What do you all think about the state of solo q?

Power Creep definitely feels like it's a thing. As Survivor I feel I've got a lot of strong perk options and combos to pick from more than ever before... but I'm also going up against killers that are on average getting stronger and stronger as well... it's weird to see Huntress once in a age, and they always seem to struggle a lot more than they used to…
Other than that, mostly the same as it's always been for me.
If survivors actively do gens and actually use the time you make in chase... tbh, game is usually not bad at all and a lot of fun (assuming you don't get comp Blight's / Nurses running full sweat, or someone cheesing Clown).
If survivors don't do gens and wander around aimlessly or keep trying for flashy saves and failing anyway... very frustrating, not matter what is going on.
If survivors actively run the killer to you working on central gens, even when you have Empathic Connection equipped, looping killers around hooks, and/or serving you up for tunneling 10 seconds after you get hooked... liable to pass out from forgetting to breathe.
Though the removal of self unhooks has been a huge improvement overall. I see far fewer quitters turning winnable games in to guaranteed losses than I was getting before, and that was always way more frequent and annoying than anything else I have experienced in DBD. So that's a major plus.

LOL even something like this that is simply a fact, not opinion, gets downvoted. Even when presented with facts and actual game experience, there are some who simply want to stir up the false narrative that one side or the other is “impossible to play”. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised - the usual downvote bombers love to have their anonymity so they don’t have to actually try to argue their point of view.

Get trash team mates an it's awful
Get semi decent team mates who try an it's close games
Get decent team mates an the killer gets stomped an they dc half the time when last gen pops.1 -
For 4v1 it's unplayable. The game and all the design choices are miserable and promote the worst aspects of pvp gaming imaginable. If Survs even get so much as an edge, the Killer usually DC's, meanwhile they almost all are slugging/camping/tunneling to make the match as awful as possible. Not to mention how often someone will throw the match and then what? The game is over and already a waste of time, yet everyone else is trapped in it because BHVR likes to force trash gameplay styles over any sort of community.
2v8 should honestly be permanent and 4v1 should be rehauled to mimic SWF, every single match should have SWF level of cooperation through in-game mechanics, especially voice comms and player loadouts in the lobby. Then half of this none sense wouldn't even be an issue.

I think I'm officially done with soloq, at least for now. Maybe if something improves I'll go back. Lately, I've been playing killer when alone. If someone sends me an invite, I'll switch, but otherwise, no thanks. Maybe I'll pop in here and there if I'm feeling particularly masochistic.

To many bad team mates.
When you get good team mates no issues what so ever but so many clueless and selfish players0 -
Disaster, after a few matches I just hop on killer lmao.

You could give bazookas to the survivors and the situation wouldn't change one bit. The main problem is that the average survivor is terrible, because the game never teaches you how to improve or anything useful. This must be one of the few games where you can invest thousands of hours without learning anything at all. No change in the game will turn you into that player who loops the killer for several gens.
If survivors were forced to take an active part in the match and there were no escapes where you repair a couple of gens and walk out the gates without even seeing the killer, there would be many survivors who would absolutely never win. The only difference between SoloQ and SWF is that you don't choose who you play with, so it's quite likely that you'll end up with bad players, since they're the vast majority. And as I said, you can give them bazookas, but it won't change anything.

My opinion is I could literally be playing like 100+ better games with my time lol

it’s bad like always but it feels like it’s gotten worse since the announcement of the tunneling and slugging reduction systems being delayed. the amount of tunneling , proxy camping and slugging has gone up tremendously in my games at least. It’s forced me to bring DS and unbreakable every game which really sucks. I hope that once the systems eventually come through along with the promised see your teammates perks coming in march, solo q will be a lot more bearable.

Depends a lot on time of day. In soloQ I dodge private profiles, certain skins (experience says they signal certain playstyles), and I avoid backfills—if people leave, I requeue; backfill is usually “shortest queue,” not “best MMR.” Do that and soloQ can be solid: good matches, real teamplay, folks with gamesense and cover. If you don’t filter, you’ll run into the typical casual “sable” doing typical sable things—but once you filter a bit, soloQ is actually pretty good.

I think solo queue basically died in patch 6.1. Before patch 6.1 you could get away with not needing a loaded team of highly skilled survivors and you really only feared nurse, blight and spirit (who were still strong by the way). But that extra 10 seconds added they added to generators really pushed the average solo queue game towards the game being more killer sided. That being said; of course if you have a good team then it doesn't really matter but in solo queue how often can you say you have a good team?
3 -
horrible. I vowed to stay away until they rework the tunneling/slugging changes. All I’ve seen since killers got their way is just bming and slug and tunnel. Not fun for survivor.
3 -
It's the same as it's always been for me since 2017: A pool of players of various skill levels, most of the time feeling like I have bot-filled lobbies.
-1 -
Every match is a slug fest. It's god awful. Most killers run meta perks and sweat their balls off every match. Not fun with an uncoordinated team.
2 -
All that depends who I get if they are salads which think main objective are chests and totems with no strong hexes in the match and cant loop longer than 20 seconds on shack (not counting if the killer is s-tier) or pros which do gens and know how to loop so killer gets some time wasted and more gens can be done thats key thing to success.
-1 -
If its not strong killer with 3gen then 3 survivors alive on 1 gen left can do it if not then its huge skill issue from survivor side (as I said if its strong killer with good 3 gen like singularity, blight, billy these can be hard to beat and require very good coordination which is rare thing in soloq). The 3 gen issue was fixed and it can still happen but the 3 gen issue now isnt from rng factor which decides where gen spawn and how close to each other but from survivors doing gens asap and dont think logically that last 3 gens have to be as far as possible or atleast two can be closer but one has to be super far so even killers with strong mobility cant preasure it easily with good prerunning and teamwork to do these gens killer can protected this way and is forced to commit to chase. Your tunneling exsample works when the not good killer as survivors tunnels from the start because if the killer isnt that good on weaker/ mediocre killer survivors can loop him for long time so its 2 escapes at worst.

Just yesterday I had terrible match.
We were in queue, feng decided to leave the group, and then she got us again and stayed.
Meg said to her that she should leave, but she didnt. We got into the game.
First thing meg does is jumping in and out of locker. Gave up, literally.
Later on she was sandbagging feng, giving killer 3 man slug multiple times (I was the last one alive) etc.
If a gamer is ready to throw the match over such things, then yes - I am not solo queue'ing again.
Went for some killer games after that.2 -
I have never complained about it. But if I were to die 5-10 times in a row I don't care I play to have fun not to " win" same if I play killer 4k or four escapes I like fun chases and I'm very happy if a survivor leaves me an item before they leave, just as I almost always do when I escape 🙂 But my feeling is that I escape more or less 40-50% of the time so I see no problem? Before the icons on what teammates are doing that was bad but now the game is much better for solos than before.
-1 -
It's like a sneeze that never comes out
I mean I do enjoy the chase aspect though so winning isn't my goal anymore0 -
"The situation" isn't even necessarily a low escape rate. It's a lack of agency and fun.
Even if they gave us bazookas that didn't make us win more, at least we'd have something to do other than hold M1…

solo queue is pretty bad but not because i get tunelled , slugged or camped. It is because my teamates refuse to play as a team and instead are playing for themselves. This is a teamwork game not a 1v1 for each survivor. The ammount of people that refuse to hook trade even tough they've never been hooked is crazy. They rather let you die instead of taking any agro. So i don't blame killers but the survivors instead.

In game vc when?

It's so rough. I rarely see more than 2 gens finished in my matches in a typical night of solo q.
IMO there's just certain perks and killer strategies that completely uncompetitive against 90% of solo q lobbies. Most of the time the match is over before it even begins because of what killer you're against, what perks they're using, and/or what play style they're using.4 -
i think thats just the role of survivor, i mean 1 person in chase, 3 others on a gen pressing a button now and then. get hooked and you have to stay there doing nothing until someone unhooks…if they unhook at all. People play survivor knowingly and willingly with the knowledge that the gameplay at its core is boring. At what point should people start thinking maybe the game or that particular role just isnt for them? i wouldnt play a first person shooter and then complain when i get shot, if i dont like that aspect then maybe first person shooters are not for me?
-2 -
Not really, just ask yourself who has fun with the tools currently available for to survivors. SWF will have the time of their lives, that's for sure, but the average survivor will end up on the ground before they can aim their bazookas.
The game certainly lacks interactivity, but it is this lack that gives most players even a chance... which is rather sad. The objectives themselves encourage this behavior, and the lack of any tutorial for what is actually useful in a match only exacerbates the problem.

killer aint much better either especially m1 killers.
right now its just pre run sprintburst into pre drop and wasting 30 seconds of simply holding w bc of map design and lack of mobility… woohoo i love walking…2 -
Like it's always been, mostly a gamble. Because of it being a team-based role you're highly dependant on your teammates being good which they aren't most of the time. It's not entirely their fault but I think it goes to show that the tutorial mode should really get another overhaul, have it more comprehensive and use it as an opportunity to try and drill good habits into the heads of new survivors. It won't completely solve it but it'll go a long way to giving everyone a better time.

load into dbd > dc sound > other surv stops and stares at me > dc's > i dc > play a different game

It's rough, sometimes unbearable stinky Killers.
But if you enjoy a challenge and use a good information Perk (Kindred), it can be fun.
Just don't expect to escape and it opens up all kinds of build options, lol! (R.I.P. team)

I had a match the other day as killer that was clearly soloq. A default baby Feng who ran in straight lines and never looked behind her and let me zone her to the map edge. A Steve who had a temper tantrum for who knows what reason and dropped every pallet on the map at 5 gens up. An Orlea who chased me around because she wanted to die. The last one was a Dwight who was pretty good and acted normal. I let him leave. It sucks when even as killer I mostly feel bad for my opponents.

Winning in solo queue is virtually impossible, the sort of thing that happens 1 in 50 matches if you are lucky. Haddonfield has a 1/3 pick rate, over half of the killer playerbase exclusively plays Blight (I don't care what Nightlight says, there are five Blights for every 1 Springtrap, Ghoul and Wesker combined). It has gotten to the point where I just associate Blight's terror radius as the default and am confused when I hear the standard one you'd expect for a killer like Trapper. You go into every match knowing you'll not even come close to winning and you need to dedicate your entire build to anti-tunnel just to play a 1v4.

I agree
1 -
Of course behavior cancels the 1 decent buff we get in ages too because killers actually have to hook and use skill to win instead of using scrubby tactics like slugging.

It’s terrible. The wide fishnet of SBMM makes it worse.
