Hot Take: Hillbilly should be the best killer in the game
Hillbilly is textbook example of a top tier killer that just doesnt make people just sigh with frustration when you see them when you load into a match. If you get wrecked by billy pulling a insane curve or tech you think wow that was awesome as opposed to Nurse who just decides she gets be playing Gmod while the rest of the killers are playing DBD. If we put Nurse on Packwatch and make Billy the best the game would be better as the best killer would be insta unlocked for everyone.

TBH i prefer if they got rid of overheat/drive or tone down doom engravings since thats what every billy main uses and makes overdrive more annoying to deal with and give him better addons! , other wise i agree.

” If we put Nurse on Packwatch and make Billy the best the game would be better as the best killer would be insta unlocked for everyone.”
But… Nurse is already unlocked for everyone, so it wouldn’t change anything about the availability of the best, it would just change who the best killer is.
Also, I sigh loudly when a Billy with Lethal Pursuer downs me or one of my teammates in the first 10 seconds of the game. Pretty frustrating having a killer with mobility and an insta-down know exactly where everyone is right off the bat.

I forgot she came with the game oh well i still want billy to be the best.

Nah, ever since his rework I've just seen EVERY Billy play at his skill floor, which is back revving. No curves, no playing loops, just break pallets until back rev. It's so boring.

i rarely see billy since the nerfs he got last year in 8.3.0. But the billy’s i do see occasionally are either bad/intermediate billy’s where they aren’t that good with the chainsaw and it’s kind of sad to watch or i get the god tier billy’s that show you the reason why he’s top 3 in the game. if nerfing nurse and blight means more hillbilly’s, then im all for it.

the gold standard for killer design are ceno, xeno, springtrap and vecna Billy is honestly incredibly boring and predictable imo.

Billy now is somewhere in top 5 killers probably but nowhere close to nurse, true he can down you much faster than nurse but he is loud and easy to read compare to nurse which compleatly ignores paletts, walls, windows and other objects, even this curent version of billy is strong he was more powerfull right after they gave him overdrive and he was not even able to get over the blight or release ghoul in terms of power which shows he is nowhere near nurse (he could be almost as blight but it would need to be super strong billy main with thousands of hours on him with his best addons and lopro was nerfed so still not on blights level on avarage)

the game is in need of a new fresh meta and the start could be overthrowing Nurse and Blight and put billy in thier place.

I think you forgetting something billy is kinda fresh meta because he was mediocre killer before his buffs but not the nurse and blight they are in the same spot from their release.

Hillbilly is meta? Could have fooled me considering how very little i see him

This might be a bit of a hot take, but I think BHVR went a little bit too far with the nerfs they gave him after his rework. If you don't know what you're doing (and I don't), Survivors that can loop well can make you feel absolutely ridiculous for even trying to use his saw. He's one of those Killers that can sometimes feel terrible to play if you haven't mastered him yet. There's a very good reason why I devote almost my entire Billy build to dealing with bully squads, because once some Survivor groups figure out you're not very good with the saw, the bully squad tactics often come out to play and they'll try as much as possible to get under your skin.
You have to not care at all about losing or looking like a fool for hundreds, maybe thousands of games and not everyone is up for that. He's still one of my mains though and it always feels great to get a down with a curve. Don't get me at all wrong, he's still very deadly in the right hands. He's just a lot more clunky and difficult to play in the wrong ones. Besides, I don't know how you could buff any Killer to replace the one at the top that never has to play around pallets ever.
P.s. I'll never forgive BHVR for nerfing his turning rate boots. Why does BHVR hate drift king Billy so much?

He is very strong killer deffinitly in top 10 killers and maybe in top 5 all that matters is how good he is. he has one of hardest powers to play with in the game and even if the overdrive buffs his power the increased speed makes it much more harder to control.

At one point he was.

you do realise a lot of skill and precision is required to land curves with doom engravings right? its really quite simple to out play, you just have to think outside of the box and predict their curve before they do it. dont give them pallet priority (or do i love when people greed against billy), flare loops when you think you're in a bad spot/crouch tech, leave the loop when you lose LoS and billy is revving up inside the pallet etc…
billy is one of my fav killers to play and play against. he's in a perfect spot right now and i think nerfing his only add ons that make him viable at a high level is not the way to go. i might be biased since he is one of my favs but i dont think he requires anymore changes.
i also agree that he got nerfed too hard like someone above me says,. if he got nerfed anymore i think we'd never see any of them ever again. i know i probably wouldnt play him since he's already hard enough against good players.
// i dont think this is a hot take

i agree 100%

I would play Billy if they gave me an add-on to disable his Overdrive so I could actually develop my muscle memory and learn to curve. Sadly because of Overdrive you can't really practice without this thing throwing you out of whack constantly.
I vote to replace counterweight. That garbage add-on is antithetical to learning the character.
Reduce his TR by 8m but disable Overdrive would be a fantastic add-on for learning Billy, but also for playing OG Billy and Curve Billy.

overdrive is so fun whattt it makes curving insanely fun
but then again i suppose fun is subjective, each to their own and what not, but i would recommend just full sending it with overdrive and going crazy with it. practise makes perfect… and its so funny(and rewarding) hitting people when they think they're on a safe loop and you just curve the entire thing like it doesn't exist xdd overdrive makes it feel even more satisfying imo
i don't think an add on would be bad though, i'd definitely use it. unlike counterweight which i can confidently say i've never used xd the -70% just threw me off completely

Aye it is fun racing with blue, the problem is I'm on console or PC with a pad, so turning around loops is already difficult...
Even if I was back on mouse and keyboard, trying to figure out timings and movement when you have 2 completely different feeling modes bothnin speed and timing, that you don't have a choice on when you trigger or not makes it very difficult to learn Billy and be consistent. 😅
I'd like this add-on just because it would let you make Billy simpler, like he was when he first released, to get solid grasp on him, and then upgrade to Overdrive when you have the basics down. 😅

might be alone with this but I never think “oh wow that was awesome” when I get instadowned. Especially considering that 9/10 it’s because of lethal pursuer or getting back revved. I hate nurse but at least she has to hit me twice.

You and me both. I love playing against Billy. Almost as much as I love playing against Wesker.
You can clearly tell a skilled Billy from a bad one, and going against a skilled one is really a phenomenal experience, because it feels so rewarding to outplay his mind-game.Billy has clear counterplay, something that many other killers lack, which makes him much more interesting to go against.

Ngl, I would totally run an add-on like that. I use the Steel Toe boots a lot because I know I'm going to be smacking into a dozen rocks, trees, walls, twigs, whatevers as soon as the saw goes blue. I feel forced to leave a chase to see if I can catch another Survivor sitting on a gen with a cross-map snipe instead, because I know the extra speed is going to mess me up.
So yeah, maybe it's an effect that could also be added to Steel Toe Boots as well (I could be wrong, but I can't imagine Steel Toe Boots gets a lot of use in experienced Billy builds, so I doubt there would be much complaining if it was given a "nerf" like this. Plus, there's still the Low Kickback Chains that give the same effect and is better anyway).
It could be a training wheels add-on for Billy like Legion's Scratched Ruler used to be.

I was thinking along these lines the other night, and I kinda miss when we didn't have a bunch of spammable/free value aura reading perks. Poor Whispers, man. You used to have to work for your info.

yea I know he’s fun to play against( I main him) I’m just saying that only using doom and boots are the only 2 I see people using

I don't see him much after his last nerf, which is sad. He is probably the killer I enjoy playing against most.
