    They do multiple things:

    Obscure vision - to the point where old fog offering was way more impactfull, mapwide and had no limitation or duration. Literally two stacks of that offering was PTB version of fog vial. So this part of item is truly not good.

    Hide sounds - you can use iron will to have more impact no matter the charges or los loses.

    Hide scratchmarks - not truly, it hides them in center. If you want to mess up with killer there are perks that do everything just much better.

    So I agree, that new item been overnerfed without truly testing much and it was first big addition into base game since 2019, so yeah I feel dissapointed for both sides that the new item that was already powercreeped is now so bad that I don't blame people not using it at all.

    because the tips are… useless?

    all his/her survivor „tips“ even when survivors aren’t the ones crying about the then already mid and now useless fog vials? only thing needed a change was the unlimited to charges and nothing more. killers are crying because of that item and won’t learn to counter it, even when most survivors used the fog vials poorly or too late. it’s just crying because some players need to use a braincell and can’t get a free hit or down IF a survivor uses the fog vials correctly.
