Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Shouldn't Deathslinger be KillSwitched?

His Animations are broken especially his Ads animations and survivors have no way to tell when he's gonna Shoot so shouldn't he be killed switched and fixed asap?

I would assume killswitching is centred more on a measure of: -

    • Bug severity. How impactful the bug is.
    • Reproducability. How frequently the bug occurs
    • Bug resolution. Whether or not a fix is in the pipeline/whether or not the bug is very costly, but isn't going to be fixed within a reasonable time scale.

If you give marks out of 10 where the higher the score means likelihood to killswitch, I'd imagine some recent bugs might score something like:

    • Streetwise charge bug: 6, 10, 3 (fix was in the pipeline for next hot fix, so despite high scores elsewhere, wasn't deemed serious enough to KS).
    • Wesker 2vs8 bug: 8, 2, 2 (no fix available for some time, meaning Wesker would be disabled the whole event for a bug that didn't reproduce regular, despite being game breaking for the Weaker player and 1 other survivor only).
    • Deathslinger ADS bug: 3, 10, 5 (cause of issue unknown and may take moderate time to identify, for an issue that, while reproducible, isn't game breaking enough to warrant a killswitch).
    • Trickster Crash bug: 10, 10, 7 (issue likely to take a while to resolve, and caused game to be completely unplayable and shutting down the server, a bug impossible to ignore.

I would imagine the logic goes somewhere through this kind of thought process, for better or worse.

Generally things that get killswitched are game warping bugs. Like Flashlights when they can be used to get inside lockers and be practically invulnerable. As annoying as missing animations are when facing Deathslinger, it's likely not warping the game around the existence of the bug.

I wouldn't really say using the iri addon means he was trying to abuse bugs. That bug happens anytime someone gets stunned while aiming.

I love playing slinger but haven’t played him because of this bug. He should be kill switched.

I have seen this bug going against a Slinger recently.
It also seems to only be a visual bug on the survivor side, since from the killer's PoV, everything is normal.

naw it benefits killers, streamers only cry when it benefits survivors
