Anyone else notice how the new ranking system punishes fast killers that are effective
Forgot to post this ages ago but yerhad a fast game with a ebony and doesn't even pip 3hats the point of then now if your punished for a fast paced game where your really good and effective if you can't rank

Yes, that's one of the issues we are talking about in the ranking system threads.
I don't think it's that big of a problem when a killer doesn't pip in a match when an ebony mori is used, but there are other examples of fast games when the killer also doesn't pip.

Ikr I mean I get the changes are to lengthen a game but it's still a bit bs that if a killer has the skill to end the game fast effectively like a good killer should they at least should get a pip for killing all 4 and the decent score for the emberlem score

Thats the same issue for survivors, if you´re to fast you blackpip. It is one of my top critics on the ranking system too.

@PunL You also don't pip as surv when your teammates are doing their job. You need at least one surv who isn't working properly so that you can do their work as well and get the necessary Emblem points.

I actually saw a utube vid saying the changes have been more to a competitive game not casual but by doing one step at a time is breaking the game this is one it's more geared to every man for themselves and the only way to know u got a double pip is to farm

I'm not a fan of the Emblem system. What I'd prefer is to make pipping bloodpoint-related again. And for that to work properly, remove the 8k bp cap per category.
(A killer could also pip that way in a fast game as long as there is a reasonable "all survs killed" bonus.)

Agreed that kind of system works with the changes they made meaning it's a higher skill cap to earn doubles now

It's messed up for killers but makes sense for survivors.
Survivors can't just run gens anymore they need to save some people, take some chases.
But that's what a survivor is required to do.
The only problem for killer is they kill period to me it shouldn't matter whether they are "Devious" "Hunters" or whatever a kill is a kill.

The emblems are not there to reward players for being better than your opponents.
The emblems reward players for playing the game the way the Devs want you to play. In essence playing "correctly".

If you've easily killed them, they probably were not that good. Should you earn a pip if you get matched with 4 rank 15s and trounce them? I'd hope not. As long as you didn't depip I think that it ok.

That hsa nothing to do with the new ranking system.
A fast 4k could have resulted in a blackpip in the old emblem system aswell

New pipping system is broke, simple as.
Can someone explain how you can 4k with 20k+ BP's and only safety pip as a killer. Makes no sense happens a lot, don't worry tho if you want to pip just let 2 people escape. Makes no sense.
Same as survivor I play multiple games getting tons of BP's escape and safety pip but if I die half way through a game I'm likely going to pip.
Also they didn't take into consideration that people will DC the n nobody pips. They should just revert until they fix the issues with this system they obviously didn't test it out thoroughly

@Grim - The pips required is less stringent at rank 15 so you will pip and rank up. As you get higher up the ranks you need to prove your worth. Difficult wins are rewarded more than easy wins on the assumption that you are more likely to have faced a tough team and avoided camping.

I fail to see why you should rank up from crushing low-rank survivors, but not high-rank. You demonstrate your worth by winning. That shouldn't change the more you rank up.
I've had games where I win as Billy in under 5 minutes and de-pip because of it.

I have had a match recently before I entered a hiatus, I played Legion and downed everyone before any gen was done (yes I slugged) and did not pip

The new pipping system is meant to put you were you belong, so that you are playing against equal opponents. If you pip after every reasonably good game we will be back at the situation where anyone who plays a lot will naturally gain red rank.
Consider black pip the new normal, play for bloodpoints not pips and if bhvr have done their sums right, we will all be playing at ranks were we should get good balanced games against equally skilled opponents.

I had a game where, for some reason, I ended up against rank 13 survivors. They did one gen, didn't save anyone, all died on first hook. Black pip.

It's near impossible to rank up as survivor (was at 2, now hover around 5 or 6). But on the brightside, I no longer care if I pip. I just play to escape and get points. More fun anyway. Not sure why the devs feel like a ranking system improves this game.
Just have no ranks, first come first serve. Wait times would be decreased. If it's a easy game it will be done in 5 minutes anyway.

@Grim - I agree with you, but not at the cost of everyone who plays a lots pipping nearly every game - which was the point of making the change.
I'm glad that I haven't got to red ranks this month, I am not that good and was out of my depth last month. This month I never feel out of my comfort zone and aren't stomping anyone. I feel that the ranking system is working really well at the mid ranks because you can have 3 kills and a hatch escape but not necessarily rank up. In the old system you could 1-hook kill 4 people and not rank up, and that was fair.
The ranking system feels like it would be punishing red rank hilly billys that want to be rank 1 the most - Those that use chainsaw - hook - BBQ - repeat tactics. I can live with that.

I will keep ignoring the ranks and emblem sistem like I have been doing all this time and just have my fun killing survivors and collecting their salt ;-)
