Buffing Ruin was a mistake
Contrary to popular belief, Ruin was a perfectly fine perk with its uses if you used it right.
Now it's one of the strongest slowdowns in the game again with almost no reason you shouldn't run it on anybody.
Hexes are strong enough as is with Thrill, Penti, and other strong hexes existing. I don't think we needed to make those builds stronger by buffing an already strong Hex. This perk's regression should've never went past 125-130%. At the very very very least, reinstate the deactivation condition as there's no reason the killer should have this perk in a 3v1.

Ruin was not fine.

Ruin was practically dead.
Why would you use 100% ruin instead of Overcharge and Call of Brine which were also nerfed into oblivion?

You're forgetting that every other slowdown perk has been nerfed. Like yeah ruin is strong now but the overall strength of these perks have been lowered.
Ruin is in a good place now bc it provides actual value when it didn't before.

Yes it was.
Ruin 100%. Those two perks require a kick and barely provide anything, especially Overcharge.
"Every other slowdown" and it's literally just Dead Man's Switch. Every other perk nerf got reverted.

As a killer I didn't bring hexes even when Ruin was 200%, because it's pure gambling and risk of playing perkless in first minutes of the match is too high.
As survivor I adore Ruin buff, because make killer perkless in first minute and take benefits from it with map + Overzealous and Inner Strength is way easier to deal with than any other form of slowdown.

Not like I could just run Undying/Thrill, or some other slowdown to defend gens when it gets cleansed.

They screwed up when they "fixed" ruin two years ago and undid the wrong part.
It should be 200%, but deactivate when a survivor dies.
The fact that they left the regression and removed the anti tunnel just blows my mind.

With how 'us versus them' this game is, it's incredibly likely that any change is good for one side, bad for the other.
The way Ruin was handled in and after 6.1 accomplishes the miraculous feat of being worse for both sides.
And if I had a nickel for every time they managed to somehow find a way to make things worse for both sides, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't much, but it's inexcusable that it happened twice.

So someone using half of their perk slot to make a hex work is considered worth it when instead i can just bring oppression nowhere to hide...

I love it when the Killer brings Ruin/Undying and I can shut off half their build within minutes.
Ruin used to be 200 % and was always more interesting because you went Totem Hunting, Pain Res Switch is just doing the same gen a few times while also waiting for it to unblock.
100 % Ruin was a complete waste, now it's at least somewhat useful.

I don't think any perk should be regressing gens at 200% speed tbh, that's far too much regression.
Lol Oppression an absolutely awful perk that doesn't even do anything half the time.
If you can find the totems AND in a timely manner.
