imagine paying 5$ for a perk that only works against trash tier killers that nobody plays anyway

No I’m saying you don’t have to buy the character to get the perks. They’ll put his perks in the shrine and you can buy them with in game earned currency. It’s pay to play a licensed character. And @NoShinyPony is right you don’t need his perks to win. You can win without any perks.

I would not count on the Perks being in the shrine. Because for many players, only the Perks are interesting, and while buying Leatherface give some form of different gameplay, buying Ash, when you only want the Perks, is only buying a Skin for a character you wont play.

But yeah, it is not pay2win. Most of the good Perks are free. Lets take a look:

    Perks from Original, free Characters:

Bond, Sprint Burst, Adrenaline, Self Care, Empathy, Iron Will, Balanced Landing, Urban Evasion, Unbreakable, Borrowed Time, Dead Hard

Those are free with every game.

Perks from Original, paid DLC Characters:

    Lithe, Deliverance

    Perks from licensed Characters:

DS, maybe MoM and Flip Flop

The latter will probably not be used that much, at least MoM. It has so many occasions where it does not get any Token. And there are better Perks. Basically, from the List of Perks I have, there are 11 Perks that are 100% free. 2 more for characters you can buy with Shards. And only 0-3 Perks (seeing how all of those will do in the future) need to be paid with actual money. This is pretty decent.

I have Ash and his Perks are teachable. At the moment I doubt that I will use any of them.

Like they put bbq in the shrine so everyone has the opportunity to get it right? Lol, I dunno if the shrine busted or not, but it needs a rework.

Ahh and btw, doesn't matter if 5$, 500$ or 1$. If you lock perks behind a paywall in a competitive pvp game, it's p2w. Especially strong perks.

They’ve put bbq in the shrine so many times since it’s release, so idk what you’re getting at or how long you’ve been playing but you can buy almost everything through just playing the game. Anything that’s original content can be bought through playtime. ALL TEACHABLE PERKS REGARDLESS OF CHARACTER END UP IN THE SHRINE. Honestly you can spend the $5 to have them now or wait until they’re in the shrine. I most certainly bought the character for the skin, he could of had any perks and I still would of bought him Bc EVIL DEAD YO!

2 survivor 2 killer perks each week. All based off teachables regardless of whether you’ve purchased the content or not.

So many times? LMAO are you okay lad? It was ONE SINGLE time in the shrine. I think it was around October 2017. It's been 1,5 years not in the shrine again. What are you talking?

While this is correct, BBQ popped up in the Shrine only once, if I remember correctly. I mean, simply buy the DLC, it is cheap, but still.

So I would not count for Ashs Perks to appear, because Ash is only a Skin (for people who are not Fans of the Character itself), so the Perks are the only reason to buy the DLC. And if they appear in the Shrine, this might be a reason to not buy the Ash-DLC. So I would say, from a company perspective, it would be completely logical to let Ashs Perks not appear in the Shrine.

(If they do eventually or not, I dont know. But I would not assume that they will appear in the Shrine 100%)

Decisive strike was just in the shrine a few weeks ago and that’s a licensed dlc. They will be in the shrine eventually. I’m just saying you can wait on that(however long that might be) or cough up the money. Idrc either way how you live your dbd lives. I’m just saying you don’t have to buy the content to get the perks. You can get them eventually through shrine.

Yeah, but the Halloween Chapter has more to offer than just Perks. When we put aside the Survivor, there is also Michael as a Killer with his 3 Perks. And another Killer means different gameplay - which is not the case for Survivors, they are Skins.

I mean, I couldnt care less, I bought the DLC for money already. But like I said - from a company perspective it would make sense to not offer the Perks for free.

I’m fairly certain bbq was in the shrine a couple of months ago...

No, it really wasn’t. There are pages on the internet where they archive every single week of the shrine and the last time BBQ was on it, was in 2017. It was the only time yet.

I already have it but my friend is waiting for it since over a year now and we check the shrine multiple times a week.

The Halloween pack was also more $$$$ Bc it came with 2 characters , and a map. This is literally just a character, and it’s only $5. My point is whether you pay for the dlc or not you can get the perks through shrine. It’s not p2w it’s p2p. I also forked over my money for the dlc, rubs hands together I can feel us getting warmer to dedicated servers. I’m just saying I’ve seen all the dlc perks in shrine at some point so I don’t doubt his will be too. I highly highly doubt they will be in the shrine within the first couple of months, but they will be eventually. You have to think shrine is 2 perks a side per week, and there’s only 52 weeks in a year. It’s all teachables though for every single character whether you’ve bought the dlc or not, whether they are originals or not. Yeah naturally they’ll wait so they can sell more dlc first.

Mettle of man is a pretty bad perk, buckle up is a solo perk that feels like it should be base kit, and Flip flop is pretty good at countering slugging

It's a bad second chance perk that it supposedly locked but not quite behind a pay wall.

Except you don't need them to play and win. It is subjective on if they actually help a player out or not, based on their actual skill in playing a game properly.

Every new characters release had p2w threads before you could buy with shards, guess it will only be done on any future licensed ones now, nothing new to see here.

More like "pay to counter". MoM helps counter tunneling. FF helps counter slugging, or slugging to avoid DS after the tunnel. Buckle up also helps counter slugging.

There are few counters to these, especially as a solo survivor. These perks are not OP, I think they are fine. Then again, I don't really slug much, and try hard to not tunnel unless it is a very toxic player. So, these don't bother me. Two of these perks are useless vs me (slugging ones). MoM....I try to expect it on the fourth hit. That way I'm not surprised by it.

What do you mean with "MoM helps to counter tunneling"?

It sounds like a killer is supposed to hook you one single time and never again. Even 10 minutes after you got unhooked, if he hits you and MoM activates it's the killers fault aka "that's what you get for tunneling 4head"

I guarantee you that I do not need any of Ash's perks in order to win.

    Also, it's a paragraph, not a chapter.
