will be dead. I don't want it to happen, but BHVR hasn't shown a willingness to listen to both sides of the aisle and, whether intended or not, has shown they only care about one side. This has caused the Survivor playerbase to dwindle as more and more players just quit the game due to how insufferable and downright unfun it is to play the role - that's not on the Killers, either, it's squarely on BHVR.

After all, Killers have the right to complain, too, that's not the issue. The issue is that BHVR only listens to those complaints, even when those complaints shouldn't be acted upon (cough Fog Vials cough). Now, not every Survivor complaint should be acted upon - both sides of the isle have stupid complaints.

However, to actually balance this, or any other PVP game, you need to listen to all, not just a few. What BHVR has done is show clear bias, even if not intended - just look at all the issues over the years that they've prioritized or just haven't touched, you'll notice a good chunk of the ones they haven't touched are issues that make playing Survivor unfun.

Until they correct themselves, they have no chance of reaching 100 characters each. At this pace, I give them 5 more years, and that's being generous.

What evidence do you have that the survivor base has dwindled and that more and more people are quitting the game? Just looking at Steam charts (the only data source we have), player count still remains near all-time highs on a daily basis. Sure, it’s dropped a bit since FNAF release, but that has always happened after chapter releases for the entire history of the game.

As for the game bleeding survivors, I certainly don’t see that on my end, so I don’t know what makes you believe that. Killer queues are short during the evenings and survivor queues are short during off-peak day hours, which is the same pattern I’ve always seen since I started playing 6 years ago.

I feel like people used to say 'one day we'll have like 50 killers and that would be way too much'.

It's basically a given now we're going to get to that mark.

Surprisingly, to me at least, the game isn't slowing down. I expect they'll be keeping the release pattern they have for quite awhile longer.

Nothing wrong with having a big roster. If anything thats good. Though id think that many horror licenses exist that are worthy and willing of being in DBD.

As long as people keep buying it they will release stuff like now.

The DLC bundles will have to get bigger and cheaper as coming new to the game will be more and more impossible.

The grind also would have to be reduced significantly as it is too much already.

But as there is no competition insight why change what works.

DbD 2 won´t happen as it is a dumb decision. DbD will just evolve so you don´t lose you players.

Realistically, I think they'll keep trying to fix the game but they'll never fully commit. More emphasis on Survivor things that end up weak and nerfed while not much change for Killer. Maybe they'll try to strike a balance, but it'll never fully happen because they'll keep overdoing or underdoing it.

It sounds the same as the past 3 years on the surface, but there will be a bit more of a Survivor slant. It won't be as Killer-oriented, but that doesn't mean it'll be 50/50.

DBD 2.0 with a brand new code that will make the game bugproof for years to come and pave the way to brand new killer powers. Just kidding, it's just gonna be Jason and the same ole spaghetti code and conforming perk/killer designs.

I think we need more maps and just focus on balance and overall game health.

I've found that with all the maps we have right now, I keep playing the same ones over and over everytime I play. I've played on the new map maybe 3 times since the chapter was released. But Dead Dawg Saloon, way to many. Midwich maybe twice a week.

I wiukd also like for them to focus on killer bots, especially in private matches so I can practice playing against them. We've seen in 2v8 that tmwhen a killer dcs, a bot takes over. Even if not all killers are released at once, do it in increments.

Lastly, and maybe down the road, new game modes or objectives. Repairing generators and chasing survivors kind of get old after a while. While I get there are concerns about queue times, having new content like this could actually bolster the player count, even adding thousands of new players. For example, I know someone who doesn't want to play the game because it is too competitive. They play games to relax and have fun, even if its challenging at times. But it's more of the same back and forth, single objectives with little player agency to play how you want or do other things is what turns them off the most.

For example (just an example, not a fullblown idea), having a game mode where the players have to search and find parts to repair the exit gates would open a sense of exploration while also using stealth and strategy to evade the killer. Or having a campaign mode to add story related gameplay.

Overall it just seems the game is getting stale with the same repetitive gameplay, same maps, etc. for me at least.
