Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Let players choose which Myers they want to play as

Why not allow players to choose if they want to play with his old school power or the reworked power? It shouldn't be that hard to do and his old build has been part of the game so long that it seems crazy to just get rid of it now.

I agree with one thing, they shouldn't have left it this long.

But old myers was unhealthy design. He had no chase potential so he excelled at appearing with a <8m TR and instadowning you with no warning. He lacked interaction overall, playing against myers wasn't fun after the tweaks they did last year.

...they did though? If you equip the fragments tuft of hair then you can play as old Myers, and Scratch Mirror still does the same thing. The tuft isn't perfect from what I saw but its something.

Plus I do care less about how thematic a killer is and more about how good and fun a killer is. Thats why TCM couldn't go past a year without dying.

i said it many times and will say again, old myers actually felt like a threat. as survivor, if i know its a myers i wouldnt dare get in his face because i know its game over if i do. i certainly wouldnt try to piss him off by tbagging at every opportunity because 1 slip and i know im getting tombstoned. it made the game feel scary and tense like horror games should feel. Not only that but it was a breath of fresh air to get a myers instead of a speed freak auto tunneler like ghoul, blight, nurse. Myers had counter play which was avoid line of sight, or stay on a gen or use lockers or hop on a totem if there is one nearby. He had virtually no anti loop and no speed so he needed somthing to give him a bit of an edge.

New Myers is a joke if im honest, he still lacks the speed for traveling around the map, he still has pretty much no anti loop (his dash is mediocre at best), hes still very much map dependant but he lost his tombstone edge so he no longer seems like a threat. i feel confident to get in his face, drop a tbag and run….worst case is i get downed and hooked. i would never do that with a tombstone myers. personally i think new Myers is way more boring to go against than old Myers. Added to the fact so far every match i have had with a new myers i have escaped and mostly ends with 3 man escapes. i have seen Myers get 2k at best in my matches as survivor.

Was tombstone piece op? maybe, but they should have tweaked it imo not neutered him completely by removing it entirely. True myers can basekit tombstone after the survivor is on death hook but by that point its pointless and provides very little benefit, 0 benefit if that survivor is alreadly injured. might as well just down them and hook them as normal.

    I agree.

We should have more than just one addon dedicated to the old power set.

There is though, fragmant tuff of hair

But in a worst state as he is just a more weaker version of old Myers

I agree completely. When I used to play survivor all the time, the only killer that really I'm scared of going against was Myers. He's not like other killers where its just generic goal of fast chases, rinse, repeat.

I always dreaded he might pop out of nowhere and I'm always tense as he can pop anywhere. Myers may seem weak to casual gamers, but its because the way to play him takes a lot of mind games. If he was chasing you, and disappear, is he still on the chase, did you lose him, or still lurking in the background?

My biggest issue is the rework of Vanity Mirror as its my biggest asset to play Myers. Scratch mirror is just a meme add-on, its great to scare some people, but good luck playing against good players, or playing with other than probably 3 maps you can only use that on.

Vanity Mirror lets me not care which map, or whoever I'm playing against. Of course, like any games, when its a great team that plays great teamwork, they'll win, but I usually do well and can get 3k to 4k many times.

With new Myers, I'm typically 0k to 1k on most games. And I feel they just made him bland and play like generic killers…fast chases, use power, rinse, repeat.

Myers was the only one that really keeps me sometimes in playing dbd. I'll play other killers to mix things up, but he's the one I really enjoy playing. Its another example of if it aint broke, don't fix it. Or better yet, just tweak some things and let players decide. Look at the add ons, everything revolves around this new play set. The only silver lining is the New Halloween game coming out next year. I hope it plays like the old Myers.

weirdly i was just watching gameplay of the new halloween game like an hour ago. it does look good, love the fact myers can actually go invisible to reflect his movie style, can pop out anywhere and vanish in a blink of an eye.

Tuft isn't exactly old Myers. He still has the awful slowdown for activating t3 since I see people mentioning it.

You still have to deal with the lowered stalk range with tuft.

You still have 24m TR in pursuer while patrolling.

TCM had no skill expression worth mentioning and was tied to a particular IP that was hard to scale up. That's why it died. It just wasn't a DbD type of game.

And no, Fragrant Tuft of hair is not anywhere close to the same as old Myers and I'm tired of being gaslit and told that it is. "Tuft isn't perfect" is a gross understatement.

The only problem here is that new players would struggle with differentiating the two apart, how would they know what myers they are versing.

I also agree. Not about the t-bagging, but about the fact that old Myers felt like a threat, he felt scary. I loved playing against him as a survivor because he was one of the few killers that genuinely felt scary, especially because there was always the threat of being tombstoned, but you had to wait until someone was silently mori'd to find out for sure. Plus permanent tier 1 Myers never failed to scare the hell out of me.

New Myers just…I dunno. He feels meh. Generic, maybe? He used to stand out to me as a killer for a lot of reasons, now he just feels like every other killer.
