Will there be actual improvements to the game instead of promises?
I mean, according to the posts about how 2v8 wesker still suffers from grab bug, why did it make sense to release this event at all? They worked on new content before fixing old issues? Did they really try to test 2v8 queues somehow? Why does killer still have the same problems after bug fixes, and the situation is even worse? (DeathSlinger)
It seems to me, or does this game need a very, very long pause in terms of all events, including, as well as a whole review of the level of technical support for their game? I don’t find any competency in their decisions anymore…
Trying to make a new game from scratch, on a new engine and build no longer seems such a crazy decision.
I really barely have joy from the game when I simply can’t play anything without waiting hours

All I can say is, that if they want things to improve, they really have to step up this time.

I don’t mind playing normal mode without any events with half of killers being killswitched, if it’ll guarantee actual focus on fixing problems. No point in new content if it’s broken

I haven't played dbd in a good while. Not only because there is another game that caught my attention, but also because dbd does a pretty bad job at trying to get me back.
Game breaking perks, maps, killers and items, no killswitched in sight.
Community events that end in embarrassment.
KNOWN bugs that are only fixed when they start being an overwhelming issue.
How do we deal with it? We make a badge to embody all the issues. Sorry, but is this a joke?

Honestly, it is kind of embarrassing. I know that it was unlikely that Bugs get fixed from their apology video and announcement of Roadmap-changes to the release of 2v8, but it has a VERY bad look that a few days after the "We will focus on Bugs"-video 2v8 returns with a Bug which was in two previous iterations of 2v8.
This is just a super bad look and does not really inrease any trust in the Dev Team.

Remaking the game from scratch is still just as crazy it ever was. Not from the standpoint of the game's health because it is desperately needed, but from the standpoint of revenue and investors. The game is basically stuck between a rock and a hard place forever. I think even if they did offload manpower into developing a new engine, we'd still hit the same wall in the long run.

Still, I just feel they need completely rebuilt their game for technical terms…

It's crazy how everything they do, even when it's a repeated event, is messed up.

My friend just completely quit the game because of this. He found other assymetrical one and constantly asking me to go there as well. I just stopped to play dbd as killer for last week, if not considering custom games… yeah

IIf I had another horror pvp that interested me I might leave too. Too bad all the similar games died.

I wonder if bhvr is imploding because idk how their golden goose gets zero effort. this is what, the 3rd 2v8 weskers had a game breaking bug?
1 -
I agree. I just see so many problems with BHVR in charge. 😵

My guess is that nothing will change unless revenue starts to drop significantly. Why would they do anything differently if they can release half-baked, broken content chapter after chapter and their player count (and likely revenue) is still near all-time highs?
3 -
That's the thing.
They are damned if they do, and damned if they don't.
4 -
Yeah, idk.
This is their only successful game, you'd think they'd put more time and attention into making it last as long as possible.
because once it's over, they go back to what they were before. A company that does other bigger companies work for them.

In my opinion they absolutely need to go forward with a new game, with a new engine.
Just do what OW2 did.
Remake the same game from the ground up and transfer over everything that’s already in the game and make it F2P so veteran players don’t have to buy the game again.
DBD is monetized like a free to play anyway, battle pass, skins bundles, paid dlc.
Yes cheaters would of course be a big problem but that’s mitigated by actual having a brand new stable game that cheat developers will have to re-learn and break through (hopefully) an entirely new cheat detection software. While it would absolutely blow chunks for everyone in the short term, it would pay off tenfold in the long term. Sadly I think dbd would never go for it, shareholders and higher ups will keep farming off of sable skins and broken chapters that people only buy because of the license it’s tied to. They have shown time and again they will choose the worst possible option and a week later say ‘sorry we messed up we’ll do better’ and we accept that because there’s no other game like this. It’s basic sunk cost fallacy, for us and them.
I sincerely hope the game truly does get better, but evidence has shown time and again whatever they put out will be broken and ‘eventually’ get fixed into a playable state. Except twins, merchant, and houndmaster who’re drowning constantly.

I think BHVR is aware that DBD can last indefinitely as an advertisement for other things, so they know they don't have to do anything. But I also I think in their minds they're still doing their best.

A company that does other bigger companies work for them.I think that is still what the majority of their workforce does.
4 -
That's the majority of their credits I notice, for sure.

Not if it breaks every update.
3 -
it would explain why DBD is constantly in a bad state.

It depends on how bad. High turnover can conceal a lot of that. A lot of people bought into the Resident Evil edition and couldn't play the RPD for the entire duration of the chapter, but it was still a huge success. Walking Dead has been a nightmare, but I'm willing to bet it's performed well enough.

I remember RE.
There's only so many new players. The consistent bad press the game gets for banning players for being tunneled, or the constant hacking, or DDOS'ing or the inability for the devs to release a functioning update is definitely hurting them.
1 -
I agree. Only time will tell too. But somehow I see them staying afloat for a long time. Now whether it'll be worth playing for anyone that isn't a whale, I'm not so sure about lmao

A "from the ground up" approach could be the solution.
Like you mentioned, it was the way that Blizzard dealt with Overwatch, but also how Valve brought Counter-Strike onto a new game engine. Most of the useful assets were ported over to the new game engine, but some things had to be rebuilt from the ground up. I guess CS2 is more an evolution of CSGO.
What Valve did was making the base game free, but in order to access the premium matchmaking, you'd have to pay for it.
Hypothetically speaking: A solution for DBD would be to offer the new re-made game for free, like through your BHVR account if you already own the original DBD. That could also be a way to significantly reduce the risk of cheaters flooding the new game immediately.1 -
Sha-boom, bang. Zapped, just like that. How many forum member are left now? 19 including mods?

what happened??

I'm sad to see it. Tes was one of the few people (whose stats I've seen) that had about an even amount off matches on both sides. Those are the opinions I like to see.

After everything, I'm convinced this is worse than the release of A Binding Of Kin.
2v8 breaking on day one is the cherry on top, really.
1 -
Probably not. But hey, at least we found out they have the capability to test their product. Something they should do more before pushing a half-assed, barely functional addition to the game. That was talked about for 3 months.
