I actually like the Myers rework

Let me begin by pushing back against a common opinion I've been seeing about it; "He's nothing like he is in the movie now". Nobody else from a licensed property is either. I don't remember Pyramid Head and Freddy Kruger slinging lasagna lasers, Wesker and nemesis are in a perpetual leisurely jog, and they had to nerf Vecna with lore for him to fit at all. Point is, matching up with the original property is not a priority, its a primary source of inspiration. Gameplay is ultimately king.

Next, what I'm enjoying about the rework. I am loving being able to stealth on command, I am loving that Pursuer mode is actually capable of playing the game, and I am loving that you can not only still 99 evil incarnate, but manipulate the length of the lunge and with it comes the risk of missing. I am also loving how quick it is to reach evil incarnate, as well as how soon it runs out. Snappier CDs leads to more player agency. There has not been a situation where I thought to myself "This survivor could not have outplayed this".

If anyone is struggling to wrap their head around how new Myers is meant to be played, I highly recommend playing in Stalker and Pursuer more. Evil incarnate feels best used when the moment calls for it, not meant to be activated off cooldown on repeat.

Mechanically he should stay largely the way he is imo.

I genially have been having fun as paying him. The old one felt less engaging in chase, and I felt like I had to stalk for sooooooo long wasting a lot of time for gens to pop. I'm really glad they removed the distance future.

I personally don't see an issue with the movie comparison. We see him rush people down with surprising speed so the slaughtering strike isn't a movie issue, but a feel issue.

He feels really good in chase because he brute forces his way through everything but can still disappear at a moments notice. Its just that slaughtering strike not feeling very great to use.

Glad you like him, and glad people will still play him.

Myself… I have pretty much no interest in him anymore. Whenever I look at him waving around tiles for stalk and literally having no incentive to be sneaky with his stalk cause it's the same no matter where you are, I just feel sad. His last update made him so mixh better at realising the idea of Myers, I would have been content yo never even see a rework.

Everything now on him looks completely mechanical, at the loss of the soul of Myers. For people who don't really care and want him to be more viable, I'm sure that's great... but to people who loved the excellently realised horror icon he was? It's just a massive let down.
