The "anti-deadzone" changes feel abysmal
I know people are riled up about some questionable changes and are calling this a super killer-sided patch, but hear me out about this.
The amount of pallets they introduced into these realms feels awful, especially for M1 killers. It's just safe filler into safe filler into safe filler on most maps that got changed this way.
It feels like nobody with more than 100 hours took a look at this change. I just got two completely safe unmindgameable pallets (no LOS blockers anywhere on the tile) chained into shack. No decently skilled Survivor is getting hit in any reasonable space of time with that kind of setup.
It might not be noticeable on the high tier killers, but playing M1 killers feels like a complete chore right now. Trying the Myers rework felt like a Lumberjack Simulator.
I feel like discussion about this might be overshadowed because of the state Krasue released in, but I think it's important to consider this independently of how she is right now. This change is going to be awful for any killer without an insane chase ability.

this. they may have increased the number of fillers but they heavily reduced the safety of them. idk where everyone is getting this image that the devs added a bunch of god fillers on every map and called it a day. multiple maps even got their main buildings updated to help out killers such as the god window on chapel’s bottom floor being removed, both god windows in the back of mothers dwelling main building got removed, the breakable wall next to the god window on gas heaven got removed, disturbed ward got smaller and the pallets upstairs in main got removed, etc.

I did notice these changes. I can tell right now that for veteran survivors, this is pretty big. I think they put this in for the newer and for solo queue experience. It sucks because I think with all the other changes before, like shrinking the maps and removing a lot of safe tiles to replace them with ######### tiles, it really screwed up the game loop.
So, I do think something needed to be done, but I'm not sure if this is the right way either.. then again I only swf these days so maybe this will have a good impact on soloers because I hear that aspect of DBD is not in a good state right now. Time will tell.

"Just lagswitch to play the game" is absolutely insane advice???

I've been downing people at some new pallets that are just straight up goofy. They added some pointless death traps.

What? What did you say boy?

Because those are the kinds of setups I'm seeing consistently.
They did not reduce the safety of fillers in general on the most part. On Disturbed Ward I've been seeing multiple completely safe pallets right next to each other, the long-loop filler styles. The size decrease does not matter if it comes with setups like this.
Yeah, I really don't think this is the play. I don't want to be forced to play high tier killers all the time at my matchmaking level.
I really think they need to take another look at the generation to stop these kinds of insane setups. There's no room to play around them if a Survivor is good.

I'd like to see some of those in my killer games.
Even so, map generation should not be this varied if this is the case.

Low-ping killers always have time to hit you everywhere if you have a highter ping as a survivor
Low-ping survivors always have time to safe vault if the killer has a higher ping
Ping in this game gives a huge advantage depending on which side you play for
I am more than sure that server-side hit registration will always be to the advantage of players with low ping, because information from them reaches the server faster than from a player with a high ping
So, it seems to me that the best idea is to match players not only by a fictitious MMR, but also by the average ping value, so that it is at least +- the same, and not with a difference of 10-100, as it is now0 -
This is a 2020 post, they changed the hit validation
Aslo, I don't see it very often, but I see streamers where you can hear a scream and blood splashes on the screen, but there is no hit
Something like this (2021):0 -
at this point it's not even a crazy thing to say anymore. I sometimes check ping and it drops from 300 to 30 for killers. I really do believe so many are actually using it already
