Artist has a global issue with her birds on different maps

SUMMARY OF THE ISSUE: When Artist tries to place bird on specific ares on the map (RPD, Swamp, The Game - watch the video for more info) they will instant disappear (the game counts the placed birds as used and when you try to fire them off, you get the cooldown for them). RPD has the special issue that depending on the version, the spots are slightly different: On East Wing, crows will also disappear in the chief office and between this and the broken helicopter spot while on West Wing, it only happens on in the main room second floor. Beyond that, if you shoot a crow and the flight path has to go over these areas, the bird will disappear too. Survivors on these spots are also immun against swarms and direct hits. In addition, if you play Artist on either Azaroth Resting Peace or Suffocation Pit, the bird will disappear when they have to go through the walls that are in the map - this happens since this update.

According to different sources, it also happens on more maps (e.g. Hawkins) but I haven't tested it (can't play on every map and test every are and random tile).

  1. Choose Artist
  2. Go on these maps and try to put a crow on these areas.

    The map edge collision in particular is a sore point. There are not many occasions where we use crows through these 'dead spaces' but it is an integral part of Artist's kit that needs preserving. For example, some edge map zones prevent you from checking exit gates/gens/follow up snipes.

    Lery's is one example, the exit gates are small protruding zones from the main map, which means if The Artist is not directly or forward facing the exit gates, she can no longer angle crows to target the gate areas as the edges of 'inner Lery's' will stop the crows.

    Crows also despawn on the game in the rooms before the exit gates are in.

    Artist is unplayable with these bugs. This needs to be patched ASAP.

    Also I will copy one of my comments over as well:

    Artist's power now basically does not work on maps that aren't perfect squares. I want to stress the severity of this bug by listing all the maps that are perfect squares, to give you all an idea of just how much this affects Artist.

    Maps that are perfect squares:

    • Badham*/**
    • Midwich**
    • Shattered Square
    • Lery’s

    *=has a basement that almost certainly is affected by this bug, but hasn’t been tested yet

    **=is a multi-story map and thus already challenging for Artist

    So of ALL the maps in the game, four total are perfect squares and thus unaffected by the edge map bug. (unless aiming at exit gates).

    Maps that likely aren’t affected, but could be at certain angles:

    • Nostromo
    • Toba
    • Forgotten Ruins*/**
    • Haddonfield**
    • all Withered Isle maps, except possibly Greenville Square
    • Dead Dawg
    • all Forsaken Boneyard maps
    • Family Residence
    • all MacMillan maps except Suffo Pit and Groaning Storehouse
    • Temple of Purgation*
    • Torment Creek
    • Rotten Fields
    • Father Campbell’s Chapel
    • Blood Lodge
    • Gas Heaven

    This is an unacceptable state to leave a killer in and needs to be patched urgently.
