Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

I'm waiting for the phase 2 changes to be announced, before playing killer again

I'm waiting for the phase 2 changes to be announced, before playing killer again.

Why should I put time and effort into playing killer, if it's likely that the phase 2 changes are going to make the entire killer game role feel miserable?

Because this PTB was so absolutely miserable for killers, that I'm finding it difficult to believe the next phase 2 PTB will actually be fair for killers.

I don't think you need to worry, but I'm also not going to tell you to keep playing a game you're not enjoying.

But… the end result of the latest PTB (all survivor buffs delayed indefinitely) was "disheartening" for a lot of survivor mains. If it turns out that even the suggestion that they might have to change their playstyle causes killer mains to quit, TOO…?

    That's an lmao

Didn't they said that it's gonna be back in the next PTB?

This is not uncommon I have seen a more negative outlook among killer players that I think has been building since the FNAF update with things only getting worse with each update since. The new killer is not really all that interesting in my opinion and Myers got changed into dashslop I think if your a killer only player and not enjoying the game at the moment I would wait till next update (the licensed one) then see how things go from there.

Other wise in the current surv meta even soloq is not the worst as I have been having way more fun on that then stressing as killer, gotten killers to DC more lately too.

But overall I think DBD is going through a rough phase right now with people on both sides not being very happy and BHVR being complacent.

I can get behind disagreement and outcry when something so clearly flawed that not much (if any) direct testing is needed to know it's flawed is announced (Og SM, the latest PTB, og Finisher Mori/basekit Unbreakable PTB, og AFK crows etc.) But quitting a role entirely even though the changes went back in the oven to be polished (for the specific purpose of not affecting regular gameplay, which is what almost everyone said would happen when it was announced and then was proved) is a tad too early in my opinion.

while i know the ptb was a colossal failure but has hinted at things to come, i wouldnt stop playing killer until the changes have actually happened. look at the anti hiding AFK crows, still waiting on them with no sign at all they will ever be implemented after survivors complained. Same could happen with the changes to killer, could be months or years…its been months so far regarding the AFK crows.

You know its not a job right? It's not an investment that you get some return from in the end.

If you enjoy the game, play it.

You might be waiting a while, because I think you've probably got at least half a year before BHVR are brave enough to give these systems another shot. Besides, the only thing that should matter is if the game is still fun to you now. I was half way towards P100 Meg when I decided to put the Survivor role on ice for the foreseeable, but I don't regret the time and effort spent in getting her there. It was fun while it lasted.

I wouldn't worry too much about the future changes, anyway. They have to get the nod from content creators and their communities before passing through another PTB and those folks are sweatier on average and a lot more vocal than most of the player base. I'm fairly convinced now that we won't see anything that'd significantly shake up the status quo at this point. Especially nothing like the systems in the recent PTB that might serve to make DBD less hostile to new / casual players. Game's been live for way too long for any big changes like that to be embraced. (I honestly still think casual players of both roles would have loved most of the changes, but I'll never know if that's actually true or not).

If these systems ever return, they will be a lot weaker.

Well for people who have been paying attention to patches over time survs have been getting small buffs every update or a new perk that breaks the game such as shoulder the burden and having perks like botany, resurgence, vigil being buffed too much over time.

Then there are things like the base kit hook time extension and hook grab being removed making unhooks much safer to do. With all the perk additions changes and base kit additions add up and reaching critical mass during the FNAF chapter, power creep that has not been controlled.

Then after that we got a broken chapter that add another broken perk (conviction), an on demand ninja vanish along with a monumental amount of bugs that impacted killer a lot causing people to stop playing.

And then we get a PTB that wants to upend the entire system out of nowhere and was going to be a massive middle finger to the killer role.

Also clown is getting partially reverted next update and ghoul has received a decent amount of nurfs since he has been out with another coming in the next update.

    "despite players complaining everyday"

So don't try to push this narrative that surv complaints are never heard.

This is the THIRD TIME we got a patch with anti-slugging, that was so horrible that it got delayed…

1st patch was the PTB with the basekit Unbreakable and the special finisher mori

2nd patch was the chaos shuffle, with the anti-slugging solution that was so bad that the entire event got cancelled

3rd patch was this PTB, with anti-slugging, anti-tunneling, and anti-camping

Three strikes sounds like a reasonable time to be completely skeptical that future phase 2 patch will actually be fair for killers.

yeah that's what I thought, nothing happened since FNAF chapter except bhvr overnerfing the new survivor item in record time and then canceling a great PTB after 2 DAYS, clearly you're not paying attention because one side crying and moaning is much more effective than the other, it's not even close

your examples are resolved bugs or hook grabs being removed really ? that was 2+ years ago.. the upcoming changes for ghoul/clown are totally missing the mark as always, literally nothing. Vigil is getting nerfed too

You just strawman. I said if you can read "people who have been paying attention to patches over time, survs have been getting small buffs" Leading to critical mass in the FNAF update (case in point allot of people made videos talking about killer being harder or not), in case that's still not enough the surv role has been getting stronger slowly overtime with the power reaching critical mass during the FNAF chapter.

A great PTB? Most people said it was really bad with most feedback being negative towards it. Also crying? You just said "meanwhile ghoul and clown are largely untouched and still broken, despite players complaining everyday"

People have been crying over ghoul all the time, every time a new killer comes out people cry over it. Really going to just pretend killer players are the only ones to complain, absolute hypocrite.

It's just the truth people cried on reddit and update was canceled in 2 days, not my problem if people can't handle facts.

Do you have any stats to prove that survivors are stronger, or "power creep is reaching critical mass" xDD ? Two videos from biased content creators isn't proof of anything, devs would have done something if killrate was drastically different because they always want to stay around their 60% killrate target

"surv have been getting small buffs" yeah and a lot a small nerfs too so what's your point exactly, why are you not mentioning that, you're right I detect hypocrisy

It's just the truth people cried on reddit and Ghoul was nurfed in 2 hotfixes not my problem if people can't handle facts.

"Two videos from biased content creators" Oh so people you dont like, so it does not count? Has to be approved creator trademark?

BHVR's published kill rates don't have any context and are just a data drop as if we go by their data nurse would be a weak killer in need of buffs and sadako would be the most broken killer in the game but people who actually play the game know other wise.

"Small nurfs too" Such as? What PERK got unfairly nurfed that people liked to run got nurfed, the only perk in recent times to have this would be streetwise that got changed alongside the now demolished franklins due to BHVR not wanting to change the charge system or the added gen time for all the gen regression being nurfed.

And yes, you are a hypocrite because you make it out like only one side complains then get tribalistic about it while having nothing to do with game balance just pitchfork and torching.

Anyway I cannot be bothered to continue you don't want to debate just complain.

Nothing wrong with that, I did similar and quit survivor some months back. That's always been allowed.
