Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

The Server is shutting down.

Last thing we would want to see is dbd going offline for good, what are the problems you currently have with the game that would cause you to leave for good if it persists long enough?

For me personally it would be the sheer amount of broken bugs that destroy the intergerty of the match. I'd suggest the devs prioritize this as it is a pvp game.

What is yours?

(Also this is more of a discussion than a question because I want others to talk about their issues and others to help communicate it.)

I wouldn't quit regardless. I've already invested 6 years already.

Honestly, I would probably only quit if the Devs make really dumb decisions. Like adding Voice Chat or something like that, then I would immediatly uninstall. Probably also when they heavily start using AI.

Kind of a clickbaity title, I have to say.

Originally, I thought the only thing that could truly put me off DbD was significant loss of progress.

But what ultimately did it for me were the bugs, the encouragement of optimal play, and the creeping sense that none of the community gripes are going to be fixed due to that.

Although, really, I just prefer PvE.

For us it will be when the game becomes more of a pain than fun. Unfortunately it's reaching to the boiling point between the player's actions and dev decisions.

bugs aswell. Twins were a killer i enjoyed playing p100 them . However they have been unplayable since kanekis patch. Singularity has bugs and so does dracula . Most of the killers i enjoy playing are bugged.

There's probably not going to be some 'this was the moment that caused me to leave'. I, generally, think they've made the game better since I first started playing and I'm somewhat hopeful it will keep in that direction.

I do tend to take breaks from the game, usually between events and if the game is ever particularly problematic I just walk away until its addressed. DbD will likely be just like other games I've played, at some I'll take a break, get into another game, and just kind of forget about DbD.

If there ever was going to be an event that killed DbD in short order I imagine it would be a game design decision or massive bug that made the game unplayable released right before a major holiday and they didn't come back to fix it, but I suspect the game could probably survive that as well

I used to believe the game would be reaching its maximum lifespan around 2027, but it can probably go into the 2030s pretty comfortably.

I don’t quit, but I play much less. After engine changes my ping constantly at 150-300 ms for no reason, and probably it caused by performance deterioration. Pretty sure all people who live far away from servers placement struggle as well.

So I have to wait until I’ll return to other country (I spend half of the year in other region) to have some resemblance of normal gameplay

Kind of in a similar boat. I also said the day FNAF comes in is also that day, so now is as good a time as ever it turns out.

    Honestly, friend, I don't know.

In the past, I thought it would be the whole process of changing Old DBD content. When I first started playing DBD, back in December of 2018, I really loved everything about the game: perks, powers, add-ons, maps, atmosphere, and the list goes on.

When many of these things were changed, especially around the time the big map reworks started to drop, I really disliked it. It got to a point where I felt like I was playing a different game, it no longer felt like Dead by Daylight. I pushed through it for a while, but eventually I decided to take a break, which was around late 2022 - early 2023.

And, to be completely honest, I sorely regret taking said break. I feel like I missed out on a lot of things I shouldn't have, and if I could change the past I would have never taken this break.

I don't want to make that mistake again. So honestly, I don't know what would make me stop playing DBD.
